President Edgar Lungu has appointed members of the Advisory Board, Fundraising and Technical Committee to spearhead the construction of the National House of Prayer.

Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Rowland Msiska has told Journalists in Lusaka that the appointment of the 12 member board follows the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the National House of Prayer by President Lungu in October.

Dr. Msiska has named the board members as EFZ Executive Director Reverend Pukuta Mwanza, Fr Charles Chilinda from ZEC, Father Robert Sihubwa of the Council of Churches in Zambia and BIGOCA Overseer Dr. Apostle Peter Ndhlovu.

Others are Bishop Joshua Banda of Northmead Assemblies of God, Reverend Akushanga Muyenge from Praise Christian Center, Rev Mpundu Mutala and Apostle Elizabeth Chishimba from God of All Dominions.

He says the rest are Brigadier General Vincent Mwenya, Chaplain General of the Defence Forces, Naiboth Church Overseer Apostle Bishop Dr. Timothy Kazembe, Dr. Edwin Zulu from Reformed Church in Zambia and Lubinda Mukelebai of UCZ.

Dr. Msiska has also disclosed that the Head of State has appointed ten members of the fundraising subcommittee whose core business is mobilization of resources for the construction of the National House of Prayer.

Dr. Msiska says the President has also appointed eight members of the Technical Committee who will look into the day to day running of the National House of Prayer.

He has since encouraged Zambians to continue making contributions to the construction of the house of prayer by depositing into the recently opened account 1996712300387 at ZANACO Lusaka business center branch.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Cabinet has encouraged Zambians not to lose the morale of keeping their surroundings clean especially with the onset of the rains.

Dr. Msiska has reminded Zambians that every first Saturday of the week is dedicated to cleaning the surroundings saying this coming Saturday people should ensure they keep their towns clean.

  1. Waste of time. This country is in desperate need of an intelligent president with a vision backed by non-bootlicking technocrats and a non-female police IG.

  2. So the deferred construction has been replaced by a defacto Board of Directors!? How cunning. Any case, these are ventures that are difficult to survive through other dispensations.

  3. Sorry to digress, but what is the population of Sinda town in Eastern Province? Just read in the Times of Zambia that this year alone, more than 2,000 school girls have become pregnant.

  4. What the nation needs now is not a church but clean water. The church will be a centre for divisions of religion. The nation needs water for good health, energy, tourism, etc

    • Let those who say they are christians but have no church where to congregate contribute to this contraption! I am already committed to giving the little extra I make or come across to my church for various community projects and ministry.

    • Kwisa – There is no correlation between the construction of a donor-funded Cathedral and provision of clean water. You are free to start a clean water campaign and seek donor funding.

  5. Comment:Brigader Gen Vincent Mwenya of all the men of the collar….hope all will not been claiming allowances in this board….we are back to the days of PHI it z like this EL has over steeped his boundary…where z National Housing Authority? Why has he reduced the Office of the President to a level of bricklaying.

  6. Please note that Fr Charles Chilinda is not from ZEC. He cannot represent ZEC. The Catholic Church has no Representative in this useless project.

  7. I am a devote Christian, but sometimes I wonder whether Jesus was / is the son of God. If he was / is the son of God, why would He refer to us gentiles as dogs in Matthew15:24-26? And why does Isaiah 62:8-9 suggest that God has enemies, the same God we think created man in His image and likeness? And why does Isaiah 14:2 suggest that we shall all (the gentiles) be servants of the people of Israel if or when Jesus makes His second coming? Will He really be making a second coming given what He said in John 7:34 and in John 14:16-17? By the way, why is there so much confusion about where we are are going to be with Jesus — in Heaven or in Jerusalem? Was Jesus just another prophet as He claimed in Mark 6:4 and in Luke 4:24?

    • Chipo the bible has so many contradictions and illogical stuff you will realise it was written by people like you and me. People eager to glorify themselves and their idols. People eager to exaggerate.
God keeps changing according to time, I would say according to the storyteller ‘ s biases. At one time he asks for sacrifices but later changes his mind. In the garden of Eden, just Imagine, God looks for Adam and asks “where are you?” How could that happen?
Jesus comes across as a fatalist who is prepared to annoy authority yet not wanting to go to war. Reading the bible you can see why followers and students of the same scriptures differ so much that some think the Messiah had come 2000 years ago while others are still awaiting him.

    • These are the questions our people don’t ask the merely follow like silly sheep…the bible is so contradictory that it actually debates itself. One has to simply read Genesis 1:25-27 which states that Man was created after other animals THEN the selfsame bible states in the same Genesis 2:18-19 that Man before the other animals….its laughable to say the least that someone can take such a book seriously. Our people need to wake up!!

    • Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The Bible does not contradict itself. Its us who fail to read/study it comprehensively. Isa 28:10 says we should compare different texts in the Bible instead if reading 1 line and make a conclusion. There are alot of Bible parts which are misunderstood.
e.g. Acts 10:14 (Read whole chapter. People say God allowed all food types to be eaten because he declared them clean. When you read the who chapter you discover the vision Peter was given was not actually talking about food but it was about the Gentiles and Jews. Now…

    • When know you are moslem, just concentrate on your Religion, dont bring confusion to our Religion. You Moslem are gentiles.
If you are a christian like you claim to be then read your bible very well and dont just read verses, read the chapters.

  8. It seems the construction of Tabernacles is part of the job description of the Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr. Rowland Msiska! Shameful!

    • This nonsense must stop.
We don’t pay this guy to be wasting our money on worthless projects such as this.
      Why are Zambians so docile?

  9. Do u remember how Chiluba polluted the church with brown envelopes especially Joshua Banda and Peter Ndhlovu? That’s exactly what lungu will do to exorcize himself.

  10. An advisory board, technical committee and fundraising committee to oversee the building and day to day running of a National House of prayer? For goodness sake! Has Lungu finally been lobotomized? Surely, is this a priority? This has nothing to do with whether one is a believer or not, before some of you start. This is about what is more pressing for the nation and the prudent use of resources. All these boards or whatever, will gobble up more monies and resources (travel, sitting allowances, remuneration for this and that etc.) Further, with the pressing economic times, people are expected to empty the little in their pockets for the building of this monolithic structure. They already part with money at the other numerous evangelical churches and cult gatherings. Religion and worship…

  11. Catholic Bishops why allowing our priests to sink so low to start dancing to lungu’s orders + is it because of the money they have been given . you want the church to be embarrassed the way it was when bwalya left , because he loved money in steady of preaching the word of the Lord ? Our Bishop Mpundu Give Us the answer

  12. …. should be left to the private and personal realm. Why the holier than thou attitude when we know Zambia is a nation of pagans and no religion? This govt. should concentrate on finding practical solutions to the degenerating standard of living for many. Leave the organisation of prayer to the scribes.

  13. This is for the worship of the Lord God Jehovah. Money Can be sourced from Christians. Stop complaining. My goodness, do Zambians whine about everything?

    • We who donot believe in your gremlin JG, do not want our tax money to be used for this project. We don’t pay this mantis to do religious stuff.

Christians, you are begging for a serious push back from nonbelievers. I hope you realize this.

  14. We zambian are short of memory,do you remember the late president chiluba’s institute of democracy studies.when he left as president, what happened,we will grab the same building and sale it.i thought secretary to cabinet was educated

  15. This lazy bum Lungu is taking Zambians for fools. He is now using the church as a campaign tool to get votes. Shame on him. Chiluba tried it before and you saw the end. This Joshua Banda will never learn he is the person who was collecting alot of brown ebolopes from Chiluba now his back with Lungu.

  16. Zambia needs a national temple of work ethic ,professionalism, diligence and a culture of focus more than it needs a house of prayer.

We’re not a poor 3rd world nation bcuz we don’t pray, but we’re 3rd world bcuz we ‘re lazy,we embrace a culture of poverty and we’re mostly unprofessional.

  17. Misplaced priorities! Trying to gain political mileage the wrong way. Construct a house to accommodate the homeless and orphans.

  18. read the word of God with understanding and revelation, u wont have those funy questions. Have faith and believe wat God has said, thats all. light is wat makes the difference, may light frm above enter u as u read the word of God. Without this, u will just get confused and puffed up.
