ZNBC Board Chairperson, John Mulwila says the public broadcaster is committed to operating within the law and its mandate.

Dr. Mulwila says ZNBC will continue to provide varied programming that is objective, impartial, balanced and work in public interest.

He told ZNBC News in Lusaka today that aggrieved stakeholders should submit their complaints to the Independent Broadcasting Authority -IBA- instead of rushing to courts.

Dr. Mulwila said ZNBC has strived to remain professional and impartial even in times when members of staff have been harassed by some political party cadres.

And Dr. Mulwila said that ZNBC in consultation and guidance from the Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ-has constituted an evaluation committee which will be reviewing content before broadcast.

He said advertisers will be required to pay a prescribed fee after the evaluation committee has approved the content for broadcast.

Dr. Mulwila said this in an effort to provide all stakeholders chance to be heard without risking the unity and peace especially in this election year.

On Sunday, the Media Liaison Committee -MLC- announced that it has resolved to take legal action against the three public media institutions for allegedly not giving equal coverage to all citizens as opposed to Patriotic Front members and sympathisers.

Committee Chairperson Enock Ngoma said ZNBC, Zambia Daily Mail and Times of Zambia have not changed for the better despite the 10 day ultimatum the Committee gave them.

Mr. Ngoma said the Committee has assembled a team of high profile lawyers and that within a week the process should start.

    • The number of flags and comments only depict the views of the bloggers at the moment, the reality is what happens at ZNBC. Its impartial according the the board chairman, its fair according the PF and its unfair according to the Opposition parties. The Truth is according to where you are for a particular issue.

    • Visionary or Visionless? President Lungu is always seen dancing even just inspecting the walls that killed the poor kids a few days ago. Are the lives of the poor kids less special to that of corrupt MPs who are given 3-5 days national mourning? Kumalila Ngoma even in the light of severe economic downturn. What does the poor jobless miner rate such extravagant show of grave incompetent on the part of Lungu n his advisers? It’s time to sober up n be the people’s President sir.

    • who cares whatever goes on on the PF media. I stopped watching ZNBC during MMD regime and resumed when PF took over, however, PF has adopted MMD media propaganda that they campaigned against when they were in opposition. Some Politicians never learn!

  1. Mulwila in as much as you’re educated you’re a fOOl. Who do you think we by the way for you to say ZNBC is objective, impartial, and balanced. I know even your conscious if at all you have is not agreeing with statement

  2. The difference between a wise person and an unwise can be seen from the comment. Thanks Dr Mulwila and Not kambwili

  3. What was he smoking or drinking. Or let me say, what planet has he arrived from. Anyway we’ve heard similar things from his predecessors. Doing wrong things and supporting them. Nothing new, let’s see if the court agrees with you Mr. DEAD NBC.

  4. In your own wisdom the lady in the picture can drink Amarura and you have no problem with it. Why do you hate the president so much kanshi ?

    • Foolish comment, believe you me PF is winning. and CK will remain in cabinet, your HH, will finally retire from politics a broke chap. Peroid! kwamana!

  5. …impartial indeed!!!!!…sometimes you would wonder how many versions of English dictionaries are out there….

  6. …infact Mulwila could have earned himself respect by ditching the ZNCB board in protest to what happened on a Sunday Interview…how can you preside on such a board with shoulders high..??,,rubbish

  7. No sir Mr Mulwila
You are distorting the meaning of English words. To state that ZNBC is balanced and unbiased is to rape English. You guys as ZNBC have probably never even heard the term “fairness doctrine”. You could learn one or two things from the NPR of the USA. Your ZNBC has become like a toilet where every person who supports a ruling party can go and relieve themselves and the stench has reached the high heavens. The rest of citizens without political clout are treated by ZNBC as a bye-line and only get covered by your station in the negative light. Please give me a break about fairness and impartiality unless you mean to say the opposite of the words.

  8. Dr John Mulwila your name is synonymous with a lot of progressive things that have happened in this country. Don’t damage that by insulting us. Your ZNBC is at the lowest its ever been. Instead of defending them you would do well to dump that trash of a broadcaster. Get a serious auditor to check your stats. You will not most people only tune in at news time to see the levels of depravity your ‘masters’ have lowered themselves to.

  9. I have just lost respect for Dr Mulwila how can he sink so low remember how kambwili and you had a problem last year today you say all is fine this is unacceptable for a man of your standing. So you can also be easily be bought?

  10. TIME WILL TELL AND WE ARE WATCHING WHAT IS HAPPENING. LUNGU AND HIS MINISTER’S TIME IS TICKING TO WIND THEM OUT OF THE RACE. YOU GIVE US SOFT LOANS TODAY WE HAMMER AND DONT VOTE FOR YOU. WHY DID YOU NOT BRING IT WHEN YOU CAME IN STOLEN POWER?

KAMBWILI, CHANDA, CHAMA AND MUMBI, HAVE DUG A VERY BIG HOLE MARKING THE DROWSY FALLING PF.

  11. ZNBC new is like this if you have observed very well the first person is president Lungu second first Lady third vice president fourth one of the ministers then end with fake productive building that is the end of main news. Is that what you equal caverage???? If have cameras see who watch and listen to the news you be disapointed to find that only few zambian do. They prefer watching MUVI TV than ZNBC.

  12. It seems like once you are appointed to any position in Govt or parastatals by the Panga Family at the same time you are also introduced Chamba and other portent hallucinogens as a daily portion. Seriously the people in the PF see everything differently from all normal people, there’s is an obscure versions of the reality. Objective iwe Mulwila, REALLY!!!?!! A grand father lying freely with no conscience, for sure poverty is a sin. Look at Frank Bwalya, Chama, Kambwili, Mumbi Phiri and Lungu himself, how did we end up with this stupid lot?? One would mistake our cabinet for mental ward at Chainama Hospital.

  13. Has the meaning of the word impartial changed? Clearly ba Dr you know that you are lying and yet you go ahead and still utter such words. We have eyes to see what is happening at DeadNBC so stop telling us lies, we are not at kindergarten.
