PF Is Full Of Cracks – MMD

Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) National Youth Treasurer Lengwe Bwalya has charged that plenty of cracks are beginning to show within the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) government as they continue to make frantic efforts to secure victory in the upcoming General elections on 11th August 2016. Mr Bwalya said this was evident from the continued misuse of the Public Order Act.

“The people of Zambia continue to be denied their fundamental human rights and unfortunately, even non-political meetings are now demanding a permit even though this provision was struck down by a Supreme Court judgment in 1995. What a shame!

“It’s not so long ago when MMD President Nevers Sekwila Mumba was tear-gassed with our party members in Lundazi. This nonsense should come to an end! We seem to have a trigger-happy Inspector General of Police. No wonder our President Dr Mumba has promised the Zambian people that when we form government, we shall remove that piece of legislation that the PF has misused.

“And we continue to condemn in the strongest possible terms the hate speech and tribal talk from the PF and government top leadership. Zambia’s 73 ethic groups have lived in peace and harmony for as long as this nation has existed and we cannot allow anyone to jeopardise this unity. One wonders why despite repeated calls from the Head of State to stop tribal talk, his cabinet ministers do not heed his directive.

“Could it be that he is no longer in control of the PF or is it that some people are untouchable, uncontrollable and reckless, or is it ‘neckless’? Zambians are watching and will be giving their verdict on PF soon. Hon. Wilbur Simuusa has rightly put it as reported in the The Post Newspapers of 18th January, 2016 that ‘…. this arrogance will cost the PF’. Just one vote from Southern Province could prove decisive,” Mr Bwalya added.

  1. Mr.Bwalya I disagree with this statement:”One wonders why despite repeated calls from the Head of State to stop tribal talk, his cabinet ministers do not heed his directive” because it appears it is not the Ministers who have continued to talk about tribe but the President himself and some members of the opposition! It is disappointing that the President does not seem to have a message on development projects they are carrying out,how they hope to face the challenges of drought, low copper prices and their effects reflecting in power shortages affecting industries, job losses, devaluing currency and accompanying high costs of living and how his party hopes to govern if given another 5 years after August this year! Tribe this, tribe that all the time…from a person in a driving seat!

    • ……iwe ka Bwalya, your party ruled Zambia for 20 years, why didn’t you make amendments when you knew that the POA is bad in it’s current state? Just concentrate on MMD finances, you’ll look foolish if MMD decides to go into an alliance with PF.

    • THAT TOMB STONE LACKS COMMON SENSE. (1) IT LOOKS OLD (2) ITS ENGRAVING SAYS “PF 2011-2016” YET PF IS A RULING PARTY NOW IN 2016 (3) A POLITICAL PARTY ISN’T SOMETHING YOU CAN CATCH OR KILL OR BURY IN THE GRAVE. (4) THAT GRAVEYARD IS NOT ZAMBIAN. ETC

  2. MMD is dead and barried. Pf is still living together with a premature baby upnd, still born baby rainbow, step child fdd. Come August HH will be wiped out from political scene as Ecl continue till 2021. Nevers will jump in the boat together with Edith. Upnd will bare another child who will challenge pf in 2034 and win elections.
Ghost of mmd keep haunting us till we burn you and throw you ashes in Indian ocean.

  3. A building with cracks is showing signs of dangerous dilapidation, possibly indicating it may fall in the not too distant future. However, MMD gave already been razed to the ground. Distant memories of their golden years now public ruins serving a warning to future gov’t.

MMD is irresponsible and non Patriotic. What will make for peaceful Zambian Elections 2016, is Parties reordering themselves into established leading parties to make sure we can have a decisive outright winner, that makes for a strong representative gov’t. .Psssst, MMD….this way to PF.

  4. If PF has cracks then what does MMD have? Some if not, most of the cracks in PF have been caused by your friends who have jumped from MMD to PF including your former president by the way. PF had a good vision for zambia on paper before they came into power in 2011. You should be the last grouping to see cracks in PF because to me you look the same or frankly, you are worse off but they are heading towards the deep valley MMD is in and both of you may not come out of.
