Mbesuma lifts Black Aces back into second place

Collins Mbesuma kept Mpumalanga Black Aces in the race for a 2017 CAF Champions League berth when he inspired the Nelspruit side to another key PSL win on Saturday.

Mbesuma scored the games lone goal in a 1-0 home win over 6th placed Chippa United at Mbombela Stadium.

The Zambia striker struck the target in the 47th minute in a match he played the opening 81 minutes.

Mbesuma takes his tally of the season to 11 goals, five more than Andrea Fileccia of Free State Stars.

His goal kept Black Aces three points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on 33 and 36 points after 16 games played respectively.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Mweene did not make the travelling party for Sundowns 3-2 away win over Maritzburg United with the subs goalkeeper spot instead going to South African Wayne Sandilands while Uganda number one Denis Onyango was between the posts.

In Israel, Evans Kangwa scored his 8th goal of the season on Saturday to lead 4th placed Hapoel Ra’anana to a 1-0 home win over number 5 side Maccabi Petah Tikva.

  1. Comment: We only have two dependable strikers in Zambian football and that’s Kalengo and Mbesuma but Katongo is also good in the wings .

    • “Zambia national team will lift the AFCON cup for the second time and also Kotongo.” We think we speak English language in Zambia, but we don’t. So much meaning, thought, and intention is lo st through thru poor expressions. Consequently, miscommunication leads to missed misunderstanding and loss of opportunities. It’s ok to mix English language with one’s mother tongue where one cannot find an effective expression. .

  3. Comment:I would like say something these zambian coaches,football is not about how clever someone is on ball or the age,football is experience.
