MINISTER of Information and Broadcasting Services Chishimba Kambwili says the Patriotic Front (PF) government has completed the construction of 34 hospitals country-wide since forming government in 2011
.
Mr Kambwili also said government has attracted K20 billion worth of investments and still remains attractive to investors, with Mopani Copper Mines (MCM) injecting K1.1 billion in the sinking of mining shafts.

Speaking at a rally in Masala in Ndola to celebrate President Lungu’s one year stay in power yesterday, Mr Kambwili said government has prioritised the construction of health facilities across the country.

“At the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka, there are new structures aimed at extending the facility, the Levy Mwanawasa Hospital, we have expanded that hospital,” he said, also mentioning the Masaiti, Mkushi, Luangwa, Kalomo, Chiengi and Chavuma district hospitals as the other health institutions that have been built.

With this development, Mr Kambwili, who also doubles as chief government spokesman, said Zambians should vote for President Lungu to foster development in the nation.

He cautioned Zambians against voting for opposition political parties because doing so could discourage further investments.

“For continued development, it is Mr Lungu for he has shown his desire to develop the nation and has handled the transition of power from our late president Michael Sata very well,” Mr Kambwili said, adding that the PF still has an ambitious programme to improve power generation for the country.

At the same rally, Mr Kambwili welcomed 400 opposition UPND members who defected to the PF.
The defectors were led by provincial chairperson Victoria Chikamba.

Mr Kambwili urged PF members to embrace and welcome members from other political parties because politics is about numbers.

  1. What nonsense; surely who in their right mind can defect from UPND to PF? Show us pictures and videos…evidence kaili.
    Viva UPND and HH

    • Did he actually say “Hospitals” or did he mean to say “Mortuaries???” – Becoz a building that just houses the dead becoz of no medicines, doctors, nurses, no electricity -obviously can’t qualify to be called a hospital – why isn’t the minister of health jumping up & down about it????? – PURE DONCHI KUBEBA!!!

    • Completion is fine – he is not saying they started

This ofcourse is on borrowed money- which is fine.

Kambwili is being smart in his utterances

I would love to see him join OA because clearly he was undermined and ignored when he said and talked of the Grade 12 clause

Miles is waiting and whether you like it or NOT

The MS version II is being catapulted to statehouse from August 11

No need ned for elections its a walk over

      Thanks

  2. What will kill UPND and HH is self confidence operating. The govt is working and pipo are seeing but you want to show other ways round. your friend who was more popular than HH in Uganda got 35%. Wait for August you will be shocked like sampa and kabimba who thot they hold PF in their hands

    • WE CANNOT EAT CLINICS AND ROADS THAT ARE COLLAPSING. THERE IS MORE TO GOOD GOVERNANCE THAN PUTTING UP INFERIOR STRUCTURES . WE ZAMBIANS ARE BUYING OUR STAPLE FOODS AT INFLATED PRICES. IT IS THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNMENT TO BUILD ROADS AND HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS ETC BUT WE NEED PEACE AND FAIR PLAY AND FREEDOM. KAMBWILI DO NOT BOAST ABOUT WHAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS BUILD BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PF FUNDS AT WORK BUT OUR TAX MONEY.

  3. @Fuj , we all don’t believe what PF says. We need pic or videos to believe what they say. But see below how the once nice Lusaka is looking under PF. This was posted last week. m.youtube.com/watch?v=puEINrXdnys To see the roads & young kids on the road like that tells you more about PF

  4. Comment: @kubweka

So what doing want the grz do with the tax payer’s money? Without good roads, goods won’t arrive on time. There will be hunger since maize will be rotting all over the country due to lack of good roads. This is what we used happen during the unip era. We never experienced drought and we had bumper each season but most of the harvest went to waste due poor roads. So don’t be myopic, we need good roads. Moreover if you have a vehicle you don’t buy shock absorbers so often and therefore you save. Complaining just for the sake won’t help. Learn to analyze issues on your own than listening to rumor mongers.

  5. Ati the next phase is human developmenti
When PF say that what they mean is they will borrow more money……nkongole currently close to $10 billion in 4 Years meaning another 5 yrs of PF and we will owe $20 billion. Borrowing is all they know.
Don’t vote your children’s future into the slavery of dept with PF.

    • Borrowed TEN BILLION US DOLLARS and only constructed 34 hospitals?

Klown Kambwili, for that amount of money you should have built 10X as many hospitals!

So that means 340 hospitals. Tell us where the remaining 306 hospitals are? Or have you and Lungu spent the money somewhere else ??

Oh, yes, I nearly forgot ! Plenty of by-elections, lots of campaigning at Taxpayers expense, and a few holidays in places like New York at US$ 300,000 a trip!

And you think we should vote for you AGAIN ??? No way CHIEF GOVERNMENT JOKER !!!

  6. hospitals where theres no medicine..aatse..the Cancer Disease Hospital has no drugs..people are dying everyday..of what use are those hospitals..neckless man

  7. Isn’t CB UPND provincial chairman Elisha Matambo or has LT also joined in the ghost stories?
Like #Assage @2 has noted the only way Kadansa can win is by using Kaguta Museveni’s methods.

  8. Does this BUFFOON know the difference between a hospital and Clinic…its no wonder these empty tins call small colleges; Universites.

  9. Kambwili thinks all Zambians are daft: Can he explain why all infrastructure projects unde PF have costed between 50% and 70% more than the true cost? Can he explain why contractors were being forced to exagerate the unit costs for materials like cement to K300 per pocket of cement instead of K65 per pocket? The next government needs to institute forensic audits on infrastructure projects done PF to unearth the looting and plunder that has taken place under PF.

    • @Kazhila you are very right. Let him also disclose the cost per km of constructing a road in Zambia compared to Rwanda. Because of corruption from very high levels in government the cost per km in Zambia is much much higher than in Rwanda where Paul Kagame doesn’t tolerate corruption. Can Kambwili comment on this?

    • To add to that all these projects were at a stand still (because no funds were available) at one point; in construction that means time was wasted and the contractor’s costs had increased…who were those costs passed to? You have this ignorant BUFFOON bragging about this and that when these projects have costs twice the budgeted figure…no prudence whatsoever. He is foaming from the mouth like a drunkard who has just spend all his salary buying drinks for the whole bar when his children’s school fees are pending. No one has taken responsibility for this recklessness…its just a shame that our people do not see this connection and how such carelessness affects them in the long term.

    • As far as PF are concerned it is borrowed money and none is counting. Borrowing to Steal is their speciality. They are the custodians of the countries finances, but they are the ones stealing. Opposition parties are also sharing the plunder that is why they are quite.

  10. God is the witness if lm lying, in grz hospitals drugs are stolen by people who work inside, lets not blame the leaders, government staffs are really corrupted and very disappointing e.g police, the so called national parks dpt. etc. its really sad.

    • They steal because the culture of stealing starts right at the top. The true value of projects is being exaggerated by Millions of dollars and these millions are shared by CEOs in some parastatals and leaders in government. Can anyone explain how senior officers at ZESCO for instance are managing to buy property worth millions of dollars for cash and how ministers are managing to do the same? It is not because they work hard. They are looters, plunderers! White collar crime at play!

  11. if Kambwili is so proud of this ‘development,’ let him and all PF govt officials start going there for services, i can bet you any amount, they will still jump ship and go to SA. zambians need to be wary of these pronouncements of developments that are completely useless

  12. We don’t care whether you have built these monuments or not,the fact is we are voting you out in august 2016 because the damage you have caused far out weights whatever little things you think you have done.Ba PF You dont make sense to many Zambians anymore

  13. Its good that even all opposition cadres have seen what PF has done.YES TO ACHIEVE THAT WITHIN 4 YRS,ANY WISE PERSON WOULD BORROW MONEY!!SO WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO SEE HOW PF HAS USED BORROWED MONEY!!recall Michael Sata once said 2016 elections will be too easy for PF because this party will just be pointing at projects it has done!!THOUGH U GUYS IN OPPOSITION ARE OVER CONFIDENT,IT WILL BE A GREAT BATTLE TO DEFEAT MIGHTY PF THIS YEAR!!PF HAS DONE WONDERS ACROSS ZAMBIA AND SO MANY VOTERS ARE APPRECIATING THAT!!with their early campaigns,pf gonna win it easily!!

  14. In Chipata there is a district hospital being built which we are thankful for! These projects are long over due — let us not politicize that which is simply humanly right to do.
At the same time – our work takes us to mostly rural areas that have almost zero medical facilities and staff. People must travel unreasonable distances to get any true medical assistance. Please, let us not be political — let us bring help to areas of great need. Not for the sake of votes but for the sake of life.
