FAZ comfirms Kamanga presidential bid

Share

Incumbent FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya, his two challengers Andrew Kamanga and Henchel Chitembeya’s candidatures have been confirmed by the association’s legal committee ahead of the 2016 Executive Committee elections.

Kalusha, Kamanga and Chitembeya are on the list of successful candidates for next month’s FAZ Executive Committee elections in Kitwe.

Chisala Mofya, Katongo Kephas, Richard Kazala, Boniface Mwamelo and Pivoty Simwanza will compete for the position of Vice President.

Meanwhile, FAZ says Alex Munasha of Nkana who is vying for the Treasurer position has failed to meet the minimum required number of years.

Unless Munasha successfully appeals, Rixie Mweemba will go unopposed.

Elsewhere, Adrian Kashala and James Mpooma have been disqualified on account of being sponsored by the same club(Nkwazi) contrary to article 26.6 5 of the FAZ constitution.

Journalist Alex Basopo Njobvu has also been disqualified on grounds of not belonging to any club or member association as per requirement of the FAZ constitution.

And Deputy Chairman of the Legal Committee Sokwani Chilembo said all those that have been disqualified are free to appeal to The General Secretary within seven days from today.

  1. THIS IS A GREAT MATCH-UP..LET THE MATTER BETWEEN KALU AND KAMANGA BE SETTLED ONCE AND FOR ALL. I HOPE KALU WINS WITH A RESOUNDING THUMPING OF KAMANGA SO THAT WE REST THIS MATTER.

    GO KALU GO!!!!

  2. KALU IS WINNING. THAT TRIBALIST IS GOING NOWHERE. OUR GOD HATES TRIBALISM THAT IS WHY SOME OPPOSITION LEADER HAS BEEN FAILING TO WIN ELECTIONS.

  3. Chitembeya for Faz president? That’s a joke, the man is a chancer I ve known this man from the days of Nothern Breweries fueling confusion. I agree that let this battle between Kamanga & Kalusha come to an end.

  4. Kalu has done his part lets give chance to his friends like Andrew kamanga. What is it that kalu would do which he has not done?

  5. Kalu will not do anything differently except to steal more from Faz coffers. This ***** has done more harm than good for football thats why the musonda boys cant play for mother zambia because the ***** hates their father for nothing lol.

    • Kapatu, do not lie, keep quiet if you do not know anything. The Musonda boys are Belgian becoz there were born in Belgium. As far as I know, they are better off playing for Belgium not Zambia becoz they will be paid more, better pedigree than Zambia etc. Quite often, such people only turn back to their ‘original’ countries if they fail to make it into the teams of their adopted countries, eg, why should Welbeck go to play for Ghana instead of England, Robert Enshaw playing for Wales instead of Zambia etc? You chap just hate Kalu. Charles Musonda Jr is already playing for Belgium Under 21. By the way, Zambia now allows dual nationality, maybe someone can convince Charlie cool to bring his other two sons who are not doing that very well at Chelsea.

  6. FAZ is bankrupt with bailiffs waiting out side the gates even yet millions of kwacha of Zambian kit is sold on the streets by kalusha and his gang. FAZ opted to have tickets printed in SA for matches depriving local printers, all for kickbacks to their corrupt leadership. FAZ should be one of the richest associations in Africa, contributing to the economy, because of the worldwide love for Zambian football, but no, because of corruption and missmangment they are beggars.

  7. We surely need change. Let ba Kalu rest.

Ask Mumkombwe – wuli mututu sana. Every where you are talking about trabal this or that. Useless. You can’t see beyond tribe.

  8. Yes democracy at its best Kalu will teach Kamanga a good lesson for life and he will for sure know that abakulu bakale and abakale ba Kulu. King Kalu all the way

  9. Kamanga should have done more at Kabwe Warriors to enrich his CV. He also failed at Power Dynamos , I think he is more of a self proclaimed good manager than what people can see. It seems all these candidates think FAZ recieves alot of money from FIFA, hence the grudge to try and ourst Kalu . We had a good manager in Teddy Mulonga, highly rated just the same way people rate Kamanga but what we’re his achievements?

  10. KALUSHA IS NOT THE ONLY INTELECTUAL IN ZAMBIA TO LEAD ASSOCIATIONS,EVEN KAUNDA DID GREATER THINGS THAN ANY PRESIDENT IN STATE HOUSE BUT TIME HAD SPOKEN FOR HIS LEADERSHIP TO COME TO DOOM. KALUSHA MUST GO.
