President Edgar Lungu has charged the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema will still remain in the opposition after August 11th General Elections.
President Lungu says the behavior that the UPND exhibits goes to show that he is not yet ready to take up the leadership mantle.
The Head of State has advised Mr. Hichilema to quit politics saying he is aware the he will lose to him once again.
He says it is also worrying that the UPND Leader is already disputing the election results even before people have voted, which shows that he is fully aware that he is losing for the fifth time.
Speaking when he addressed Chanida residents in Eastern Province yesterday afternoon, president Lungu says he will not allow confusion in the name of democracy.
And President Lungu has assured the nation that he is poised to maintain peace saying he has ideas and solutions that will ensure that the dignity of the human race is respected and protected.
He says his administration will do everything possible to ensure that the 11th August General Elections are free and fair.
Meanwhile,the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has challenged President Edgar Lungu to prove his allegations that the party is training a militia group comprising of about 250 youths.
UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development Moono Mapani says the UPND Leader has on several occasions denounced violence and there is no way he can start training youths to be agents of violence.
Mr. Mapani says it is very clear now that President Lungu is feeling the pressure of leaving office and that is why he is alleging that the UPND wants to cause violence during this year’s elections.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mapani has advised Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga to be above bold and apply the law fairly.
He says it is unacceptable for Ms Katanga to cancel the rally where UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema was expected to address the people on the Copperbelt.
In Politics you can choose the right leaders to do the right things or choose the wrong leaders and beg them to do the right things.
I have heard that one before when UNIP and MMD lost power.
Indirectly LUNGU has admitted that HH is going to win these elections and Lungu will try to rig them.
