Katuba Member of Parliament Jonas Shakafuswa says he will support President Edgar Lungu in this year’s general elections.
Mr Shakafuswa said President Edgar Lungu is a humble man who is willing to learn and listen.
He says he is not looking for a position but wants a better Zambia for all.
Mr Shakafuswa said the country is above tribal and regional boundaries.
But UPND deputy spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says the decision by Mr Shakafuswa is unfortunate.
Mr Mweetwa said it is disheartening that the Katuba Member of Parliament has decided to repay the UPND in such a manner.

Personally i want PF and Lungu to win so that Zambians can learn a lesson or two about voting for people who can not see beyond their nose. Give PF another 5 years and the country will collapse and people will lean a lesson because all the signs are there for everyone to see that EL is a failed project.
HH and Nawakwi need to start collaborating at the earliest. With Nawakwi as running mate and subsequently, vice president after winning the election in August. This is the simplest formula for winning.

High cost of living is not affecting one province. The hardships being experienced in the country are affecting all Zambians in all the ten provinces. The cost of mealie meal is way over K100.00, high exchange rates, high interest rates, high cost of agro inputs and high cost of essential commodities is killing every one. I spoke often, and several times was misunderstood and called all sorts of names especially after denouncing HH as the 2016 as the party’s presidential candidate. There is more water under the bridge as people are wondering how the party will get 50+1 votes this year. I come from Katuba and own business interests there. This man Jonas is not grateful. The people of Katuba didnt want him but voted for the party – UPND. He has done nothing in the constituency – bad roads, bridges, etc. We will meet him head-on in the field. Good luck to him.

Just to correct the record, Shakafuswa won upnd the Katuba seat and not that upnd won Shakafuswa the Katuba seat. Shakafuswa himself is more popular than upnd.
UPND is under 5 regional Tonga political party. Only a Tonga can be UPND leader and only a Tonga can vote for UPND. This year other regions will teach these trbalists a lesson. Not even Livingstone will vote UPND because Livingstone is a civilized province. ECZ will start by announcing Choma, Kalomo, Pemba, Monze and end Chililabombwe, Chilubi results if you know what I mean.
Support the wining team Shakafuswa. Change the team and get rich not these Kachemas who are so dull and backwards.
If it was a PF member of parliament who had pledged to support hh in August elections, it would have been the headline in the post and it would have been written in RED but because it is a upnd MP pledging to support ECL it is all quite in the post newspaper as if nothing has happened but be rest assured mr. post newspaper that no miracle will happen for upnd to win the elections.
No amount of noise making on Muvi TV and watchdog will help the bantustan party to win in August.

Looks like UPND has the most unprincipled MPs Zambia has ever seen. And when they are poached by the ruling party the gaiety of the ministerial office just turns them into real political buffoons. With such turncoats forget about Zambia moving forward. Fortunately, I have never trusted any politician and will never depend on any. I feel pity for those whose egos are soothed only when a particular politician wins. Vuka ‘nzezele otherwise your situation will never change whether it is Lungu or HH in state house. Politicians are are the same.
There are two reasons why Shakafuswa left UPND. 1) He was against the appointment of GBM as vice-president for administration(he posted about this on his facebook page). 2) The party started avoiding him when his mission became clear in UPND. With one leg in PF and the other in UPND, he may have kept the other leg in UPND only to play a role of PF insider. His brother at one time recorded the upnd leadership and passed the recording to PF. So, what is the outlook for his political career? It is highly unlikely that he can win in Katuba unless UPND does not contest the seat(which seems rather ludicrous).

I can’t vote of a leader who is so desperate invites diplomats asking for support in exchange of removing the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation, stopping the construction of the house of prayer and in return introduce homosexuality, gay rights and all kind of wicked things and systems, if you have anti Christ people like Fred of post newspaper backing you and the cartel group of company who’s desire is to ruining our nation.
