Chief Government Spokesman Chishimba Kambwili has released sensational details of how late President Michael Sata used to ridicule then Vice President Guy Scott during internal party and government meetings.
Mr Kambwili said President Sata on frequent occasions used to tell the PF and government inner circles that Dr Scott would have been a very foolish man if he weren’t a white man.
He said President Sata never respected Dr Scott at all and used to it known to every one close to him in the party and the government.
Mr Kambwili who is also Roan Member of Parliament was speaking during a news briefing in Lusaka.
“Everybody knows how President Sata used to tell off Scott during our meetings. He used to say that Uyu ngalifye ichipuba ngatali umusungu (Scott would have been a very foolish man if he weren’t a white man,” Mr Kambwili said.
He added, “If you think I am lying, you can ask the former Chief Justice Madam Chibesakunda, there were many instances when Scott was dressed down by President Sata because the man was not taken seriously even within the party.”
Mr Kambwili said the decision by Dr Scott to endorse UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for the August elections proves that the former Vice President is politically foolish.
“Even us who were doubting as to why President Sata was always talking down on Dr Scott now believe that the late President was right. Scott is a politically foolish man who is way past his sell by date. He overrates himself but he makes poor political judgements,” he said.
And Mr Kambwili has revealed that he has officially lodged a complaint to the Zambia Police Service against the Post Newspapers for alleged illegal phone tapping.
He said he reported the matter to the Police regarding the publication of his private phone conversations with Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe over the Presidential Loan Scheme for traders.
“I have now reported this newspaper to the Police and I believe they will investigate because it is illegal for newspaper to tap people’s private conversations and publish them. Remember what happened in the UK with the BBC, they were charged for illegally listening to people’s private discussions and I want the police to get to the bottom of this,” he said.
So Mr Kambwili do you also accept when the president Sata said you are all dull ministers?
