PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Central Committee member Paul Moonga says outbursts by United Party for National Development (UPND) vice-president for administration Geoffrey Mwamba against President Edgar Lungu and the Government should be rubbished with the contempt they deserve.
Mr Moonga was reacting to Mr Mwamba’s remarks in some sections of the media yesterday in which the UPND leader took a swipe at President Lungu and the Government.
In a statement released to the media yesterday, Mr Moonga said that Mr Mwamba had no right to issue such remarks as the PF Government was delivering accordingly as demonstrated by the infrastructure upgrade, constitutional amendments and the mature approach to governance.
He said Mr Mwamba had no right to insinuate that the PF was having ‘political diarrhoea’ due to the rise in the cost of mealie-meal.
Mr Moonga said the mention of the alcoholic beverage Jameson was malicious, vexatious and frivolous aimed at seeking cheap political gain.
“I am not very keen on seeing the President engaged in cheap arguments with Mr Mwamba, who is a self-confessed wife batterer.
“Mr Mwamba has also been associated with beating his workers and I wonder what he will offer to the respectable position of vice-president,” Mr Moonga said.
Mr Moonga challenged Mr Mwamba to produce his Grade 12 certificate and make it public than exhibiting his ‘crass’ ignorance with claims that President Lungu did not possess a certificate when the Head of State was a University of Zambia law graduate.
Meanwhile, PF Deputy Spokesperson Fr Frank Bwalya has said many Zambians have started realising that United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema does not have a solution to solve the economic problems going through in the country.
Fr Bwalya told journalists in Chipata yesterday the major reasons why the Zambians have come to conclude that Mr Hichilema does not have a solution was because what the opposition leader was saying was not doable.
“As a party we are very happy to what many Zambians are saying that Mr Hakainde Hichilema, leader of opposition UPND does not have solution to the economic problems that our country has. For instance Mr Hichilema is saying he will increase the floor price of maize to K120 per 50 kilogramme bag of maize. That cannot happen because we need a lot of money to achieve what the Food Reserve Agency has been buying to an excess of six percent increase,” he said.
He said it was not possible that the opposition leader’s government can increase the floor price of maize and at the same time reduce price of mealie meal.
He said Zambian’s economy cannot be run if almost 60 percent of the national budget was going to buy maize by the government.
Fr Bwalya said many Zambians have realised that what Mr Hichilema was saying do not make sense because he was doing contrary.
He said it was not true what the UPND was preaching that it would enhance free education from grades one to tertiary once its forms government.
He said it was not possible that Mr Hichilema’s government would manage to education children from primary to university because it required a lot of money.
He alleges that Mr Hichilema had been against borrowing charging that he would not manage to implement the free policy matter.
He said Mr Hichilema does not have a solution to the problems facing the country because whatever he was talking was empty.
Fr Bwalya also MMD had been merging slowly stating that he was glad that PF would become a bigger political party in the province.
He also stated that he was happy that some opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) have applied on PF ticket to asking the ruling party to adopt them as aspiring candidates in the August 11th general
elections.
GBM is not one of the smartest politicians around. How HH allowed himself to be entangled with this wife battering uneducated man is beyond me.
Have you noticed that almost all the vocal people in UPND right now are PF rejects. They have systematically taken over. Only credible voice you hear of is that of kakoma.
We have both sides make allegations of the other that they were not qualified Grade 7s. The only way this will be settled is to produce the certificates not counter accuse. Simple as that.
On HH’s failure to offer solutions. To a large extent he has made some observations and suggestions; unfortunately he is in no position to implement and the government has not taken him seriously as to have tried his proposals to show us they have not worked. As they say a theory is no good unless tested.

You need a good Grade 12 certificate to make it to UNZA and in our time it was a Division One in Form V.
Both HH and Lungu are UNZA graduates and I am aware that HH has a Masters degree (but he is not an accountant).

@WTB(UPND Thug) the only reason HH is entangled with him is because of the idio.cy of the population in Northern Province. This issue of Grade 12 certificates is going to be interesting. There are some people who made it into UNZA because of “connections”. Now, they have degrees and cannot produce a Form 5 or G12 certificate. Tiye!!!

@Saiga Daka you may be literate but you are very uninformed. When UNZA opened, most Zambians did not have O level certificates. So they used competency tests to admit people to the degree programmes. Better still, people started off with certificates, then Diplomas and depending on their performance at these levels, proceeded on to Bachelors Degrees. Get informed not just paper qualified.
On maize: Well we do not have enough maize now but all along there were claims that as a country we have concentrated much on maize and needed to diversify to other crops like cassava, sorghum etc. Here is an opportunity for especially those in the north to show case. Off load your cassava and sorghum. When we have maize there is alot of critics that the concetration is on maize but here is an opportunity to prove that maize isnt that important.

There is so much maize in the Copperbelt, parts of Central, Lusaka, Luapula, Northern and North Western..even those that planted late in Southern province are expected a good yield. Off topic. I just want to express my disappointment with the behavior of ZISC insurance. ZISC insurance is very stubborn when it comes to paying their customers their dues when they terminate insurance policies with them. I used to be a ZISC client for 10 years. But then I decided to terminate the contract because I lost my job. The company I worked for closed down operations due to financial constraints. Getting what I contributed to ZISC has been hell. Please management don’t destroy that lucrative business through your “I don’t care attitude” behavior! People should not only be important to you when they are paying premiums.

The issue of Grade 12 is politically charged. It means that the requirement is contentious. In a mature democracy, the contentious clause is subjected to a referendum to determine the way forward. The fact is, the person who does not have Form 5 certificate is also free to stand and to elect in national elections. The rights of citizens are inalienable. Politicking will not do in deciding whether or not to drop the clause from the constitution.

It is total madness for one to claim that President Edger Chagwa Lungu does not possess a grade xii certificate. Yes I totally agree but the humble man obtained a full Cambridge certificate and that is the reason he was accepted to Unza where he studied for Law Degree. Fellow citizens or kuzonda munthu but some comments do not make any sense. I thought the issue of one producing grade Xii certificate is now water passed under the bridge and the President has made it clear that he will not accept taking back the law to parliament for amendment even if it meant him vacating state house. When are we going to debate on real issues instead of personalities. I can see the UPND bringing on board a lot of bad elements who have nothing tangiable to offer Zambians in terms of problem solving
