Tigers slow down Nkana

Nkana’s one hundred percent record in the 2016 FAZ Super Division is over after they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by promoted Lusaka Tigers at Independence Stadium on Sunday.

Leaders Nkana who now sits on 13 points after Week 5 matches had won their four opening matches before the draw at Tigers.

The visitors led after 20 minutes with a goal from midfielder Austin Muwowo before striker Walter Bwalya gifted Tigers with an own goal on the nick of full time as the game finished 1-1.

Nkana now lead the table by four points as second placed Nchanga Rangers sits on nine points.

On the other hand, Lusaka Tigers are third with eight points.

Meanwhile, Nkwazi thumped Napsa Stars 2-0 in the lunch-time kick-off match also played at Independence Stadium in Lusaka.

Steward Chikandiwa and Jeff Banda scored in the 23rd and 451st minutes respectively.

  1. We didn’t play well the entire second half. First half was far much better. Any way there is more room for improvement

  2. Lusaka Tigers being an upcoming team, played well but lacks the striking force. Thanks to a God given goal from Walter Bwalya in the last minute of added 3 minutes which was already over. The goal came in the 4th minute. However, the Tigers proved to the Copala boys that they are also a force to reckon.
