  1. This rioting business should come to an end. Imagine if tthere was no POA this country would be the riot capital of the world. Govt should enact a law to stiffen the penalty of a rioter maybe making it un bailable offence. This taxi driver hit a child by car who later died. Did the parents of the child riot. When the offender later dies ati riot

    • Very unintelligent comment there. No sane person wants the POA in its current biased application. LT, the last picture does not show one of the main roads. It’s just a small road leading to Dambwa Site. Be patient with your reporting. Ba-Swine!

    • Get it clear. The taxi driver was beaten by the mob. Did he have to go to the cells or the hospital? Accidents happen and we are not advised if the child was hit on high way. If yes, maybe the parents too may have been careless. If you are a driver, know that a child is the most vulnerable on the road. Sometimes they just jump into the road from nowhere and drivers try hard to prevent loss of life. Its not always the carelessness of a driver to kill. That’s the last thing a driver can do.

  2. Why didn’t these drivers protest when their friend killed a child? Taxi drivers should be the ones who’re supposed to observe speed rules. I have not pity for his death and the mob did well to beat him. If everyone observed speed rules, there would be no deaths on the roads. Taxi drivers should just bury their friend. Coming to the road, so it means that Livingstone roads are so dusty? No one to sweep the sand?

    • # No pity Iwe tea car ra what if the child was the one on fault dont you know that children are too careless on the road, the issue is the driver was beaten by the mob and was not supposed to be detained, instead police could have taken him to the hospital under 24 hours guard by a police officer.

  3. Tempers are high in Zambia, we at a melting point. Too many issues and these riots are a sign that not all is well.

    • I agree with you. There are so many underlying issues here. Any slight problem that arises becomes a chance for the disgruntled masses to release their frustration. The police need to be on their toes, this behaviour is following a pattern.

  4. Suntwe you ve failed to address the subject matter. It is simple a taxi driver killed a child but when a taxi driver dies there s chaos. Clearly you have no idea how much POA has helped to make zambia a peaceful nation. As bad as it is it still helps to store order

  5. Lusaka times I’m very disappointed in ur Reporting hw can u report this nonsense&u Guy who comment blindly God will judge ur ignorance who killed a child no body he avoided da child&hit the poll&u pipo can’t see da generosity in da driver

  6. tempers are so high in this country i see problems especially if we make a mistake to re elect lungu i see fire

  7. I have now concludedthat lusaka times is a pf stupd media tool. this story is false.
the truth is that the taxi driver avoided killing the child and hit into the poll and police officers beat upto death and when they realised that he has faint they sought to detain him.
this is what has anger the residents who have vowed to avenge for their collegue. what is this rubusih you lusaka times.

  8. if the POA ,as bad as it is in its current form has managed to make zambia a peaceful for decades, what more in its better form , it will be WAMUYAYAAYA !

  9. Ba Suntwe muli chipuba sana. Sometimes don’t comment just keep quiet. Who beat that Taxi driver to start with? Mabisi muchimutu chako.

  10. Dear Livingstone Mayor. Here where I live now in South Africa they employ people to sweep dust off the streets. I see so much dust on that road in your city. Have you given up on cleaning it of dust? Lusaka Mayor you too could learn that sweeping dust off the streets is part of your service to citizens.

  11. Killing is bad which ever way. As for the driver, the law should have taken its course. For both may their souls rest in peace.

  12. THOSE TALKING ILL ABOUT LT. ITS TIME YOU CONCENTRATED READING YOUR WATCH IMBWA. LT DOES NOT FORCE ANY ONE TO READ ITS CONTENT. YOU COMPLAINTS ARE TOO CHILDISH
