Police in Lusaka have recorded a warn and caution statement on Precious Litebele, the women alleged to have shot dead her husband, Lubinda Litebele in Woodlands on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo says Ms Litebele has not yet been charged.

Ms Katongo says police are still conducting investigations and gathering information into the murder.

She told ZNBC news in an interview that Ms Litebele will appeal in court once she is given a charge.

And Ms Katongo has appealed to members of the public spreading rumours over the case on social media to give police chance to conclude their investigations.

Meanwhile, family members and friends gathered at St Immaculate Catholic Church to pay their last respect to Mr Litebele.

Parish Priest Vincent Sakala in his sermon told both families to commit everything in God’s hands.

Mr Litebele, who worked as a Human Capital Manager at a named bank in Lusaka, leaves behind three children.

He will be put to rest at Lusaka’s Memorial Park.

    • These Police Force (PF) cadres are laughable. So they read social media in order to progress their cases! Now the social media comments are too many and conflicting and they are getting confused. That’s the problem of recruiting and promoting PF cadres into police on the basis of tribe and wako-ni-wako. Utter incompetence is ruining Zambia. That’s why I say
      #ChagwaMustFall
      #PFmustGo

  1. She told ZNBC news in an interview that Ms Litebele will appeal in court once she is given a charge…. Landeni bwino apo, appeal in court

    • I told you people that all this lady needed was good legal advice as the Police cocked up from the start…ZP is still stuck in the past, performance is gauged by how they frustrate opposition parties.

ZP thought they were dealing with poor people from Chainda or George compound…not this time…you have to work hard to prove someone is guilty.

  2. This incident is sad. But how does social media affect investigations? Police need to do their work period not spend time chatting on what’s up!
No matter what people say it will not change facts about the case.
Infact me l heard that there is someone big involved! This is from someone at work.

    • Imagine..you would think social media is only found in Zambia.. how do other Police Constabularies operate where suspects are high profile celebrities …this is how lazy people operate; they look for excuses instead of adapting via change management.

  3. I said this initially…really laughable …who issued the statement in the first place; was it not the Police Commissioner… ZP is truly incompetent that needs retiring everyone and starting again with assistance from outside in modern methods. Even the ritual murderers arrest is questionable as information is still obtained from suspects via torture and out dated methods.

    • Who said Zambia has a Police Force???? I think at best, we have a “band of kanyangus”

It is pointless even to talk about them!!

Vote Wisely 11/8/2016!! Vote for a party that will revamp Police, to be a professional service!!
Vote Zambia FORWARD!! Vote UPND!! Vote abantu baya!!

      #chagwamustfall!! PamaFikuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

  5. That is why we have congestion in our prisons & remand prisons because each case that comes, our semi-skilled prosecutors don’t know where to start from & start learning on the job, delaying the prosecution process. With the case speaking for itself, unlike ritual murders, you still delay to extract the information? Justice delayed is justice denied. She needs to answer charges quickly & know her position whether to walk to freedom or being caged. This is sudden & unforeseeable case with high probability of would be witnesses being affected by nervous shock, even those at arms length could be affected & this may result in failure to extract the information from those people. No matter how much we expand prisons & remand prisons, sufficient space will never be created.

    • The fact is it is 2016 and we are ill equipped to handle such cases ..i hate to say this but you need to ask for assistance from either FBI or Scotland Yard or RSA police for such cases as our police are only good for petty political crimes..our govt can is only good at investing in overpriced roads so the ruling elite can profit.
      Utterly disgraceful!!

  6. INDEED THE STATEMENT IS A DISGRACE. IT SIMPLY GOES TO SHOW HOW UNPROFESSIONAL AND INEPT OUR POLICE IS. ALL THIS IS JUST A REFLECTION OF THE ROT AT NATIONAL LEADERSHIP LEVEL. WE DON’T KNOW HOW TO MAKE OUR INSTITUTIONS RUN EFFECTIVELY AND COMPETENTLY. THIS IS WHAT TRIBALISM, NEPOTISM, CADRERISM AND CORRUPTION CAN DO TO A NATION.L

  7. This woman is a monster! Shooting your own husband FIVE (5) times! If it was one time we may say that it was by accident! Was she drank or may be there was domestic dispute? She has now deprived herself of a husband and men will be shunning her fear of being killed also! May the soul of the departed rest in eternal peace.

    • Where is the proof that she did it? Kangaroo justice will not work here try some innocent poor people you arrest from the compounds…here you will have to prove it not via torture. You have to do your job smartly like that character Lieutenant Columbo.
If she had consumed any alcohol that window passed…ZP cocked up …its the job of the police to do such tests within 24 hrs, all finger prints, thorough search of the crime scene…BUT ZP dont even have dedicated Crime Scene Investigators…they only know how to throw teargas canisters in people’s faces.

  8. I support Jay jay and true Zambian, we have a very under skilled Police Service. Some of us worked in the Police before, and we went abroad to get skills, but when we came back home, the police have been attacking us and pushing us away saying that; we are too educated to be in police offices and they looted all our belongings in persecutory attacks, just to intimidate us, in abuse of state machinery. Yet they used to meet us in UN missions doing a very good job,and they used to admire us,instead of emulating us, we came back hoe to be welcomed by thugs coordinated and supported by the Police, instead of learning from us. I had prepared a lot of investigatory training workshops but I WAS BLOCKED FROM OFFERING THEM, BYTHE SAME POLICE. Yet this country is for all of us. If they had…

  9. We worked hard during our times with the police, thats how we managed to go out there and earn hard. So coming back home with over USD300,000 benefits, they instead chose to rob such money, and silence us,acting with lawyers and senior state council, just to get a luxury they cannot afford. Where are they going to find it, because they ought to pay it back?? Well they will have to parade at the ICC, as such is sabotage and like a war crime or genocide.

I am at pain to read the progress of the matter and wish them luck. If there are some big bosses or the police behind the murder, then we should suspect ethnic cleansing of silozi people, and dysfunction of state institutions. Homicide investigators should be very competent and incorrupt. I enjoyed investigating serious crimes at…
