Paramount Chief Chitimukulu Mwinelubemba Kanyanta Manga II of the Bemba People has called on politicians to accept the out-come of next month’s general elections.

Chief Chitimukulu said candidates eyeing for various elective positions must respect the decision which will be made by the people of Zambia in the polls.

He said there can only be one winner in each election hence the need for politicians to be sober-minded and accept the poll results.

Chief Chitimukulu further cautioned politicians to avoid inciting violence among their respective supporters.

Meanwhile, Paramount Chief Chitimukulu has asked Zambians to pray for the country ahead of the August 11 general elections.

He said the election period is a crucial time which requires people to seek God’s face and dedicate the nation into His hands.

The traditional leader reminded Zambians that other than voting for their preferred candidates, they also have a duty to pray for political leaders and ensure that peace is maintained.

And Chief Chitimukulu has called on Zambians to remain united and refrain from political violence as the country heads to the polls.

He said Zambia is a beacon of peace, therefore, Zambians should not allow political violence to change their ways.

The Paramount Chief was speaking to ZANIS in an exclusive interview in Kasama yesterday.

    • Sounds like he is referring to upnd, oh sorry it’s no longer Upnd but watermelon meaning upnd is subdued by the greens.

  1. Even if there are malpractices, we should accept?????? PF took so many cases to court and had many results nullified. What has changed now?

    • @2Jushua, from the passage nothing has changed. The Chief is not telling those who loose to refuse to go to court and seek justice if they have evidence to prove that they lost unfairly. That is what the PF did with their parliamentary seats and in fact it is their losing candidates and not the party that sued! They lost some and won some. Here the Chief is telling those WHO will LOOSE to DESIST from VIOLENCE same for campaigns. He is also urging them to accept the results since so far no one has petitioned the ECZ and provide evidence on what they perceive could have jeopardized the process from being fair! So HEAR SAYS to create conditions for refusing election results and then CAUSING VIOLENCE is NOT ACCEPTABLE!
