The Law Association of Zambia in partnership with Zambia Episcopal Conference (ZEC), Council of Churches in Zambia and Non-Governmental Organizations Co-Coordinating Council (NGOCC) will be holding a March for Peace on Tuesday, 19th July 2016.

The peach march will start from Embassy Park to the Cathedral of the Holy Cross starting at 14:00 Hours.

According to a notice from LAZ President Linda Kasonde, the March will end with speeches and prayers from LAZ, ZEC, NGOCC and CCZ.

Ms. Kasonde said a detailed programme will be provided in due course and that the dress Code is white top which represents peace and black bottoms which represents mourning for the lives that have been lost during this campaign period as a result of political violence.

She stressed that the march is non-political in support of violence-free political campaigns and elections and urged the general public and all peace-loving Zambians to participate.

  1. unfortunately in the shadow of Zambia, the impact will be very minimal as long as both sides do not show commitment to tolerance of divergent views.Just read the selfsame comments on LT and see the extent of intolerance. It is so shameful in this ‘peaceful nation’. I would prefer they ban this selfsame political regalia, every one should just wave a Zambian flag and not this selfsame green, red, orange, blue or whatever party flags.Hope you lazy bu3ms do not set your country on fire like your fellow empty tins in South Sudan.Find a lasting solution to this confusion. You have a point to prove that you are really a ‘peaceful nation’ and not a nation of political thuggery and confusion.Meanwhile match and mean it, no tight clothes showing lazy bu3ms

    I thank you very much

  2. Thank you LAZ for this initiative, especially that you have a wider backing from ZEC, NGOCC and CCZ. And the Cathedral of the Holy Cross is appropriate venue for the event. The dress code was very carefully thought out, ‘peace’ to minimize ‘mourning’. God bless our beautiful country!

  3. LAZ, good idea and especially that it doesn’t involve politician, otherwise, it would have been as useless as the one called by LUNGU.
This makes sense especially, the intent is “mourn for the lives that have been lost”

For Mapenzi and others lovely people who lost their lives MYSRIP !!!!
