TOURISM and Arts Minister Jean Kapata has urged Livingstone residents to give the Patriotic Front and President Edgar Lungu another five year mandate to run the affairs of the country.

Ms Kapata said the PF had in the last five years demonstrated that it had a well outlined plan to develop and transform Zambia into a prosperous nation.

She said the PF Government had in the last five years embarked on a vigorous infrastructure development campaign that saw the construction of univeristies,Schools, hospitals, airports, markets, rural and township roads.

She was speaking at Maramba Old People’s Home grounds in Livingstone on Saturday where she addressed a mammoth rally.

Ms Kapata, who was accompanied by Livestock and Fisheries deputy minister Lawrence Evans, warned Livingstone residents against listening and voting for politicians who had no developmental agenda for the nation.

“The PF Government has demonstrated that it is a Government that you can entrust the affairs of the country with even for the next five years because it has been practical in all its pronouncements.

“Others are busy giving you a ten point plan which is a copy and paste of what the PF has already implemented, don’t listen to them because they just theoretical and telling you lies, ”Ms Kapata said.

Ms Kapata who is also PF chairperson for elections introduced to the people PF Livingstone constituency parliamentary candidate Omar Munsanje, mayoral candidate Edward Ntinda and all the aspiring councilors.

She also took time to explain to the crowd the importance of the referendum and urged them to vote yes in the referendum so that they could continue to enjoy the rights that they deserved as citizens of Zambia.

Mr Evans, who is also former PF Member of Parliament for Livingstone constituency, urged the Livingstone community to vote for Omar Munsanje as their area Member of Parliament to avoid derailments in the developmental agenda set by the PF Government.

“You have seen the developments that the PF Government has brought into Livingstone, The Bus terminus, market, airport, sewer system and roads are there for your eyes to see and your hands to point at.

“We need Omar Munsanje to continue with were I left from so that we can finish all the pending projects, but if you vote for an opposition member of parliament, all projects will be abandoned and Livingstone will be back to square one,” he said.

And Mr Munsanje, who knelt before the crowd, pledged to continue and implement all the developmental projects initiated by the PF Government once elected as area member of parliament on 11 August 2016.

  1. I had the misfortune of meeting this woman in a meeting and boy was I shocked by her ignorance and mere arrogance. Look kapata you claim infrastructure and yet you are using borrowed money which our great grand children will have to pay back. Under you rule we have seen load shedding. High cost of living and even Killing of opposition while closing independent media. This is not Zimbabwe and Zambians are voting you out.

  2. a BUS TERMINUS WHICH AFTER 5 YEARS HAS STILL NOT BEEN COMPLETED, AN AIRPORT THAT WAS BUILT DURING MMD, UMEMPLOYMENT, THE CLOSURE OF MANY COMPANIES……

  3. ‘MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPTMENT’ WITH RDA BASED AT STATE HOUSE SO THAT THEY SAHRE THE INFLATED COSSTS. NACHIPWA BA JEAN. ISHO SHINE MWALILE SHAFULA

  4. I just don’t like the way ECL’s face on the chitenge outfit has been twisted under Jean’s right hand elbow…. I lived in Livingstone and I know what we need in that town not what Evans is telling Munsanje……

  5. Can anyone tell the PF that Reverse means going backwards. How can they be Dununaling Reverse sure even if there English has a problem but in all honesty there is power in spoken word. How can you be confessing reverse and the entire team is dancing to reverse

  6. We are dununaling HH so that he does not go forward!!! That is the intension of the song you dull chap!!! Listen between the lines…

  7. The uneducated woman who has caused employees and wildlife grief. If a minister cannot afford to pay game rangers or wildlife officials for 5 months means she can’t run such a sector. It is not sustainable practices to not pay employees and illegal for that matter. When you are hired you have contractual rights and Jean Kapata is abusing employee rights. Don’t vote PF because you will struggle for the next 5 years. You will not have food and your children will stop going to school. This woman cares for herself and pockets employee salaries.

  8. How can a person with a grade 7 be a minister? Livingston by now should be a tourism hub bringing tourists from all around the world. We can host business tourism, destination weddings, volunteer tourism, doctor work tourism, food and wine shows and trade shows at the convention center. This is forex coming into Zambia which can create jobs, pay employees on time and build other sectors. A lack of education, knowledge, skills and hands on training is what is lacking. Fire Jean Kapata and Stephen Mwansa if you want to boost this sector. They are both useless! Only there to steal money these useless chaps!

  9. Jean Kapata thinks tourism is killing animals. Taking jobs from Zambians and giving them to international companies to come to Zambia and kill hippos. Do we not have capable Zambians who can do this and earn an income? The reason is she is getting money from these licences she sells and pockets money instead of it going to benefit communities. Jean is campaigning for herself so she does not lose that safety blanket of a job she has and the reason she is begging. You give her the vote and she will continue to steal your money. You will not be paid salaries on time, you will lose your jobs and starve to death. Be wise and kick this greedy woman out.
