Nkana supporters gave striker Ronald Kampamba a thunderous welcome as he featured in the club’s 2-0 win over Mufulira Blackpool at Nkana Stadium on Saturday.
Kampamba, who has rejoined Nkana after professional stints in Egypt and Belgium, replaced Simon Bwalya just after the break much to the jubilation of home supporters.
Sate Sate’s appearance in this round 20 match of the 2016 FAZ Super Division overshadowed Walter Bwalya’s exploits that saw the striker grab a brace before missing a late penalty.
Bwalya gave Nkana a 29th minute lead when he finished a Shadrick Musonda cross with a head.
Two minutes later, Bwalya doubled the home side’s lead after converting a penalty awarded by Solwezi referee Mateyo Ngulube when Blackpool defender David Sichilima handled in the box.
Bwalya was later in the second half denied a chance to score a brace by keeper Reuben Chisala who saved his penalty after Michael Silengo hacked Shadrick Musonda in the box.
This win ensured that Nkana stayed second on the table after increasing their tally to 38 points.
