Inaugural Zambia fashion, model awards set for November

Th inaugural Zambia Fashion and Model Awards meant to recognise those who have made a significant contribution in the world of fashion and modelling is set to take place in Lusaka this November.
Zambia Fashion and Model Awards assistant director Mutale Chikoyi told the Weekend Mail in Lusaka that those to be recognised include the Fashion Blogger of the Year, Up-and-coming Designer of the Year, Designer of the Year, Make-Up Artist of the Year and Photographer of the Year.
Others to be recognised at the November 5 event set for Best Western Plus Lusaka Grand Hotel, are Male Model of the Year, Female Model of the Year, Plus-Size Model of the Year and Model of the Year which will cover both female and male.
“The Zambia Fashion and Model Awards, [an] awarding prestigious trade mark event that will incorporate fashion, music, photography and art to create a magical runway experience and recognise and award the most talented in the fashion industry,” Mutale says.
“The purpose of the awards is to honour Zambian talents who have made a significant contribution to this most discerning of industries. The show will showcase the very best of Zambian fashion talent, from designers to fashion photographers, models, stylists, make-up artists, marketers, retailers, choreographers, fashion and design students and fashion writers.”
The awards are exclusively sponsored by Best Western Plus Lusaka Grand Hotel and have thus been christened Best Western Plus Zambian Fashion and Model Awards.
