Please educate me on this one. I seem to be very ignorant on MPS distribution. I was under the impression that total MPs in Zambia is around or less than 160. Now according to Frank Bwalya, after 22 constituencies counted, PF HAS 03, UPND 44, independent 9, giving a total of 146 MPs. Now since there are 156 constituencies, this implies that the remaining 134 constituencies will only contribute 14 MPs. Please help….I may be missing something here.

Why can we not wait for the final presidential results. Number of MPS is not the winning of elections. We voted, counting has or being done and announcements are going on at the totaling centre. PF and UPND are both claiming all above 51%. The fact is UPND has done better in PF strongholds while pf in not doing fine in UPND strongholds. Mathematically that is where the issue is. As at now more than 20 pf strongholds have been announced and difference is less 20,000.

Because 93 + 44 +9= 146, so 4 members of parliament have to be accounted for to reach the figure of 150. The President nominates 8, then add the speaker and the president who are both members of parliament, the final tally is 160 members of parliament. I had to come back to clarify this. Thanks.
