    • Well, you heard it from me here first when I said that Poltics is not a technical science, but a social science. People thought that if HH did everything that Sata did , he would be president, well no, the social Zambia has moved on.

I think if HH manages to hold UPND together and set it on a path of decency, without the likes of GBM, he really stand a realistic Chance in 2021.

I think UPND should walk proud. They have made progress from the last election in 2011.

But again this is not a science, 2021 could bring new dynamics and new voters with new issues.

All the best to both EL and HH. You made each other better people. Time to now move Zambia forward together

    • Ifintu ni lungu. Congratulations Mr. President. Please forgive our brothers and sisters in southern province. Congratulations also the incoming president of Upnd mr GBM. It’s time to move on guys we the PF have carried the day. It’s time for hh to thank his southerners for their support and encourage them to support their incoming party president mr GBM. Hh this is not for you my brother.
      I thank you

    • Congrats PF and the supporters for your statement. Now, what is waiting on the other side:
      1. Stability of the kwacha
      2. IMF and its conditions

We can only hope for the best for Zambia, for hunger knows no tribe. Next month on wards Zambians prepare for the best of times ahead.

    • HH needs to rebrand himself! I used to like the man because I thought he was principled but in the end it became apparent he wanted to win all costs including having GBM as a running mate. This is where he shot himself in the foot.
Majority of voters in Zambia are women, and I don’t know that many women who would vote for GBM. Also HH and GBM treated Zambian voters like their workers forgetting they where the ones seeking a job. At the end of the day Lungu came of as one of the people-dancing around with his wife and the voters. No matter what you say, people relate to this kind of personality.
I personally feel Lungu didn’t rig the elections. So congratulations are in order.

    • This is a sweet victory for all people of Zambia. To opponents who failed to win many hearts and minds, please know that in my Father’s House, there are many mansions for all of you to be accommodated. To all selfless citizens that steadfastly stood on principles with ECL and PF, we have reasons to pride in this sweet victory. Please lets not humiliate our opponents with indecency. Their participation has strengthened democracy. They are not enemies but partners in ideas for a better country. Politics behind us now time to unite a polarizing citizenry. ECL is a mature, humble, forgiving and rational leader who believes in peace than humiliation of opponents. It is God’s will that the nation has been insulated from the undesirable.

    • We all knew ECL would eventually win.
HH needs to give chance to someone else if UPND ever want to rule Zambia.

      Well done ECL and PF

    • Congratulations H.E. ECL. However, I am sure you are aware that your next 5 years will be more challenging than the last 20 months in office. In addition to continuing with the economic challenges you faced in your previous term, looking at the Constituency Map of Zambia, I see a very dangerous regional pattern of voting, it appears to me that you will be leading a more divided Zambia than ever before, perhaps. Is it in your vision to mend the rift between the two sides that have emerged in this and the last elections? I believe you have a vision for our beloved Zambia.

    • What a shame, PF have stolen the votes. now Zambians get ready for for real hardship you have just voted in a man with no vision, brought back MMD in to power. its really a shame. very disgusting events…

    • I feel for my poor brothers and sisters…their belts will now be tighted whilst this corrupt Lazy Bum Edgar will get fatter and richer…when problems worsen he will call for a national day of prayers.

    • HH, if you give up you would have failed all the supporters. DO NOT GIVE UP ZAMBIA. The real loser is one who gives up. This is not over. You now need to collect all evidence of manipulation in these elections. There are plenty starting from the illegal occupation of minters in there offices, mismatch in a lot of results, counting, that guy in the server room, pre-marked ballot boxes, shady Lusaka votes like the ones in Kanyama, Matero, Mandevu, etc., shady dealings of one Priscilla Isaac and the entire ECZ, violence on opposition supporters, ETC, ETC…

If PF wins, the need to win clean and we will all support the legitimate democratically elected leader. This issue is far from over. In all this, let us all maintain peace. I hope the Constitutional Court will listen to all these…

    • Who the hell cares if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming

    • …..Contd
I hope the Constitutional Court will listen to all these malpractices. Even a re-run is possible as PF didnt win these elections in a democratic way. Please dont give up and file in the petition by tomorrow morning. We can face the next 5 years with this, oh, No!!! I really doubt that PF won these elections. No wonder they delayed the announcement or release of Lusaka results cause they were still trying to find the fake figures to add up to avoid a re-run. UPND leadership, please save Zambia. PF is up to no good.

    • HH man, try to be the BIGGEST and MOST GENEROUS PHILANTHROPIST Zambia has ever known. You can equally have your NAME ETCHED AMONG THE GREATS for posterity to take note if you can play your cards well outside of politics.

I think you have given it your whole and now it is time to move on and look elsewhere to make your mark. Being President is NOT the only way a gifted citizen can contribute to the building of our Country. Just take heart and don’t take politics too personally. There is always a life outside of politics awaiting.

    • Where is the Retaining Officer Lusaka, PF update the nation? It seems he has failed to stomach what he has presided over.

    • Its a sin to rich in Zambia.
Worse sin is to be born Tonga.
I feel sorry Tongas, if HH was Lenje he could have already been president.

    • To all UPND members and supporters

Mr lungu has been declared as the winner in this year’s election after scoring just over 50% .

We wish to thank you for all your time and resources that you put in into the campaign. We implore you not to despair or get discouraged. In an election there can only be one winner and for now Edgar is as declared.

This election was marred by a lot of irregularities. The PF has systematically rigged this election, and they have temporarily succeeded.

We as a party will take every legal means available to claim what rightly belongs to us, through the constitutional court.

Meanwhile we request you to remain calm and leave everything in the hands of the top leadership of the party.

We shall constantly keep you updated with every development…

    • We as a party will take every legal means available to claim what rightly belongs to us, through the constitutional court.

Meanwhile we request you to remain calm and leave everything in the hands of the top leadership of the party.

We shall constantly keep you updated with every development. We are still in contention, they have won but they have not ended the war.

      Let’s remain united and focussed.

      We are still in contention.

      UPND-Spokesperson
      Charles Kakoma.

    • @2.1
Mwanawasa said that Tongas are like buttock always at the back, they will never be in front and will never rule Zambia. Is mwanawasa being proved correct?

    • @Nostradamus so you wanted him to be President because he is Tonga? Last time I voted for him, I thought he was great! This time around he disappointed me because of his choice of friends – seen through tribal lenses. He abandoned his comrades to run with GBM, Nevers, Katoloshi etc. Any even my choice never made it.

  1. Congratulations EL. Now dear Zambians. Get ready for 20 hours of load shedding a day for the next 5 years now that the elections are over.

    • Gesssss, and I thought campaigns are over! Should we also get ready for 5 years of MORE COMPLAINING and B!TCHING without offering any concrete solutions? Try another strategy please, you might start attracting a new crop of voters!

CONGRATS ECL. TWICE THEY GANGED UP ON YOU AND, TWICE YOU HAVE BEATEN THEM!!!!

    • To chi hater called Back Teeth – – – -We are celebrating as you GNASHHHHH your teeth for next 5 years. . . .

  2. Congratulations for your Hollow victory.

With out abuse of public funds and stealing votes this was not possible.

    Now this will be interesting.

    • Gessss…, are you two still at it. Campaigns are OVER you LOSERS, move on!

You failed to beat him even last year when your “muzungu wopusa” was in charge of the same Govt resources you are ranting about. What made you think it will be easier for you to beat him this time when he is an incumbent President?

TRY TO BE GOOD LOSERS FOR A CHANGE!!!!

    • Who the hell cares if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming?

    • A hollow victory is still a victory. It shows democracy and free and fair elections. Remember the George Bush and Al Gore election, a small margin actually shows no rigging is involved. When the final whistle is blown at a football match, even if the score is 1-0, it is still a win. The issue now is to stop this tribal voting and to work hard with the PF Government to ensure Zambia moves forward economically. Stop wasting tax payers money with foolish investigations into false rigging elections. Move on people!

  3. Congratulations sir.

A quick reminder inflation stands at 20% plus and most likely going to rise further looking at the poor fiscal discipline experienced thus far

The price of essential commodities remains high for the simple common man

We also do not know if at all we have a police force or men sitting as cadres but in uniform

The cost of money is too high 45% interest on loans for the common man. We dont know if at all your victory is a blessing to this country of ours or its a curse.

The group of leaders in your party are always taunting southerners a situation that has created alot of tribal tensions in this gorgeous country of ours

Zambia is for all Zambians and must be valued and managed as such. May Jehovah God intervene and may HE protect this land every…

    • we v gone thru this way before, so dont tell us of things we know; we shall survive. even if it was HH who won things wud not have changed

    • cant happen because the government is made up of civil servants well literate and educated to handle these issues. its advanced than a village set up.

    • Who the hell care if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming?

    • Who the hell cares if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming?

  4. Ifintu ni lungu.
    I thank you

    • Why should the Southern should be forgiven by Lungu and not the Northern for not voting the other way round. Most likely you dislike of the Southern in your PF goes on.

    • @Zedpoorpeople If people had voted in Northern areas the way people voted in Southern Province the loss would have been far much worse.

    • The point is no-one should apologize for voting whoever they decide to vote for. PF should just rejoice, since the truth is that every time the Retaining Officer mentioned the constituency everyone knew who the front runner would come out to be. Both PF and UPND have polarized voters. It is up to PF to start closing this gap or open the gap further through selected job distribution and other negative devices, the choice is theirs. Our Children will find this trend at its highest, unless PF reflects on what could be brewing underneath as they celebrate.

  5. Congrats. Let’s unite as Zambians. No vindictiveness. We are all Zambian and therefore all winners. It’s democracy that wins

  6. Well done my president HH! You have fought the good fight. Thank you for making our democracy mature despite being intimidated, no ZNBC coverage amongst other ill-treatment that you received. Sir now you deserve a good rest and let the Zambians who are celebrating face the wrath of IMF conditions, electricity, wage freezes, fuel hikes, souring food prices. Let them celebrate!

    • @Lady Gaga, the IMF Program for Zambia which is similar to the one in Mozambique,Nigeria and Ghana was coming whether it was HH who won! In all these countries I have mentioned it is not Lungu who is President but the economies are commodity based like ours. One of the things which will come with this is some forex to cushion drops in revenue from copper which will help to stabilize the value of the kwacha and of course fiscal consolidation where govt expenditures will be reduced the same way HH was preaching to do!! Electricity prices will go up but in stages and PF had put that in their manifesto without hiding it!! Some food prices may even go down especially imported ones!! So it is not about HH or Lungu but a long term problem of lack of economic diversification!!

    • Even if HH was elected we could have faced the same. You think he could have used his money? HH has performed well bcoz of the money GBM pumped into campains.

    • bwafyaa, you are spot on. This issue is that now PF has the mandate, let us see how they handle that diversification of the economy. The borrowing if not abetted will chock most Zambians to a point they have not seen before. The issue which should worry the PF the most is their arrogance to listen to views at variate to theirs. The economy based on supporting consumption is never sustainable, and an economy who has its managers at the forefront of enriching themselves is a bigger deserter. We can only hope PF will transform this time around, which is strongly not likely to be the case. However, we all hope for the best; before professionals start finding themselves on buses and planes into other countries.

  7. There are plenty lessons to learn from these elections. Things have not been OK.
We should never take our people for granted. All Zambians are equal and must be treated as such.

  8. A remarkable day in Zambia’s history.
We PF supporters always knew this would happen.
We worked tirelessly to lobby Zambians on social media. Over 75% of those contacted, said they would vote for PF.
I personally wrote to HH, giving him advice on the mining sector, the arrogant guy did not even acknowledge my mail. SERVE HIM RIGHT!!!

  9. Congratulations President Lungu and PF, not forgetting Mr Hichilema for putting up such a good fight, and all those that participated in this election, congrats! – you’re all winners! God bless Zambia!

  10. Know you not “That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?” Job 20:5

  11. Congrats to PF and EL. To UPND and HH never give up, soldier on and try in 2021 and continue to sit on the PF shoulders to keep them awake. One Zambia One Nation and we are all one regardless of our political opinions.

    • Are you sure? HH to try again? The man has been trying for the past ten years, let him try something different. Let UPND have a convention and elect a new leadership. It was simply embarrassing to witness the fact the main opposition in the country did not practice internal democracy.

  12. Congratulations EL. Congratulations HH. Congratulations to the rest of the candidates.

Now HH, quickly strategise, go for a convention, get re-elected and immediately tour the country to thank everyone that voted for you (not necessarily in this order). This has been a very good and close fight.

  13. MMD chief bootlicker, I like your comment. Very constructive. Let us move forward. For as long as HH keeps the team together, I think he is guaranteed of success in 2021.

  14. There is no way Lungu won these elections. It is clear there was collusion between the ECZ and PF thugs. It had already been decided that they would hold on to power regardless. When they saw they were on the losing path they triggered the rigging process. No way could the votes have taken so long to count. A lot was happening in the background. Some people are celebrating the continued path to misery – only Lungu, his cronies and treasury bandits will continue to eat from your heads – for how long, I do not know. There is no legitimacy of government. It is this kind of primitive behaviour to cling to power at all costs that has brought strife to many a country in Africa.

  15. congrats walk the talk. and HH thanks for giving PF the run for their money. Advise to HH, forget about going to the courts or petitioning the election or even funny demonstartion. These will finish you as they will amount to nothing. You have made some in roads. 5 five years is very little time go quickly on the drawing board and congratulate you friend Lungu. That is maturity and you will win a lot of respect by doing that. UPND, stick with HH.

  16. HH LOSES AGAIN: HH BUTCHERED AGAIN; HH HUMBLED; HH’S UPND TUMBLES AGAIN; HH GIVEN A 2ND SLAP;
HH NO MATCH; TRIBAL VOTING GOONS DENIED.
    ===============================================
    HH concede!

  17. Twalimyebele ati mphaka fye litente imwe ati iyo we are winning. Politics are not for the faint hearted ECL is the man. Alalila uyo chikonko mwikate

  18. We thank You God Almighty; we thank you that you have not put to shame those who Trust in You. You heard our cry and gave us PEACE. Glory be Your Name. HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT LUNGU, WALK TALL, CALL ON HIM NIGHT AND DAY, HE IS YOUR KEEPER. Congratulations, never in a moment did I doubt your condition before God!

HH, Chin up. You fought well!

  19. Welcome to another failed state in Africa!

Zambians will live to regret this day and curse this sham of democracy for generations to come. The slide into dictatorship, corruption and massive poverty of the majority of people is now inevitable and irreversible.

27 years of KK and no food on the shelves obviously did not teach them a lesson. Now it will have to be learned all over again.

    • We were not there during Kaunda days, but we remember GBM telling us that he can get contracts from Zesco even as a minister because tendalama shabanoko. We have no problem with HH, but his running mate is a rogue. Get rid of him and we’re definitely voting for HH.

    • Keep seeing your country as a failed state whilst foreigners are making billions of dollars from your ‘failed’ state. Don’t you honestly see anything good in the way the road network has been opened up in Zambia? If HH had the solutions he claims to have, his companies should have:
      1. Highest paid workers in Zambia
      2. Employed the largest work force in the private sector
      3. Exporting beef even to Europe & USA
      4. Helped to have the cost of beef rereduced like Dangote did with cement.
That is the sonta he should have been giving those asking him sonta epowa bomba.

    • Who the hell cares if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming

    • @ditto – TOO LATE! You have let a thief steal your clothes, so are you going to go around naked looking for him?

What is going to happen now is we are going to see salaries not paid, prices of basics like mealie meal double or even more, load shedding and huge rises in cost of zesco power, and the Kwacha losing value at top speed. And because of this investment in Zambia will stop, businesses will close and thousands of people will lose their jobs. We are headed Zimbabwe way.

And the IMF will offer to bail us out, but only if 50% government employees are fired, cabinet cut to 30, zesco goes up 300%, no more farmer input program and fuel price doubled.

What do you think Zambians will do then? They will protest, and this government will send in the police and army with teargas…

  20. Congrats Your Excellency ! May God Continue blessing and protect you as you commence the execution of duties. Jesus Christ the son of the Living God is with you.

  21. Now wait a few weeks and watch the price hikes. let nobody celebrating now complain when fuel, mealie meal and electricity prices go up.

  22. History repeats itself. Just like in Ivory Coast elections have been stolen from the Winner. This is what Gbagbo did in Ivory Coast and this is what Lungu is doing in Zambia. Even though Concourt is a Lungu appointed Court HH has to petetion the results but is there hope? The rigging was done thoroughly and Zambia will be unstable from now onwards. Lungu will be an illegitimate President and the economy and people of Zambia will suffer. Cry the beloved Zambia.

    • @34 Brown, please do not compare Zambia to Cote d’Ivoire. I can see you hardly understand the African continent especially Sub Sahara Africa. Gbagbo had won that election but the French badly wanted to install their stooge so they caused confusion and amplified propaganda against Gbagbo to show that he was a bad person. Just observe the instability in Franch Speaking Black Africa!! Why?Why do you think Ouatara transfered him quickly to the Hague? It was to remove his relevancy to the political equation in Cote d’Ivoire bcoz he knew as long as he was there he posed a problem to his political scheme since he commanded a lot of support! In our case HH was trying to do a similar thing, courting international media, writing to international organisations etc!

  23. How shameful it is for all you wishing calamity on Zambia. The suffering you are spelling touches every Zambian we dearly love. Speak hope and not downfall. Do you think HH is a messiah, only him can reverse world economic crisis?

    • That has always been the problem with our colleagues in the opposition, they have always thought HH was the messiah. Please find a LEADER chapwa, kwamana, kufelile. kwasila!…nomba with the inclusion of the likes of GBV, mwaisowa nobachangu!

  24. Zambians are FOOLS! Now coz of Lungu and he’s bunch of Baboons! Our children and mostly their children will never see the zambia we’ve known when we were children! Very very sad!

  25. All the cartel burried. Mmembe and nchito to pay for their sins alone. My prayer is let hh exit politics so Zambia can be united. Our relatives on southern thinks politics is about tribe. They don’t know democracy.
Congrats @kudos senior citizens mjb real Katondo boys kakolwe and indeed all the big brainers in the pf circles.
    I thank you.

  26. Congrats Mr President! Their sadistic voting hasn’t worked; it never worked even in 2015. Let the United Party for National Dundumwezi reflect on their tribal approach to politics with sober minds.

  27. MULENGA SATA, GUY SCOT, MILES SAMPA, GBV_M , SHINONO, LUPANDO, FORMER PASTOR NOT FACTORS AFTER ALL!
    ============================================
The people’s choice; congratulations PF, I hope you have learnt one or two lessons out of these polls. Don’t take people for granted. As for all those who think people voted for them on account of their party’s or personal popularity should take a leaf from PF’s losing parliamentary candidates and the goons captioned above. I take this opportunity to condemn the so called learned chaps like Dr. Simutanyi and VJ for misleading HH’s goons. I applaud ZNBC for their professionalism and condemn Muvi TV and Phoenix for their sensational reporting.

    • Dr. Simutanyi is NOT learned. He’s like PROF Atanga, you can’t find their PhDs documented any where!

    • I agree with you 100%. Its a big lesson to these people mentioned (MULENGA SATA, GUY SCOT, MILES SAMPA, GBM , SHINONO, LUPANDO, PS MUMBA, MRS MWANAWASA, !); They all acted quickly and out of anger to join UPND, and UPND will soon disintegrate – there is noway this party can be held together with such people displacing the founders. It also proves that PF is not a one-man party, they all work together as a team, and besides its not a tribal party. Mr Sata (MHSRIP) must be rejoicing seeing the Party that he formed come out even much stronger.

  28. Knock, knock, knock. Who is knocking? It is me , Zambia. Come in please. Yes, madam Zambia; what can I do for you? Sir, I have been mismanaged for the past five years. I have consumed all my reserves and my debts are choking me. I need help. Ok, Ms Zambia; you have come to the right place. However, our help has conditions; are you ready to meet them? I can do anything; even going to bed with you. No, no Ms Zambia, not that. We are in business you see. Now listen: you need to stop interfering with the exchange rate. We believe it should be ZMW20.00 to USD1.00. Your fuel subsidy must be taken out immediately. Fuel should be ZMW20.00 per litre. ZESCO tariff should be up 100%. No subsidy on mealie meal. Should be ZMW180.00/25kg. We will give you the money.

    • No problem with that as long as civil service is reduced to half, number of ministers are reduced to 12 with no deputy ministers, PS reduced to 24 for all ministries and departments, Zamtel sold again, President undertakes not to travel out of Zambia for more than once a year and all other travels are banned completely + similar measures taken to control unproductive government expenses.
On top of that ministers shall be appointed on merit (nobody who does not have a degree shall get any ministerial position), embassies staff reduced by half, laws of the land reviewed, accountability and fair application of laws be introduced.

    • Get a life….you are just one of the educated Zambians struggling in foreign countries. Please work had for your kids (if you have any). HH will NEVER improve your life. Zambia has abundant opportunities only lazy learned people like you keep on cursing our country. Do you know that Zambia has one of the cheapest electricity tariffs in the SADC region? YES we need to increase our tariffs to assist in managing the sytem and improving the infrastructure. And check for the price of Mealie Meal is SA and then come and comment.

  29. The nation has spoken and now for continued peace, everyone needs to come together and forge ahead. We have a lot to accomplish and not enough bank to be fighting one another. For all who are disgruntled the Supreme court is there to petition in a lawful manner and not by describing loss/irregularities as a coup and enticing people to act. We are a sovereign nation, and have enjoyed peace and are known to be one of Africa’s democratic country’s, let us uphold ourselves to a higher standard.

Congratulations PF! “ONE ZAMBIA, ONE NATION”

  30. CONGRATULATIONS MY PRESIDENT. YOU ARE SUCH A LOVED MAN. YOU IDENTIFY YOURSELF WITH THE MAJORITY. MAY GOD BLESS YOU MORE AND MORE. MAY GOD GIVE YOU MORE WISDOM TO RULE HIS PEOPLE.

  34. Don’t read anything from UPND people let them go feed there cows. PF whichever way victory is ours.
HH and GBM learn to respect the people

  35. We thank the Almighty God for having made it possible again for this humble charismatic leader to be president of this peaceful nation. Congratulations Your Excellency and continue walking in the shadows
of the Most High for you shall surely achieve greater things under God’s guidance. God bless you and God bless Zambia.

    • Who the hell care if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming?

    • @Marie-Anne. you are taken in a toll of anger. your model of behavior is mathematically indifferent from that of Mushipe. I have always told you anger not good for your health.
Bush niwe utilimina kalundwe kuno luapula, nangula niwe usakila amakutu. Nga nimbowa tuipala fye fwebene. nindo ukolanda webo.
Just make sure to conduct yourself to several jobs to survive where you are!

    • @marie. IMF comes in when a country wants to access its funds to rectify the economy. Some of us old enough remember how KK “divorced” the IMF and the economy got even worse. The first thing FTJ did was to go cap in hand to the IMF and beg the IMF to come back. There has been a lot infrastructure development especially schools and skills training centres and Zambia is bound to benefit from an educated and trained population in the next few years. We borrowed to subsidize consumption especially mealie meal coupons in the past.

  37. Zambians are FOOLS! Now coz of Lungu and he’s bunch of Baboons! Our children and mostly their children will never see the zambia we’ve known when we were children! Very very sad!

  38. Congratulations to President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front (PF) – Slumber not because UPND will be formidable in Parliament. Do not underestimate them, the people of Zambia refused to trust GBM and the perceived cartel, this election was only for HH to lose.

    House Keeping for UPND
Get rid of GBM and the PF Rejects
    Get rid of cult personalities

And give the PF a run for their money, a robust opposition is healthy in a democracy.

Well done PF! Well done UPND

  39. Congratulations H.E. ECL. However, I am sure you are aware that your next 5 years will be more challenging than your 20 months in office. In addition to continuing with the economic challenges you faced in your previous term, looking at the Constituency map of Zambia I see a very dangerous regional pattern of voting, it appears to me that you will be leading a more divided Zambia than ever before, perhaps. Is it in your vision to mend the rift between the two sides that have emerged in this and the last elections? I believe you have a vision for our beloved Zambia.

  40. We have put the final nail in the head of that perpetual loser…….what is his name again…….oh yes..hechi hechi! Rest in confusion!

  41. At least the cartel is now dead and buried. Masebo, Kabimba, the dog seller, Nchito are now unemployed -yippee! RB has been vindicated.

  42. There is nothing new from these elections since you have the same person who already occupy state house.
ask your self have been eating the fruits in this govt for the last five years… or you have been struggling?
if you were not struggling..then good for you.

    • Who the hell care if you are driven by emotions? In Zambia we do not have social counsellors, get a life and move on! Free education from preschool to University? Are you dreaming?

  43. * CONGRATULATIONS ECL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *
    *****************************************
Your hard work has paid off. Congratulations mwana! God’s favour is around you. Committing a day to the lord in Zambia was a milestone; completing the Kalabo road was a milestone; ascending to the PF presidency was a milestone; the journey to national development is a milestone.
Becoming a president of this country is a milestone. We have trust and hope that you will deliver Zambia to greater heights. Seek the face of the lord and he will not disappoint you. GBU!

  44. Congratulation Mr President we have done it without being tribal. HH got respectable votes from Bembaland and Eastern compared to Southern 200 against 33.000 “what a shame”.

  45. From the way the Holy Spirit manifested in response to the National Prayers on 24/7/16 I knew that God had chosen President Lungu for special task to unite & lead this nation in this season chosen by the Lord. May the Lord be with you as you govern this nation in every sphere & to help you deal with the ugly head of tribalism that the devil is trying to raise against us. We are united as Zambians & we’ve lived together for centuries. Not even colonialism could divide us. The same blood flows in all of us & the same God takes care of all of us. Let us unite as ONE. God Bless Zambia in Jesus’ name! Amen

    • @The chosen one. If it was God who was responsible for ECL’s votes then he was very mean or tight fisted with them. Why only give him 0.3% above the threshold?

  46. Truth be told, Edgar Lungu has won these elections convincingly. The Tongas have been taught a lesson they will never forget. Tribalistic will not take them anywhere. Meanwhile all the refraffs, Guy Scott, GBM, Mile Sampa, The stupid Mulenga Sata, Maureen Mwanawasa, useless pastor Nevours Mumba have been taught how to behave responsibly. Hatred takes nowhere but to hell.if you see a presidential candidate moving about, especially if he is seen at mulungushi and asking to be the one representing his party as opposed to his agents, just know that he has lost, if he had won, the system (OP) would have reached out to him and accorded him the security befitting an in coming president or just asked to stay home. in 2008 Michael Chilufya Satawas at Mulungushi HUNTING for Danny Kalale, the system…

  47. Message to Zambian young people, you have lost an opportunity to change: inflation of 20+% , borrowing rates 45% , external debt of $9.75 billion dollars, copper driven economy, perpetual energy problems, very poor health care, extremely high illiteracy rates, Too big government (of old and recycled ministers) with duplicate roles. Corruption in public service (RTSA, ZP, ECZ, courts), lack of skills among the young, lack of accountability by citizenry. This is very bad news. Zambia will remain a forest where clever people will come to take natural resources and dump waste why the president is dancing or drinking. Unbelievable!

    • @x
Economic is about numbers, allocation of scarcity resources among the alternative uses. we will improve and do better. Whom are you kidding Mr X?

  48. HH you ran a good race and that’s what democracy is all about. Thank you for your willingness to serve the people of our beloved Zambia. You are a great fighter you came very close to being elected. I believe given another chance, you will be victorious. Remember MCS, he was a “Kalusa” but that did not stop him. He kept coming after them. Just like you, he was on fire to serve the people of Zambia. Again, just like you, each election he lost he came closer to docking at State House than ever before. Then one election in 2011 he successfully docked. You too, perhaps HH2021, will land at State House, if the cartel that has surrounded you gives you another chance. One day you might lead our beloved Zambia. For now, please do me and other well-meaning Zambians a favour. If you haven’t yet…

    • HH should practices internal democracy in UPND. After trying for ten years, I think it is best for him to retire and try something else. Yes Sata tried so many times but died in office a few years later. Perhaps the stress of competing and losing so many times affected his health and contributed to his early death. Not everybody can be a president. HH made some bad decisions which highlighted his unsuitability for the presidency and I dont think that will change in 5 years time.

  49. When all is said and done, we are all Zambians. The President elect is a Zambian, just like all the others who participated in this election. Let’s learn to work hard as individuals and in that way our country will develop. Mortals come, mortals go. No mortal will create heaven on earth.

  50. …If you haven’t yet done so, please call ECL to congratulate him. This will go a long way. It might even be translated into more than the 100000 votes, for 2021, the votes you needed to beat H.E. ECL today.

  51. Good job Zambia! The government should monitor closely the blotted votes in the South and North West because those regions cannot outnumber CB towns! What a shame these guys! Anyway, thank God. To be president you got to be supported by all! The characteristics of insults and looking down on other people and gross hatred for people who don’t speak your language (also seen here throughout this process) will not take you anywhere! You will continue to be losers all the time!

  52. To all UPND supporters

The next few days are for PF to celebrate their victory. It’s their right.
To all UPND members and supporters

Mr lungu has been declared as the winner in this year’s election after scoring just over 50% .

We wish to thank you for all your time and resources that you put in into the campaign. We implore you not to despair or get discouraged. In an election there can only be one winner and for now Edgar is as declared.

This election was marred by a lot of irregularities. The PF has systematically rigged this election, and they have temporarily succeeded.

We as a party will take every legal means available to claim what rightly belongs to us, through the constitutional court.

Meanwhile we request you to remain calm and leave everything in the…

  53. Economic is about numbers, allocation of scarcity resources among the alternative uses. we will improve and do better. Whom are you kidding Mr X?

    • Its true economics is about numbers. Right now the numbers are very bad for ECL to morally continue ballooning them even further. If I’m kidding, could you please provide the facts for all to see and comment as I have provided mine.

    • @x
Mr X, you are correct with your statistics but I said we will improve and do better. Numbers can be changed. we are diversifying our economy, so lets be hopeful. there is something you and me can do, lets exchange contacts come up with workable concepts for our people rather than to install fear in them. fear always alarms the markets.

    • I respect your comments and cautious approach concerning foreign investment in the country. I’m a patriotic Zambian. My biggest struggle is to accept seeing so many opportunities being lost by choosing very bad leadership who can’t call a spade a spade. Of course, I can provide working ideas if someone can listen we can discuss.

  54. Congratulations HH you are a hero, you have fought a good fight despite rigging but still managed to get what you got. Actually you are a winner in this election, others used taxpayers money to campaign.

    • Well written @ Mateo. I feel for the ordinary Zambian. The one who is most happy when he is given a chitenge, a few kwacha for chibuku and he is happy to cast the vote for them. The one who has known nothing better than poverty. Nothing better than planning for the future of his children. Nothing better than dust and being ill treated from mini bus kaponyas to kingdom come. So the ndwiii continues……so very sad.

  55. The result of this vote is confirmation that in Africa voting has nothing to do with real issues on the ground. This behavioral pattern poses the biggest danger for the sustainability of continent and its people’s future survival. We can change this.

    • @X earlier on you were correct to say ‘extremely high illiteracy rates’. almost 50% of our population is young people and what’s worse they are a subject of reflection of such rankings of illiteracy. This part to an explanation that elections in Zambia are never rigged. We vote based NOT on issues but on degree of “likeness”. If they like you Mr X, they will vote for you.
We have an opportunity to change and improve this through good civic education. And we have borrowed a lot on this component. Let’s be hopeful for future, Zambia, Africa there is all we have.

  56. Where are the rest of the results? By the way, I wish to congratulate UPND supporters and those that voted for HH for taking on the battle gallantly. There are a lot of cowards in Zambia whose recourse is to settle for mediocrity and thieving all the time. Remain strong, otherwise the country that we know as Zambia will be further destroyed under the clueless PF.

    • What good losers do, is to concede and go to the grass roots, engage with them and say thank you to the people, beg and appeal to work as hard days lay ahead of them (politically). anger and ruddiness and unruly will NOT help you. Find innovation of conducting business differently. Mr. Sata each time he lost he calmed his followers.
I haven’t said this is simple to do, it’s leadership!

  57. Hatred, envy, jealousy, vulgar language and evil worship kills and it has proved its wrath! Cartel, M’membe, tribalists, where are you now?
Congrats to President Lungu and entire PF family. Let’s work and transform our beatiful country and shame the wicked ones.

  58. You are really in pain ai. Well ECL is continuing no matter what you write. I am happy it is ECL at state house not your hh the land grabber. How was he going to improve the lives of the poor, by grabbing their land. HH respects animals more than human beings. If he can treat his fellow tongas like that what more people from other tribes. HH has no respect for anyone he thinks he is the greatest thing that ever happened to Zambia.

    • You have just given these people another five years to fatten themselves more and to make themselves richer. WE CHIPUBA WE

  59. At last, Dr Chishimba Kambwili and Frank Bwalya are proved right that the resignations of GBM, Guy Scott, Miles Sampa and Mulenga Sata from the party and or government were not factors or had no impact on the government.

  60. You bloggers suggesting that the election was rigged in Lusaka you like dreaming a lot and I think you will never stop. During campaigns you were busy comforting your selves that Lusaka is no longer a PF strong hold, well after the election results am sure you have seen that you were wrong. But you don’t want to believe you have again chosen to dream. Anyway its okay continue to dream maybe one day it will dawn. The truth is that people in Lusaka really voted and the greater majority for lungu so the rigging issue is out. ala kuwayawayafye .

  61. Congratulation PF and ECL…… may God bless thee Mr. President….development forward….. to HH congrats too, we can see that democracy is working in Zambia and a small shaft in Zambians wanting change at a slow pace is there…hope PF will use this to work even harder

  62. Congratulation Mr. president!!
God exalt those who abase themselves and confound those who seem to be wise in the eyes of the world.continue to stay humble and ask for God’s wisdom to rule this great nation-Zambia.do not give your God rest until he establishes his redemptive purpose for this country.always stay close to him and he will continue to establish you.To Mr. hh, well done to you also for providing checks and balances, but ,consider the following; 1 educate the southerners and westerners to refrain from tribal politics 2 be ware of white/western world dependency, Zambia is not ready for white masters again, those days are over. 3 change your running mate 4 stay humble and God will exalt you.

  63. Your editorial is *****ic. The Zambian people need a calm , educated and intelligent leader not a drunk moron. Zambians are to be blamed for their country remaining poor and backward. The bembas are not educated people. They elect a drunk who has no vision for his country but is Museveni and mugabe lap dog.

  64. Congrats ECL and PF. It is always said pride comes before a fall, confidence is an asset and over- confidence a liability. This perpetual superiority complex inherent in UPND continues to haunt them. They have always thought Watchdog ,Muvi TV,Phoenix radio and Simutanyi’s opinions are gospel truth. Now see where you are again. It is only a fool who crosses the same river at the same place and gets bitten by the same crocodile. Guys reach out to other tribes. All tribes of course have their level of tribalism but yours is ……..? What you should know is that the majority of the country has ganged up against you to teach you a lesson. Do an introspection. Tonga’s are bigger than UPND and you have played a very big role in making Zambia what it is today. But what has happened to you?…

  65. Moses there you go again with your usual hatred for Bembas. The Presido is Nsenga and VP Lozi but all you see is Bemba. God forbid you will die of anger. Education is useful only when applied. How come you the educated fail to scheme workable plans to make you leaders. Like it or not we have inherent and natural leadership qualities and this is well documented even in history books which you the so called educated do not poses. By the way which census showed you are the educated ones? We are fighters who take the risks which you can not dare take but you want to join in the spoils. Go jump in the lake and let level headed Tongas progress you moron.

  66. The voting outcome of the refrendum is a true reflection of the presidential vote. Lungu urged people to vote in the referendum while the opposition said don’t.

The referendum vote was a flop with no rigging to correct it unlike the presidential vote.

  67. Lesa ni malyotola indeed ! HH will never enjoy his money earned dubiously by robbing the Zambian people on how he acquired it in a short period. He has completely left us in suspense with no explanation? God Almighty is taking it back to the people he robbed.
