According ro resuts, UPND won the presidential as well as parliamentary, mayoral and 16 out of 17 wards in the Constituency but only three councillors have so far been declared winners four days the electorates voted.
UPND supporters lost patience and closed the totalling centre with journalists as well as monitors and police officers locked inside the centre as they demanded for announcing and declaration of winners.
It was at this that UPND supporters roughed up and nearly punched some electoral officers while turning chairs upside down and almost destroyed the computer which was transmitting results.
One UPND cadre almost attacked Livingstone District Electoral officer Vivian Chikoti but alert police officers stopped the act as all stakeholders inside the totalling centre were prevented from leaving the premises.
The cadres, who issued a lot of insults to electoral officers, wondered why Livingstone, which only has a single Constituency, was taking four days to conclude the process of announcing and declaring winners.
In response, ECZ assistant returning officer Wezi Manda said the electronic system of verifying results was lengthy and this was why officials were delaying to to announce and declare winners.
After intensified pressure from cadres, ECZ oficials yielded to demands from cadres and started verifying results manually and assured stakeholders that they would speedy up the entire process.
Earlier in the day, UPND supporters raised concern over missing figures on their candidates and the matter was later rectified.

Its safe to say EL has deliberately not released the results in order to cause panic, mayhem and confusion. Everywhere there is tension and people are on the edge. Lungu will use this to his advantage and what he wants. He wants to see fights breakout, people killing and attacking each other. This is not the way for someone in a leadership role to act. This is very irresponsible for the man who is supposed to be in charge of a nation. He would prefer to see people blundering each other to death. ECZ are so irresponsible and those 3 culprits need to go to jail for 3 years for tampering charges. Lungu just has to agree there is too much evidence to implicate him and his PF. He is looking more like a fool than anything else not only in Zambia but international too. Zambia is a complete mess!!
ECZ must recount votes in all Lusaka constituencies for goodness sake. Lungu does not want a recount becoz he knows it will open a can of worms. The rigging was wide spread but Lusaka was most affected. With the likes of Mbao stealing votes from HH in Kanyama and Samuel Chavula hacking ECZ computers to take away votes from HH and premarked ballots flying all over the place ECZ and PF have rigged this election. Let the Courts settle this matter. If Lungu wins after the re-count so be it. We want our votes to count in this election.
There were 9 presidential hopefuls in the race and only UPND are so gymnastic that you can’t for a moment know whether they are upright or upside down. We REFUSE to be called docile because it was NOT the leadership of UPND that picked or influenced me to go and vote. So DO NOT INCITE ME TO OVER REACT FOR YOUR SAKE. Zambia is bigger than UPND. People of Zambia let’s learn to appreciate. We had KK, FTJ chiluba, mwanawasa,lupiya,sata and now lungu. If Christ Jesus was condemned who’s lungu. Even if we are to put HH into office you will be the very people to condemn HH. Go lungu go to you are a perfect leader for Zambia.
HH must accept defeat and pump money stolen from privatisation back into the system. Catherine, I did think this is the main reason Zambians have rejected HH. Lusaka struggled to choose him for the same reason, memories are fresh and Zambians who can read the history behind him will not choose him. While so many young people admire his riches, many old enough and “learned” (I will not use the educated term to signify earned lessons and experience rather than desk knowledge) remember enough on the Privatisation front. I personally dont care if HH is a successful businessman, but do not wish him as my President. I simply do not trust him.

It’s over and I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to make a wise decision. Now HH must know that it’s not every Bemba name that can bring a Bemba vote. Quality matters. Some Bemba names are contaminated.
Now the real hard work begins. Lungu has to set up his own vision and not the Sata vision he inherited.
