Mr Hichilema says Zambia is a sovereign state which has its own laws adding that the Ugandan President is out of order to comment on the country’s political situation.
He says the election results are being challenged in the courts and that Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s comments are tantamount to contempt of court as the matter is in court.
And Mr Hichilema has since called on the Ugandan high commission to render a public apology on behalf of their president over utterances that UPND should stop fanning violence and accept the elections results.
Mr Hichilema cautions that the Ugandan President will not be allowed to introduce his style of leadership in Zambia as it is detrimental to development.
Upon his arrival in Zambia, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni warned the opposition to stop fanning violence and accept the August, 2016 elections, a claim that the opposition has refuted.

There are three UPND Petetions in courts including the original Petetion opposing the re-election of Lungu. Concourt has not declared the Winner of the Election becoz the Petetion has not been heard and disposed off. Concourt erred in dismissing the Petetion based on a time technicality. This is illegal and there is no clause in our Constitution which mandates Concourt to dismiss the Petetion on a technicality The Petetion is therefore alive and in Concourt until properly disposed off. Until then the matter Is subjudice and Mu7 should not have talked about it publicly the way he did. Mu7 was also interfering with the internal affairs of the host country and that is not allowed protocol wise. HH is spot on this one.
Courts don’t declare winners of elections but Ecz. The only thing they can do if possible is to nulify and request Ecz to organise fresh elections. Ecz will then go to govt to ask for funding and then advertise for companies to to print ballots. Meanwhile Upnd will be wingying and suspicious and start chasing the wind. It’s a long process so just forget about petitioning.

Comment: Some comments show the level of understanding on International Relations. A visiting President cannot order an Opposition Party to accept elections. In what capacity? Is he a chairman of SADC or AU. Even then, it should be done diplomatically. He should not take sides. Museveni is not a Zambian. Period.

The case of the 2016 elections are not in any court. The ICC does not hear cases pertaining to elections in sovereign states except in cases where there is violence. HH has proved once again his desperation for power at all costs including shaming his country.

Surely we must all respect UPND as the biggest opposition party offering checks and balances(if ever there are) to the government.
