Nkana stay second

Nkana on Sunday consolidated their second position in the FAZ Super Division after overcoming Napsa Stars 2-1 in a delayed Week 31 match played at Nkana Stadium.

Striker Walter Bwalya and winger Simon Bwalya scored for Nkana with Napsa’s Collins Sikombe netting the consolation.

Nkana led after 18 minutes with winger Bwalya cleverly beating keeper Philip Banda with a low shot that by passed several players in the box.

Walter scored Nkana’s second on the day and his 20th league goal when a rounded up a defender before unleashing a powerful shot.

Napsa cut the deficit to 2-1 when Sikombe scored from close range.

Walter had a headed goal ruled out for offside on 40 minutes.

After the break, Napsa made several futile attempts to come back into the game but were unlucky.

The win pushes Nkana to 63 points, five behind Zanaco after 31 matches played.
