Ajax Cape Town have completed the signing of Zanaco striker Aubrey Funga.
Funga becomes Ajax Cape Town’s second Zambian acquisition over the last two months following his Zanaco club mate and midfielder Roderick Kabwe’s arrival at the start of the month.
“Ajax Cape Town are delighted to announce the signing of Zambian midfielder Aubrey Funga,” Ajax stated.
“Funga, who along with Rodrick Kabwe spearheaded Zanaco FC to MTN FAZ Super League glory last year by scoring 24-goals between them in all competitions, has committed his services to the Urban Warriors up until 2021.”
Comment:It is sad reading what has remained of Zanaco FC to me it will end up like Lesister City from champions to the underdogs again guys you should be princepled like Vardy to pay back your supporters trust me you will go with a curse in your careers dont abandon ship. Mumamba my guy build another no player is bigger than the team God has blessed you with wisdom he will never fail you find boys who will play for you not money mongers. Am die hard Zesco but it is not right what is obtaining at this club.
In the short term it is good for the players’ pockets as they’ll definitely earn higher salaries than Zanaco has been paying, but in the long term it is a bad move coz the standard of play in SA is really below par – given their facilities and resources. For example, Zimbabwe’s featured at least 6 SA based players in each of its AFCON 2017 games, but look how they embarrassingly crashed out of the tournament.
Imwe what will remain of zanaco? A team in the Champions League loosing players like this is not ideal. Someone has failed to manage this team
