Lundazi to have a new airstrip funded from local resources by the city council

Lundazi District Council in Eastern Province has embarked on construction of new and modern airstrip four kilometers , away from Lundazi town along Lundazi- Chief Mwase road.

ZANIS reports Lundazi District Council Secretary Boyd Kaoma disclosed the development in Lundazi interview yesterday adding that the project worth about at a total cost of K1, 090,000 is totally financed by the local authority.

Mr Kaoma added that the work has since progressed, adding that currently is at 60 percent has been done so far.

Mr. Kaoma said the Local Authority has since engaged the Zambia National Service [ZNS] as Contractor to do the works.

Chief Principal Officer Mr Kaoma revealed that Lundazi Council was using its own resources to finance the project; so far the Local Authority has since paid contractor part payment, amounting to K 500,000, as one way of showing commitments towards the project.

  1. Kudos to Lundazi council. Wish all councils could have such plans and commitment. Instead of Boma iyanganepo, they are doing it with own resources. Such Council Secretaries need to be upgraded. Tonga Dada.

  2. Can we have Engineers in Lundazi to do an airport? Aeroplanes will be getting stuck, beuka and crushing like motor vehicles. If they can not do simple roads how can they do an airport? Mwebantu!!!!!!!!!!

  3. But why are they sounding like they want a pat on their backs? This is how it should be . It’s like giving a pat on your dad’s back for putting food on your table.. That’s his job
