State House has castigated opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for misleading the Commonwealth delegation that met him recently, in Lusaka.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda says it was wrong for the UPND leader to claim that the August 2016 general election results were stolen from him.
Mr Chanda said it was unpatriotic of the opposition leader to continue peddling lies when he has failed to prove how many votes were stolen from him.
Speaking to the media at State House today, Mr. Chanda said the opposition leader should be sincere and accept that President Lungu won the August 11, 2016 general elections.
Mr. Chanda maintained that Mr. Hichilema must refrain from insinuating that he won the elections as President Lungu won convincingly in six provinces out of the ten provinces.
The UPND leader should just move on and accept the outcome of the general elections, Mr. Chanda told journalists during the briefing.
He said misleading international organizations will not buy him sympathy from the international media.
“ Government is ready to provide reports compelled by various monitoring organizations that participated in the monitoring of the August 2016 general elections, ‘ said the President Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations.
He emphasized that none of the monitoring organizations questioned the outcome of the election results.
Mr. Chanda said the Zambian people are distancing themselves from Mr. Hichilema because of his delusion state of mind.
Recently , the UPDN leader was quoted in the media alleging that the 2016 general elections results were stolen from him when he met the Commonwealth delegation.
And Mr Chanda has counseled UPND leader to desist from creating false impressions to the international community that there is tension in the country.
He explained that visiting foreign nationals who are in the country to watch the ongoing AFCON under 20 games are surprised to learn that there is no tension in the country.
Mr. Hichilema risks being irrelevant in the opposition if he continues on his path of telling lies about the state of affairs in the country, he said.
Meanwhile Mr Chanda has told journalists that Agriculture minister Dora Siliya is not involved in the maize gate scandal.
Mr Chanda said it was wrong for the Malawi maize gate commission of inquiry to mention the name of Ms Siliya in the report when they did not speak to her.
He explained that on the Zambian side there is no maize scandal adding that the maize gate problem is in Malawi.
Mr Chanda described the mentioning of Zambia’s Agriculture minister in the maize gate commission of inquiry report as unfortunate.
And the Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations says the recent visit of President Lungu to Israel was successful.
Mr Chanda said the Head of State was accorded a full state visit by the government of Israel during his five days official visit.
He disclosed that President Lungu managed to re-establish diplomatic and political ties between the two countries.
Relations between the two governments had regrettably broken down from 1973 to 1993.
He said President Lungu’s visit to the holy land enabled him to cement economic ties between the two countries.
Mr. Chanda revealed that four medical missions from Israel are expected to arrive in the country soon.
However Mr. Chanda told journalists that minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba will present a deport report to parliament on the outcome of the President’s visit to Israel.
He also hinted that Zambia and Israel will sign an MOU agreement in the due course that seeks to promote cooperation in the agriculture sector.
Earlier, Mr. Chanda asked Journalists to observe a moment of silent in honour of the Daily Mail Journalist Teddy Kuyela who passed away, yesterday after a short illness.

Concourt In terms of the Constitution has no powers to dismiss the Petition and there is no clause provided for in our Constitution to dismiss the Petition. Besides the 14 day technicality used to “dismiss” the Petition is illegal. “Litigation is not a game of technicalities” and in delivering Justice any technicalities are forbidden at Law. The Petition must be heard,determined and a Winner declared by the Court. The ECZ declaration was nullified by the Petition and therefore Lungu was not legally elected and inaugurated.

Concourt had already dismissed that case and high court will only hear for academic purposes because of the right to be heard. Lungu made 3 grave mistakes which are now haunting him. 1. Lungu signed the Amended Constitution with eyes closed and left the Petition Clauses intact. 2. Lungu used Concourt to “dismiss” the Petition based on the lame excuse of 14 days technicality. With hindsight Lungu should have allowed a farce of the Petition Hearing and then influence the outcome of the Petition using his friends at Concourt. 3. Lungu refused to handover the Presidency to the Speaker of Parliament to allow a free and fair Petition Hearing. This was fatal. In an Independent Court Lungu has a very weak argument over the 2016 Election Petition.
No one is asking for the courts to install HH as president.

The 14 Day Expiry lame excuse used by Concourt to “dismiss” the Petition is invalid at Law. The Courts are forbidden to use technicalities to defeat the course of Justice. Besides 14 working days ended on 8th Sept and the Concourt Minority Judgment was made on 5th Sept. The 14 day argument is a nullity. The Petition once filed with Concourt nullified the ECZ declaration of the 2016 Election Winner. Lungu needed a new declaration from Concourt to be Sworn in. Lungu did not get the declaration becoz Concourt did not hear the Petition,determine it and declare the Winner. Lungu has behaved like a Drunken Driver charged by the Police with a Drunken Driving offence but refusing to take a Breathalyzer Test. If the Driver is sober why refuse to take the Test? Hechi Hechi lost the 2016 elections. At the time they petitioned, they were still calling upon Zambians who had evidence to present themselves to UPND and they would grant them amnesty. This in itself proved that UPND were not ready for the petition. It is unfortunate that some bloggers seem to have a blind eye to this matter. Whoever may have found it easier to steal public resources, But not elections ad elections are being monitored before and after. If the constitutions says 14 days, why didn’t UPND apply for a waiver if at all the law allows to go beyond the stipulated period. Because UPND were not ready, they had to concentrate on ECL to handover power to the Speaker who never existed at the time.
It is Hechi Hechi who may have wanted to steal votes. He has fewer MPs while his colleagues has majority MPs. I do not know who had stolen which elections. Because Southern Province voted almost 100% turn-out then Hechi Hechi thought Zambia was Southern Province. He forgot that Zambia has 10 Provinces.

It’s not right to interfer in our matters, we are self determined like any state in the world. Are sanctions planned? HH should give a thought to the people he wants to rule. Amos Chanda should leave Lungu to defend himself on this one. It is Lungu who is being accused of stealing HH’s Election Victory. Lungu should just produce proof in Court showing he won the 2016 Election. Amos says Lungu won in 6 Provinces.Amos should be told that Presidential Elections are based on one Constituency called Zambia and has nothing to do with Provinces. The only way Zambians would ever know who truly won the 2016 Election is when the Petition is heard and evidence is produced in Court and the Court after detetmination can declare the Winner. For now Lungu is an illegitimate President appointed by ECZ and not elected by the People.
