Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo says the demonstration at the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) offices by suspected Patriotic Front cadres on the 3rd of March was illegal.

In a ministerial statement delivered this afternoon, Mr. Kampyongo says the organizers of the demonstration did not fulfill the provisions of the law.

He however, states that Police swiftly moved in and thus no loss of life or damage to property was recorded.

Mr. Kampyongo says his ministry has since directed police to institute an early warning system for demonstrations or public gatherings.

He adds that he has also asked the police to work closely with the chief registrar of societies to ensure that all organizations observe the provisions of the law.

Mr. Kampyongo has further warned PF and UPND cadres to be law abiding, saying citizens expect a lot from the two political parties.

    • Nice to hear PF being taken to task by the internationa community lawyers.

Its mind bogling to hear Kapyongo(PF hangman) condemn PF cadres for first time!

Yayaya wapya munzi. The PF id1ots underestimated HH and GBM ‘s soft power. Now Chakolwa Lungu and his stooges are experiencing an embarrassing itch on their anuses.

      VIVA UPND.

    • Why do Zambian men shave their head bald and wear double breasted jackets

These things are OUT of fashion.

In Scotland you would not SURVIVE

      Thanks

  1. If it was illegal why did you fail to stop them until after several hours. The damage is already caused. You should try to work hard Mr. Minister. Reduce the number of Officers from traffic section and re-allocate them to general duties. Let RTSA handle traffic offences. No need of duplication. Kids are being killed in compounds with poor response from your ministry. You failed to stop smuggling of maize meal and now Mukula tree because your Officers are concentrated in one section; traffic.

  2. If the PF Demo was illegal why are there No arrests of PF Cadres? This is a clear selective application of the Law. If this was a UPND Demo so many cadres and supporters would have been arrested. Since Elections last year at least 3000 UPND Supporters are languishing in jail after being arrested on trumped charges. Zambia under PF has degenerated into a Police State where Human Rights are being violated based on political membership of a Party mainly UPND. Its very sad to see but illegitimate Lungu does not care as long as he is in power.

  3. HOW MANY ARE IN DETENTION FOR ILLEGAL DEMOS FOR US TO BELIEVE YOUR STATEMENT THAT INDEED THEY WERE ILLEGAL.

  4. The Patriotic Front….’above and beyond….in illegalities’……”above and beyond….in ubushilu’…”above and beyond…in u-turns”….kwena bane you are champions in all things wrong.

  5. His Excellent Chagwa Lungu is working, very hard, and it shows: Hon Dora Siliya has just announced that we should expect a bumper harvest due to the good rains, remember that we prayed hard for the rains?
Yes bumper harvest, despite UPNDonkeys sending all manner of pests like army worms, stalk borer and, yes even red locusts. But all the pests were eradicated by His Excellent’s timely purchase and distribution of pesticides. Now if defeating these is not hard work I don’t know what donkies think hard work is!

  6. Now that the dust has settled he decides to issue a statement and the identity of the Party the cadres belonged to…is it because of Kaizer Zulu incident. This country is going down the drain with such myopic leadership.

  7. It’s time to protect ourselves in whatever way possible. We are surrounded by I.di.ots and at the rate the crime wave is going, it’s only a matter of time before the so called cadres transform into full-blown criminals especially now when their daily rations have dwindled.

  8. Iwe chi Mushota, Scotland is a village in Europe, where do you put Scotland compared to proper countries like ‘Zambia’, England etc? Just shut up if you have nothing to say.

    • @ Ndanje khakis

Your “bud” (LOL) its now more than six years old!!! Still waiting for “input distribution” all this years?

    • Looking at he terrible econimic situation caused by their masters, these P.F0ols went to LAZ and cause chaos having been sent by probably their SG for a quick buck in their pockets. What with the hunger in this country, who would jump for such a golden opportunity.

  9. A step in the right direction at long last. I think they are beginning to recognise the security risk that their cadres cause to the country if left uncontrolled.

    • Only in the light that the IMF is assessing ‘Good Governance Record’ which is a precondition to Funding.
However, it is foolish to imagine that Performance Management System in governance can only be assessed for the period that IMF Staff are present. Intelligence is a continuous assessment of a condition or situation over a certain period of time and anyone trying to wear sheep’s skin now is too late. He/She has been spotted from miles away and the only hope is a route towards repentance.
Zambia has fallen into the hands of people who lack analysis capabilities. The reading culture too is very bad and all that our colleagues know is issuing orders blended with threats. Sad!

  10. ATI “Suspected P.F Cadres” though we all know Crazy Baldhead (Chimp)yongo is the goon who registered the Hammer S@Vage P.F Cadre, & fellow filth bags to his Storm trooper unit.
Had these Pond life scumbags been UPND, there would have been swift arrests, & P.F Cadres like Kudos, (20 20 Visionless), Nubian Princess getting their tongues “erect” & going into Rabid Overdrive.

  11. The move by MCS to let salaula traders to hawk along all our Lusaka streets was also illegal cuz it was against LCC zoning laws. How about that bwana Kampyongo.

Laws are laws -lets enforce them equally you visionless PF mandarins.

  12. In case you lazy and stupid inhuman beings in Zambia don’t know people for HH are more than ECL if you don’t know.
PF government is half dead in case you are blind ,only lazy person will support pf useless government.

  13. May God intervene in these nonsense going on with this Kaponyas. God we cry ? where are you? Why have you given us this kind of leadership destroying our Country? We have never experienced this rubbish before.

  14. May God intervene in these nonsense going on with this Kaponyas. God we cry ? where are you? Why have you given us this kind of leadership destroying our Country? We have never experienced this rubbish before.

  15. If it was illegal why were those PF cadres not arrested? Had it been opposition cadres this time they would be in cells. Double standards!!But one thing I like about Hon. Kapyongo is that when something is wrong he states it so openly regardless of who has committed it.

  16. And be warned Mr. Minister, these P.F0ol’s next port of call will be your office telling you that you are not patriotic to the party’s ( PF) cause.

  17. Let us love one another…. Remove policemen from M’eembe place…. He is not under house arrest…..
Please ,,,,,, I beg you sir in the name of Jesus,,,, always do the right thing for GOD and mother Zambia

  18. Kampyongo, the so called Home Affairs minister is on record to bring down a helicopter of HH and other opposition leaders in Shiwang’andu area during the 2016 election campaigns. Today Kampyongo claims his PF cadres conducted an illegal demonstration at LAZ offices. Kampyongo goes to sleep each time a criminal act takes place and wakes up days, even months to pass a frivolous comment fooling Zambians. Be real.

  19. Teargas has been classified as a chemical weapon by the International Community since 1993.
Why is the Zambia police still using it?

  20. Kampyongo must be jailed as soon as possible with his henchman Lungu. They infused PF thugs into ZP, hence compromising the professional performance of its personnel across the board. This is grand corruption and must be dealt with to the sternest actions.

  21. ZNBC main news didn’t mention that those useless and unruly protectors were PF supporters, they mentioned that they were common Zambian, uselessness ZNBC
