President Edgar Lungu will grace this year’s Kuomboka traditional ceremony of the Lozi people set for Saturday, 8th April.

Minister of Home Affairs Steven Kampyongo disclosed the development when he called on Western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu in Mongu this morning.

Mr Kampyongo assured the nation that the security wings are geared to provide adequate security for the event.

He expressed satisfaction with the preparations the organisers have put in place.

Mr Kampyongo is in Western Province to check on the security measures put in place before the Kuomboka ceremony on Saturday.

He is accompanied by Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe and former Katuba Member of Parliament Jonas Shakafuswa.

And Mr Mubukwanu said the organisers of the traditional ceremony have banned politicking at the event.

Mr Mubukwanu said about 20 foreign heads of mission have confirmed attendance.

Mr Kampyongo and his entourage are scheduled to hold talks with the Litunga at his palace later in the day.

    • President Lungu should not attend this Lozi circus. Let HH the attention seeker go there to his fellow clowns.

    • @Nyobian Biatch, eat your heart out. How do your own people celebrate, jumping around in tree tops, without any culture?

    • All of a sudden Lungu change his trips to go block HH. I feel sorry for kapyongo to be running around setting barriers for HH.

  1. I knew that he will go after hearing that HH will be there i think HH is giving this man sleepless nights

    • What is that Chimp-yongo trib@list doing in WP? Does he want to steal our lovely sand, too? Haven’t these monkeys stolen enough?

  2. My president ECL infintu ni Lungu! Let them come and admire a statesman grace a traditional ceremony, let them come and watch and perhaps the scales will be lifted from their eyes and they shall know the truth the drums will beat the presidential motorcade for which they salivate will roll out and the orange fly draped as it graces the national flag. The Anthem of our land shall play ‘all one proud and free’….come one come dozen. please don’t forget to come with trump HH!

  3. Who comes first people HH or ECL. It’s the president of the Republic of Zambia. Prepare the red carpet people the head of state is coming.

    • He won’t see the carpet because he will be dead drunk as usual. Drunkard leaders are not welcome in WP.

  4. so hh and his side kick gbm will do anything at the same to shift attention to themselves like kids…like refusing to attend etc

  5. Presidents have always been attending this great events since time in memorial so to hell with HH. This my home I choose who I want, palindakei ECL period.

    • The emissary is in Western Province because Edgar Lungu has heard that the people have resolved to accord HH and GBM, the ones you seem to hold in low regard, official recognition as citizens of Zambia. Kampyongo and group are scared that Edgar will be embarrassed hence their trip to try and ask the organisers to review the rules so that HH and GBM are barred from attending the ceremony. The powers that be are scared of HH and GBM hence the current talk about them. If these two were not a factor the rally in Kanyama would have gone ahead. But because Edgar is scared of the duo and also knows that he did not win the elections, he is ensuring that the duo are not heard lest they reveal how the elections were rigged. But the truth will come out despite the current persecution of the duo.

    • Who’s HH naimwe by Questionnaire…Have you ever heard President of Zambia Edgar Lungu respond to your Clown whom you worship…

    • Dream on you putting HH in trouble you don’t know what you doing the head of state is protected by the state don’t just dream ,live it. ECL is living it as the head of state.

  6. UPND die hard cadres like to console themselves… HH is dead scared of the Republican President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu and hence he uses his cadres to fight his personal battles…If he’s Man enough let him face the President of Zambia at the Koumboka ceremony and tell him he’s not the President…or just to greet him at the high table…I tell you HH is a coward he will sit somewhere very far just to avoid contact with the man of the people President Lungu…

    • ZAKEYO BOYI DREAM ON. NO NEED TO FIGHT THIS IS A TRADITIONAL CEREMONY FOR ANY ZAMBIAN WISHING TO ATTEND. DO NOT POLITICISE CULTURE.

  7. Isn’t HH over-doing it? It’s time to bury his hatchet and move on. He is not the first presidential candidate to have ever lost an election because of rigging. Many others have, and many others will. It’s part of the process. It’s part of the game called life. Even in a game of soccer, there’s a lot of faking that goes on. A fake foul can turn into a penalty, resulting in a win by a struggling team. What can you do? Political stalwart, the late Michael Sata was, at one time, robbed of a clear win. He protested yes, but later buried the hatchet and moved on. Let ECL rule. It’s his term, his to govern, his to shine.

  8. Isn’t HH over-doing it? It is high time he buried his hatchet and moved on. He is not the first presidential candidate to have ever lost an election because of rigging. Many others have, many others still will. It’s part of the process. It’s part of the game called life. Even in a game of soccer, there’s a lot of faking that goes on. A fake foul can turn into a penalty, resulting in a win by a struggling team. What can you do? Political stalwart, the late Michael Sata was, at one time, was robbed of a clear win. He protested yes, but later buried the hatchet and moved on. Let ECL rule. It’s his term, his to govern, his to shine.

  9. Ba HH nokusumina bwaume . Attention will be given to the president and I guess you will be in the traces

  10. Even Jesus Christ, at one time, did acknowledge that Satan was the ruler of this world, and that His Kingdom was yet to come. Why can’t HH do the same – acknowledge that ECL is the president of Zambia, and that his, that is HH’s presidency, if at all it ever will, is yet future! That is the reality. After all, isn’t politics, politics? It isn’t as easy as drinking a cup of Chibwantu, Munkoyo or Maheu.

  11. If HH is to survive political extinction, now he has a platform where he can go and greet the President and call him “Your Excellence, I whole heartedly congratulate you for winning the 2016 Elections, May God Bless Zambia”.

  12. Some UPNDONKEYS don’t read news. The President’s attendance was announced last week well before hh announced. Even when Veep Inonge visited she also mentioned the attendance of His Excellent. HH only said his yesterday, you Donkeys read please. Note that HH announced his own attendance, the President has people to announce for him. Do who is the President?
By the way His Excellent Chagwa Lungu is the Guest of Honour, by attending a ceremony where His Excellent is GOH, HH is acknowledging the President of Zambia even without greeting him. Hehe hehe….kikikikikikiki….ba donkey nabo bwafya, no brain!

  13. HH should be boycotting every event where His Excellent is officiating, like at parliament. I hope the donkey MPs have picked this one, but then UPND MPs are all donkeys and can’t see this.

  14. Terrible…..welcome back….why does it take you so long to think of a post…you say the same thing time after time…but at least i get a laugh from your bigotry.
Jesus used to ride a DONKEY….so he had respect for a creature of God

  15. APOLOGY

The Editor wishes to apologize to the members of the public for the misleading headline, instead the correct version should have read: Presidential masquerade Edgar Lungu to disgrace this year’s Kuomboka traditional ceremony of the Lozi people.

  16. I think politicians should not attend the ceremony in their official capacities. The occasion is diluted with such masqueraders. Everyone should attend in their private capacities. Traditionally this is a necessity movement (moving to higher land until the waters recede) But I see politicians and other ‘chancers’ in the forefront of an occasion that has nothing much to do with them.
