Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba says the State visit follows an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sis.
Mr. Kalaba says the two heads of state will discuss a wide range of regional and global issues including ways to mitigate climate change.
The Minister says other issues to be discussed include cooperation on peace and security and mutually beneficial investment opportunities.
Mr. Kalaba also disclosed that Zambia and Egypt will sign four memoranda of Understanding, in the field of tourism, Sport and Youth, Health and Pharmaceuticals and Radio and Television Union.
He told journalists at a media briefing today, that the agreements will enhance closer economic and social ties between the two countries.
The Zambian delegation will also tour the Arab industrial authority, Swiss canal Fisheries Establishment and the Industrial Zone.
Mr. Kalaba is optimistic that the state visit will open up investment opportunities for Egyptian investors who have shown interest in investing in Zambia.
The President will be accompanied by Mr. Kalaba, Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Margaret Mwanakatwe and other senior government officials.

It is very sad to see one person taking advantage of our hard earned tax payer money and splashing it on his own personal travel for allowance accruing. Lungu has to be careful with the amount of flying because it follows that one increases their risk of death by their mode of transport and frquency of it. @mY zAMBIA Ministers are chosen based on the Mou’s paraded to be signed so agriculture minister, commerce are all important. Furthermore these mnisters are from the east where the wise come from so the head of state cannot go with ministers other than eastern to avoid kusebana, we need wise people
Big shot heavyweight presidents don’t feel the need to visit Zambia so they just invite our president. Obama ,Merkel ,Al Sisi and Park Geun Hye all visited Kenya and South Africa but not our lowly unimportant Zambia.
