PHILANTHROPIST and entrepreneur Teddy Kalimanshi has adopted over 30 community schools countrywide where he will be providing education materials for orphans and vulnerable children.

Mr Kalimanshi, who is founder of A Cry of an Orphan Home (ACAH), a charity organisation, and also supports over 1,500 vulnerable children in different schools countrywide, plans to adopt 100 schools by December this year.

In an update on the adoption programme, Mr Kalimanshi said he has also adopted Chanda Chali community school in Lusaka where he will sponsor over 50 orphaned and vulnerable children.

He has started buying education materials worth about K10,000 to be donated to the school where he will also pay a salary for a teacher.

“I have just adopted Chanda Chali community school in Misisi township in Lusaka bringing the total number of schools I am sponsoring countrywide to over 30.

“Chanda Chali community school only has one teacher, so I will engage another teacher whom I will be paying a monthly salary of K150,” Mr Kalimanshi said.

He said he will continue to adopt community schools because Government alone cannot manage to provide quality education to all citizens.

Mr Kalimanshi, a theologian and teacher, urged citizens, especially those who have influence in society, to reach out to the needy.

He said his vision is to reach out to 500,000 disabled women and build 5, 000 small houses for impoverished families.

Mr Kalimanshi has also written a book dedicated to orphans titled Touching Lives, Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Zambia, and part of the sales of the publication will go towards charity.

  1. Well done ba Kalimanshi and the best that government can do to help is free Mr Kalimanshi from all taxes!

    • Luapula has men with good hearts.
But how do we defend such a man from PF? Anyone who try to be progressive they raise fists at them, look the way they have dragged down Linda Kasonde behaving like Kalimanshi.

    • I hope a lot of us could come in and increase that 150 salary so that we can contribute to the development of our country like this noble man is doing. just a question, didn’t the ministry of education tell us that there are no more community schools?

  2. @1.1 no need to sarcastically bring in politics even where it’s not necessary. Just go and help this Kalimanshi man.

  3. Is that teacher vulnerable too, I’m sure that teacher who can accept k150 even if @poverty I can’t, is that teacher trained or untrained, ba sponsor please good job manje sure k150? May be k1500 tearmly not k150 in 30days its not fear you know teaching is ,too involving do think k150 will make that teacher teach effectively now, zero .my thought!!!!!?

  4. This is news worthy of consumption. Like I said we should channel our energy on issues that move the country forward than political news. I look forward to newspapers one day carrying such news as headlines. Great contribution to the community but do salaries of k150 exist?

  5. Is the figure for the salary stated for the teacher above correct? Or is it a daily wage. Just concerned?

  6. Be very careful with such. As people tend to take advantage of failed governments like the illegal pf. People know that the government is desperate and will not regulate their activities hence we see cases of kids been touched and abused. Let us not just accept any help blindly. Even in Kenya now they take foreign help with a pinch of salt following various abuse by British so called philanthropist

    • The illegal one is behind bars my friend. Lungu won straight and everyone is inviting him not the “Chimbokaila boy “. Even if the petition had been “heard ” you’re still going to lose because your evidence was mere here say. That’s the more reason you kept on amending it.

  7. Do not just waste your energy on criticism, or targetting particular individuals, do something and be like Kalimanshi. You just waste time commenting on issues that you yourselves can not do or will never even think about them. The issue of Kalimanshi has nothing to do with HH or ECL. Its just personnal conviction. Guys what have you done so far in society, just commenting on these online media? Shame on you all!!!!
Wake up you bloggers!!!! Stand out and be counted!!!!!

  8. Service to man is service to God. Let us talk about the the hand that help then giving unnecessary comparison with HH which is a politicall matter. Water and oil will never mix.
