THE EVANGELICAL Fellowship of Zambia has applauded UPND for finally realising the value of prayer.
In an exclusive interview Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia executive Director Rev Pukuta Mwanza said he only hoped the opposition leader would change his attitude towards national prayers like Saul in bible when he became Paul.
The incarcerated leader previously shunned national prayers and urged his followers to do the same.
On two occasions when the nation went on a bended knee seeking divine intervention, Hichilema on both occasions mocked and politicised the prayers calling those leading them jokers and job seekers for seeking divine intervention to heal the land.
However, yesterday his followers seemed to have adapted a change of heart and decided to hold national prayers and pray for the incarcerated leader who is facing Treason Charges at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.
Rev Mwanza hoped the prayers hosted yesterday will make Hichilema have a change of heart and act like a leader and stop shunning national prayers and national duties.
“He is a national leader and he should realise he needs prayer at all times not only when he is in trouble. He does lead a big opposition political party and as a leader it was very wrong for him to previously shun national prayers or national duties… there is nothing political about prayer,” Rev Mwanza guided.
“Even after his incarceration we must see the value of prayer in him, a change of heart like Saul to Paul.”
He advised UPND also not to be selective on who to pray for noting that all individuals are the same.
Rev Mwanza noted that individuals such as UPND supporter Obvious Mwaliteta and all people needed prayers too.
He said no individual should be placed superior above others.
Pukuta mwanza is not a man of God, he is just an id1ot.

The Bible tells us that we should not judge others. Being a Church leader does not mean that they are upright or that they are God themselves. Even as we pray for others, let us avoid being the Pharisee who said “Lord I am not like that man over there.” God knows us better than we know ourselves. Attending the day of National Prayer does not bring someone closer to God. The secret is between oneself and his/her God.

When Zambians prayed to God to intervene in many aspects of our economy and President Lungu declared 18th October, a National Day of Prayer, all we received from UPND and its Satanist leader, HH, were insults and mocking of God.

Hey people, lets not forget so easily. This hh is on record vowing even before we went to vote that he would not accept the election results! Honestly, pose for a while and think, what did he mean by that because in Zambia a vote a secret matter, so what did hh mean by saying we will not accept the election’s results? Mr. Mwanza you can’t judge UPND and others for not joining PF whenever the called for national prayers because they did not believe in hypocrisy. PF will call for prayers the next day they do the opposite. Real Christians don’t behave that way.
If prayer is that important and it works. Can someone give me proof? Which prayers are answered and for whom? Orphans with no mother? Street kids with no home? A cancer stricken or sick person? I have never seen a church that knows and interpret the bible better than the SDAs. I speak as one of their former fearce critics. Get closer to people to know them better. 1. I am still not sure how those who advocate dialogue hope to do this with donkeys.

3. The call for dialogue ought to come from UPND, HH to be precise since everybody else in UPND niba ngwele. HH will do so within the next one week or so, if the prayers have managed to pierce his masonic armour.
