PF Youths Responds to HH’s “We have not committed any crime” Statement

Share

By Moses Chilando

In his latest Facebook Message, incarcerated United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema claims that he and his co-accused are in prison not because they have committed any crime but that they are believers in democracy and believe in the Zambian people.

We refuse to accept Hichilema and UPND believe in the Zambian people because had that been the case, they would have respected the will Zambians demonstrated on 11th August 2016 when they rejected him and accepted to renew Patriotic Front and His Excellency President Edgar Lungu’s mandate. Hichilema’s defiant stance that he does not recognise President Lungu is an assault on democracy and an insult on the Zambian voters. It is hypocrisy to profess democracy in one breathe and pour scorn on it in the other. If UPND and Hichilema believed in democracy, where the voice of the people is the voice of God (Vox Populi, Vox Dei), they would have moved on and focused on providing checks and balances to an elected Government of the People, for the People and by the People.

We want to put it to Hichilema and UPND that “In a democracy, lawlessness is the eternal foe of liberty.” It is folly for anyone to injure society and expect to go scot free!
We have no doubt that Hichilema has not had time to look at the highly provocative and life threatening Mongu video footage. It is indeed a fallacy for Hichilema to assert that him and his co-accused are behind bars because they are democrats who believe in democracy and Zambia. To keep it straight, they are in prison and appearing in Court because they broke the law and should not pronounce himself and his colleagues guilty until the courts so decide. It is now clear that UPND needs serious schooling in democracy. It is not democracy when you are bent on injuring democracy

As youths in the Patriotic Front, we find ta rather strange that democracy has taken a new meaning in the world of Hichilema. Apparently, the UPND leader has adopted the reverse definition of democracy – something that borders on anarchy, lawlessness and a bumper-car mindset where you want to collide with any vehicle in sight irrespective of whether it’s the Presidential motorcade. It’s clear, more prayers and fasting is needed for Hichilema’s change of heart to happen.

We have no doubt that Zambians look forward to a Mr. Hichilema who will be an advocate against lawlessness and anarchy. After such heavy investment in prayer as we saw yesterday and laid by former Pastor Nevers Mumba, it is hoped that Zambians will see a less angry, less bitter Hichilema preaching peace and national unity. We had hoped that after intense prayers for Mr. Hichilema yesterday, he could have had a radical change of heart, to realise his wrongs and pursue a new path. We had hoped that the “Saul-to-Paul transformation” was part of what his intercessors imagined as they prayed for him fervently yesterday.

It is always a challenge when the nation must deal with individuals who are some political projects belonging to capitalist corporations. As youths in the Province, we also wish to note that Zambia is independent and must continue rejecting puppets of neo-colonialists who want to usurp power through the back door so they can control our natural resources. Anglo America had their time in Zambia and dumped us when we needed them the most, condemning towns like Luanshya to ghost cities. We still remember Hichilema, without any sense of shame, screaming on top of his voice that he would bring them back. Zambians will never forget painful injuries inflicted by Anglo’s pulling out under late President Levy Mwanawasa! Once again, we repeat that you cannot injure society and expect to go scot free!

We wonder what Mr. Hichilema means when he says that this Country needs leadership. We do not understand what it is that is rightfully Mr. Hichilema’s that he is in Court fighting for. To those who prayed for Mr. Hichilema yesterday, we ask you to go a step further and counsel him from the Bible. The words of scripture in Romans 13:1-5 state as follows:

“All of you must obey those who rule over you. There are no authorities except the ones God has chosen. Those who now rule have been chosen by God. 2 So whoever opposes the authorities opposes leaders whom God has appointed. Those who do that will be judged. 3 If you do what is right, you won’t need to be afraid of your rulers. But watch out if you do what is wrong! You don’t want to be afraid of those in authority, do you? Then do what is right, and you will be praised. 4 The one in authority serves God for your good. But if you do wrong, watch out! Rulers don’t carry a sword for no reason at all. They serve God. And God is carrying out his anger through them. The ruler punishes anyone who does wrong. 5 You must obey the authorities. Then you will not be punished. You must also obey them because you know it is right. (New International Reader’s Version).

Daily, President Edgar Lungu continues to preach peace, love and unity. We ask other politicians to emulate the President’s stance.

    • Rubbish! No amount of print will legitimize ECL. Let the petition be heard! What are you scared of? I rest my case.

    • Why would the PF youths be the ones to respond to someone who is not their leader? If the response was from Zambian youths in general the whole analysis and reporting would have been balanced.

    • These PF , there are a lot of contempts in that long piece of thing.
Even the Edgar mentioned told the PF to stop commenting on court cases.
      Deregister that PF please.

    • Zambians did not elect Lungu. There’s ample evidence of vote rigging with most constituencies in Lusaka not having valid form G12s. There’s at least 300,000 votes that cannot be verified. This is the evidence that Lungu and PF did not want the ConCourt to deliver a verdict on.

    • This is the result of idleness,if this is the quality of youths in PF then the party has no future. You cannot have a party where everybody is a spokesperson on everything.

    • Its irritating when there is no qualification in statements using “Zambians” as it is inclusive as in all! Indeed Zambians are a society with varied interests and wholesale statements as “Zambians want this or that” when its only in certain circles that what is being referred to prefers to groups all Zambians under their whims! Fact is not all Zambians elected Lungu or hate him as a person! Not all Zambians see HH as one that would move the country out of the current woes! Not all Zambians discern the intelligence of either HH or Lungu! Not all Zambians believe there is corruption in government, the list goes on and I don’t see why statements can not be qualified with “some” when highly partisan! Of course it can be alluded that “Zambians want good health services and schools”…

    • PF just spend your efforts towards reducing poverty and not fighting HH. He is not the reason you, pf, are failing to pay back kaloba. We told you it was and still not possible to borrow in order to fight poverty. Planning and prioritizing is pf’s weakness and fall. Recall the chattering of the plane to dance on borrowed funds, New York trip. Now is the time to pay

    • For as long as Tongas and Lozis side with upnd, there will be no peace in Zambia until HH becomes president. There is need to conduct massive prayer and fasting for these people, they surely will kill Zambia, just a few days remaining before the awaited spark ignites.

    • Don’t blame Tongas and Lozis. This is trouble you started. Why do Bembas and easterners want to lord it upon other tribes? Who told you that you are the ruling tribes?

  1. will someone please put a leash on these youths(cadres) busy responding to anything regarding hh,makes me wonder what kind of structure pf has concerning issuing statements.

  2. So says the Lord…! And it is not strange that HH finds himself in this position and he shall continue to find himself in the same if he does not change his ways because the Word of God remains TRUE!

    • It is not HH to change, but those structures of rigging supported by pf have to change. In fact most pf writers have misinterpreted HH’s stance. HH is fighting for the evil of rigging elections to stop not only in Zambia but Africa as a whole. Pf can not reap where it did not sow. HH is fighting for proper democratic dispensation in our country, that is to have clean elections without malice. Check what happened in France recently. Lepen could not complain because counting from constituencies was clean. Let us take a leaf, nor fight to be in power for the sake of amassing wealth through corrupt means. Therefore, THE PETITION HAS TO BE HEARD. UPND lawyers should consult with lawyers outside the country if government gets more stubborn AND SUE CON-COURT JUDGES FOR OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.

  3. There is no structure in PF. Every one yaps as they wish just to make themselves heard. Zuma said it all. In a country where dictators rule, people are jailed, people are refused to demonstrate unless they belong to their party. They are so unsecure that they have to jail anyone with a different view. Shame on them

  4. Stop saying ‘Zambians demonstrated on 11th August 2016 when they rejected him’ not every one voted for PF. If PF indeed won why has the petition not been concluded in the court of law? the PF government is dilly dallying to allow the courts of law close it. you know you guys played the dirtiest games in ensuring that UPND did not campaign adequately by setting fires, making it difficult for the chopper to land and many other silly things spear headed by Kampyongo. the only problem is that you guys will soon change camps as life gets tougher under ECL. The bread basket as determined by the Catholic is k4900 in Lusaka for a family of 5. How many get that as a salary amongst you guys? if you are not stealing from the people at the station you are stealing from the government.

    • I totally agree with you@ saddened. How many times should we say this: Every well informed citizen of this country knows very well that the August 2016 elections were characterized by serious irregularities. The petitioners were denied the right to be heard by the same concourt that ruled that Ministers pay back the salaries and allowances that they illegally obtained after the dissolution of parliament. Have they paid back?NO,and they are challenging this verdict by the same court.

  5. The greatest problem I’ve found with PF is that they don’t respect their leader(s). I still remember that the President of the party called on members to stop commenting on this matter but they have defied the call. PF HAS A LEADERSHIP CRISIS. HOW MANY SPOKESPERSONS DO WE HEAR ON THE SAME MATTER?

    • Brown Envelope, you didn’t understand what the President said, He said, anyone who wants to comment on these issues must consult higher authorities before lodging their comments, meaning that top leaders must approve those comments before they reach social media. Period. That is the problem with you UPND cadres you twist the truth. Grow up, and stop supporting blindly.

  6. Come on those leaders who were chosen by God in the Bible, were not elected by people but God through a prophet like Samuel would annoint one like David as king, there never used to be elections to choose a leader. Daniel in the Bible respected authority but when he was asked to kneel before a craven image of the king, he rightly rejected that because he knew where the kings authority on his begins and ends. If you don’t know were the authority of your so called leaders begins and ends, then something is wrong with you.

    • Sorry @Divide and Rule for an interruption. How about Herod, Pontious Pirate, and many more leaders were they also appointed by GOD or by man. Yes it is true that the Kings, Prophets and Priests were appointed by GOD either through the prophets or directly by the maker himself. If GOD did not want HE ECL, no one was going to challenge GOD. This is straight forward. All leadership must be obeyed and respected.

  7. Which Law says HH should Recognize Lungu ,the Vote Thief ,as a Legitimate President? Why should the Petitioners recognize illegality when their Petition has not been heard? Concourt did not declare Lungu the Winner of the 2016 Election and duly elected President becoz the Petition was not heard. Why has Lungu failed to simply prove in Court how he won the Election? What is he scared of? The guilty are very afraid. Let the Petition be heard in Court and Release HH unconditionally.

  8. Each day i go on any social media platform to read comments. I then understand why
    1. Zambia is not developed regadress of huge natural resources.
    2. Why we have very few youths in top positions
    3. Why we still have old age in politics.

  9. Who does not know that the job of the starving dogs is to bark at every object while lying down in the dust? So these dogs can bark as much as they can so that their master can remember to throw the left overs to them. How else will they survive if they do not that?

  10. @ Chuundu chaitwa, hh a perpetual dreamer, when the guy is doing far better than u will ever get close to. lets learn to appreciate others even if they are better than us. give credit where it is due

    • @ JAY JAY LOW, doing much better when the guy is languishing in jail due to his stupidity! wonders shall never end kikikiki!

  11. Fight for democracy. The Petition should be heard to determine who legitimately won elections. ECZ are a disgrace

  12. You are entitled to your opinions but the truth is what has been said – No crime committed! The trouble is it is a crime to be wealthy in Zambia especially if you also want to pursue governance issues. The rich in Zambia are called Satanists. Sadly, Zambians don’t like people who mean well for them. They have this fatal attraction towards cunning and corrupt politicians. Even Levy Mwanawasa was only appropriated after his death. You wonder sometimes what our people stand for. If you don’t stand for anything, you will fall for anything! Open your eyes to PF injustice. Don’t live in denial like CK did until he was on the wrong side of Chagwa. PF has been hijacked by RB and team and this version of PF only serves the interests of a few. It’s time to say bye to liars!

  13. Constructive piece, Moses Chilando. You, like every Zambian are entitled to your freedom of expression as you speak on behalf of the PF Central Province youth; As long as your contribution was approved by the PF hierarchy. It is sad that any meaningful expression must be perceived as hostile provocation by the opposition supporters who see their leader as deity or god who can do no wrong; Many citizens are now understanding that it is such blind faith and lack of reason that prompted the opposition leader to perpetrate unruly behavior and total b.u.f.f.oonery in Mongu that landed him in a compromised situation; He has now started imagining he is a revolutionary hero fighting an oppressive authority. Sadly, his schemes will fall flat once more as everything he has conspired to to do to…

  14. …gain power in our beloved country has ended in disappointment and total rejection by the very people he seeks to lead!!

  15. hh is an imbecile and an illegitimate chap and Mukobeko is his home. He has dared us for so long and now let him dance pelete in his dark cells. He is not even worth putting his ugly head on the ballot papers, its a waste of tax payer’s money.

    • Zambian, which whole country? No there no way i can get arrested because of a politician. No ways. it may be ECL, HH, CHIPIMO etc, cant never.

  16. Nap disappointed by the UPND donkeys who are even rejecting what is been spoken in the Bible, shame on you UPND foolish, stupid and stubborn HH.
People are busy making efforts for UPND to be delivered and fools from UPND and the foolish HH. Big shame

  17. No matter what PF does, what we know is that there was massive election fraud and manipulation and so the winner of the 11 August 2016 elections is not known! So let the petition be heard in full to settle this matter! There is no other way! In fact the more there is refusal to hear the petition the more we will suspect that HH won the election!

  18. PF rank and file have to do and say this because that’s how they are noticed and promoted! What a shame!

  19. UPND and Civil Society should carefully document all these reckless statements. The time for PF to account will come! PF will not always be in power!

  20. OK so instead of writing against HH what about some constructive work that benefits the nation? When are the 500,000 jobs for the youths coming? The ones that were promised to arrive last year by the “new”version of “PF”

  21. Its good to see our Youth are not going to be deceived by the UPND opposition Leader and his Crazy Bunch of followers. You MUST concede if you lose an election! It’s completely unacceptable that they have caused so much trouble in Zambia. We voted and Chose our current Government. If the EU wants to complain about something why not America where their brand of Democracy saw Hilary Clinton win the People’s Vote yet get shafted by a group of politicians selecting against the will of the people. We too have our brand and it is 50%+1. His Excellency President Lungu won our elections and we brook no arguments from miserable Losers.
