A body of an unidentified man of Lusaka was this morning picked up by Police in Zingalume Compound.

The body was found without private parts, with a ripped off stomach and one right ear was cut off.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the man is aged between 30 and 35 years.

She said police officers on patrol in the area received from one of the newspaper distributors at about 02 30 hours that he had seen someone being dragged by some people.

“When officers followed up the report, they discovered blood on one of the roads and when they followed the traces of the blood, they discovered a body of the deceased lying in one of the yards. Police picked up the body and deposited it in UTH awaiting postmortem and identification,” Mrs Katongo said.

She said, “We are calling upon people who could be missing a relative to visit UTH and help identify the body. We further call upon members of the public to avoid moving unaccompanied in the dark as well as lone areas so as to avoid falling prey.”

Mrs Katongo said investigations have been instituted in the matter.

  1. The proliferation of witch-doctors coupled with ignorance and high poverty levels are contributing to such atrocities.

We also expect more from professional police officers in terms of carrying out thorough investigations rather than just issuing out such statements “We are calling upon people who could be missing a relative to visit UTH and help identify the body. We further call upon members of the public to avoid moving unaccompanied in the dark as well as lone areas so as to avoid falling prey.”

For starters they can begin by questioning the same newspaper distributor in Zingalume at 02:30hrs.

    • Three causes today that are inseparable and influence these behavious hand-by-hand:
      1. Poverty and unemplyment
      2. Ignorance and illiteracy, and
      3. PF cadres and EL’s drunkeniness, weakeness and lack of vision
Even Sunday Chanda, Mumbi Phiri, Frank Bwalya, Hapunda, and Amos Chanda scramble daily over who should responde to what in the media, when and how; because PF as a collective pary has nothing else to offer the suffrening masses.o.

    • Chakolwa Kadansa Kamwendo is the master ritual killer, stealing and he is at loose. He didn’t come empty handed where he had gone for a meeting…

  2. So these ritualists have started again, and all Mrs katongo could say is”you should have an accompany when moving in the dark and you leave your officers flooding the highways harassing innocent people….instead of patrolling the compounds at night.

  3. Definitely this is the work of Kaizer Zulu and Edgar Lungu – these are known ritualists in Zambia, especially Lusaka! Lungu is deceiving people by pretending to be Christian when he is a sure devil ritualist!!
These things will NOT end until PF is removed from power and innocent people will continue being killed!!

  4. So, the police receive a distress call and are only in time to recover a mutilated body? Madam Katongo, you should have been there to save that life and not just get exited to report a murder

  5. Am sure Police have no man power for such kind of crimes. They only have time for harassing the UPND.

  6. The sad part is that police were alerted of a person drugged in to the bush, and all we could get from this Chi woman of the day is a sorry after death.good reporter.

  7. “Police picked up the body and deposited it in UTH…” Was this after a thorough forensic combing of the area? I am not sure of the use of the word “deposited”, in reference to a body – quite common use in Zambian journalism.

  8. What if is this satanist in prison doing sacrifices. We know how bitter like the devil upnd is. Is just the symbol of the kingdom of darkness, listen to all those comments hatred, bitterness just like from the pit of hell.

  9. Well madam spokes person pliz make sure you inforn the public regularly on the matter . We don’t want the previous situation to reoccur, and make sure to deploy your security staff in the Area now b4 all goes to worse. We know u r doing a better job and plz make sure you bring to book who ever comits a crime coz no one is above the Law and Zambia is bigger than all of us.
