Irene Mambilima is the Worst, there is No Justice for the Poor in Zambia-UPP

We, in the United Progressive People (UPP), are utterly shocked to have learned, from some media sources, that the Chief Justice Irene Mambalima has maintained her position not to appoint the K345 million maizegate tribunal on account that it lacks merit.

The judiciary has been brought to its lowest under her leadership and she has lost credibility among Zambians.

She has undoubtedly lost her title of “Iron Lady” and all the high expectations that Zambians had when she was appointed have disappeared in thin air.

It’s ridiculous for her to state that the maizegate inquiry lacks merit. It’s the corruption in the grain sector and the whole agriculture industry which has made Zambia to be among the countries in which the cost of food is unjustifiably too high.

The Chief Justice is not a Court of Law to determine whether or not a matter lacks merit.

UPP did not write to her as a Court, but as a Constitutional Office, which is bound to appoint the tribunal whenever allegations are brought before the office holder.

The Parliamentary and Ministerial Code of Conduct Act, is very clear and even a little child can interpret it. The law compels the Chief Justice to “appoint the tribunal and notify the President…”.

The power for determination is vested in the tribunal itself. If a matter is frivolous and lacks merit, the tribunal would state so and punish the person who brought the matter before it.

This is plain and we don’t expect to debate on a matter which is straight forward.

The Supreme Court ruling in Attorney General versus William Harrington is instructive and we have consistently urged the Chief Justice to apply her mind to this decided case.

The Supreme Court held that the Chief Justice has no power whatsoever to establish whether or not there is a probable cause. All the remedies are in the law itself.

Insensitive public officers and judges will soon pay heavily for the justice they are miscarrying.

A day of reckoning is coming slowly, but surely!

We shall be issuing a statement on the next course of action next week.

As progressive nationalists and revolutionary crusaders, we have a duty to fight for the voiceless Zambians!

The cost of living in Zambia has risen sharply and many Zambians are now living in abject poverty because of corruption, which has now been extended to the judiciary.

Our judiciary is a total circus and laughable.

The civil servants, Army, Air Force, Intelligence, Police, Prisons and Zambian workers in general are working under slave conditions.

This has been exacerbated by the decline in the purchasing power of the Kwacha. Families are failing to balance their budgets – Pay Day is now “Pinch Day”.

God bless our nation!

    • Time has outpaced this Ireen. I couldnt believe she miserably lacks IT skills.

    • Mambilma is the cause of the judicial fisca surronding the presidential petition. She should have intervene and got to the bottom of it as the customian of the Zambian judiciary with her allegiance to the Zambian people not Lungu. Now with the HH issue she cannot even stand up to what is right becuase the case should not even started. It lacked serious merit. The so called Iron lady is now a jelly lady. What an embarrassment to the legal profession. If I ever rule this country. Mambalima will be the first to be taken to court and answer why she allowed all this nonsense that is almost causing our country serious problems. If Lungu won he should have proved through resonding evidence

  1. Irene Mambilima is surely the most useless & disgraceful CJ the country has witnessed. She should go back to ICC. She is a liability to taxpayers who bankroll her expensive lifestyle.

In RSA, the Judiciary has become the beacon of hope even with the rampant erosion of all pillars of democracy by corrupt Jacob Zuma & his cronies. In Zambia, the judiciary has disgracefully become the defender of a corrupt authoritarian PF Govt & punisher of anyone who dares speak against them.

Its time for her to retire in peace than to further tarnish her good name she had.

    Abash Irene Mambilima!!

    • @ Zanda…You nailed. Have a good day youngman. I thank you!

    • Abash Irene Mambilima…she is useless it’s painful seen the country turn into garbage while we are spending tax payers money on such people….
      Abash Irene Mambilima

  2. Why Ireen mambilima defending Dora Siliya? There’s tribal tag both come from Eastern province.
I shall continue supporting Saviour Chishimba for anti corruption crusade campaign. Amongst the politicians you are the only one who run different campaign.
Corruption has led this country to stand on its knees.

  3. Mambilma the “jelly lady” is a great disappointment. Zambian women when are you give us women of integrity? All we have are kopanya like Mumbi Phiri and now the jelly lady. We need to do more to raise our girl children to stand up to what is right. She cannot honestly say what lungu is doing to HH is right. If I were her I would have resigned. My country is more important than a president who is now an international embarrassment. Mambilma has proven to be the chief of injustice and even worse her tone changed to that of a carder.

  4. The accusations are unfounded! It is the usual ranting of the oppositions especially the Namwala Party! UPP you are the worst! Sorry, second worst after the Namwala Party!

  5. Good job Mambilima you will never please the tribal party! They see wrong in everything and anything except the Tonga Party. Job well done, madam!

  6. Irene is Lungu’s appointee. What else do we expect from a product of corruption? The Zambian governance system is rotten. Chishimba is right to note that millions of Zambians are voiceless. Lungu is a dictator. Zambians need to be emancipated from this tyrant president.

  7. There has never been justice for the poor at any time in Zambia. Unless you’ve had a case in ZAMBIAN courts you’ll never understand.

  8. Meanwhile Upnd are spreading lies in England that there’s violence every where in Zambia and yet England is seeing mass killings of innocent people on daily basis.
