Mozambique defeat hits FAZ with loss

Share

FAZ has disclosed that it made a loss from gate takings of Chipolopolo’s defeat to Mozambique in last Saturday 2019 AFCON Group K qualifier.

The loss of revenue can be attributed to apathy towards the senior team following the recent successes of the Zambia Under-20 team when they won the 2017 U20 AFCON hosts in Match and their quarterfinal milestone in South Korea at the just ended FIFA U20 World Cup.

“FAZ would like to take this opportunity to inform members of the general public that it has recorded a loss of K346,308.00 from the Africa Cup qualifier game between Zambia and Mozambique played on June 10 at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium,” FAZ media officer Desmond Katongo said.

“The Association generated a total income of K350,750.00 from the match against a total expenditure of K678,058. The loss in revenue has been attributed to a low turnout by fans. ”

    • After the traumatic loss by the sensational Under 20, people want to stay away from football for some time – particularly that the Senior Team has been under performing.

    • Officials accommodation, meals, transport, allowances just to mention a few.

And please FAZ next time update us on profit also. why repoting losses only.
present a P&L for every much cost by item. so that we help you control those costs.

  1. Could just be that I need more education on the meaning of paragraph 2. Who did sentiment analysis? What algorithm was used to do this sentiment analysis?

  2. FAZ need to calculate the market price for each game. A very low price creates a ‘black market’ or an artificial shortage and a very high price locks out potential football lover lovers. In this case, In my opinion, I think the price was too high for such a low profile match.

And also the issue of the ‘President buying tickets’? I’m not going to go to the stadium having a paid a hefty fee only to find my seat occupied by someone who hasn’t paid to be at the stadium? If the president or someone buys tickets, let FAZ issue a physical ticket with an assigned seat number to those fortunate enough to obtain the free tickets.
FAZ should move away from disorderliness at all costs.

    • You can’t be further from the truth. Its very discouraging I have been a victim of such disorderly arrangements

    • very factual analysis. CB Funs complained of the tickets prices being too high. I wonder the criteria FAZ used to price this game.

  3. Bring back the games to Lusaka, we have a stadium in there. People in the copperbelt are useless for not showing up in numbers to support the team. These are the same people that in the past have b!tched about having games in Lusaka yet they can’t show up to support the team? Most of those people that showed up for the Zambia/Mozambique game were from Lusaka. Take the senior team games back to Lusaka, useless copperbelt people don’t deserve to have anymore games in ndola.

If I read such sentences, you LT reporters are saying the loss is because there’s apathy for Chipolopolo arising out of the success of the U-20 national team. That is ridiculous. Success attracts enthusiasm not apathy. Stop such illogical conjecturised reporting and just report what has happened. We will find out the reasons on our own

  5. Not interested – revise your business case. You have taken your clients (fans) for granted for too long. Draw and losses is not a product anyone can buy. Start producing wins, and you will make a profit.
