Police in Mwinilunga district in Northwestern province have arrested and charged United Party for National Development (UPND) Mudanyama ward councilor for allegedly forging a grade twelve certificate.
Facts were that Felix Kuwema, 29, allegedly presented the forged certificate during nominations in last year’s general elections.
ZANIS reports that Northwestern province Commissioner of Police Auxensio Daka who confirmed the development to in Solwezi today adding that Kuwema tempered with grades on his certificate.
Mr Daka said however records at the Examination Council of Zambia differed from what Kuwema submitted to the Returning officer during nominations.
He said the forged certificate suggest that, Kuwema sat for grade 12 at Lunga day secondary school when infact not.
In a related development, a 43 year old independent losing candidate in Munyambala ward in Mufumbwe district has been arrested for forgery and uttering a grade 12 certificate.
Mr Daka said George Masandishi forged and uttered a grade 12 certificate which he presented during 2016 elections.
He said Masandishi is alleged to have forged his certificate at Lusaka city market and uttered it in Mufumbwe.
Leave them ,even GBM did the same and no action was taken.

Forgery has nothing to do with political parties its personal and those found wanting should simply get arrested and charged! The list of forgers is long were it to be compiled, mind you one Masumba was found guilty of the same! Stories must not promote mediocrity for next we’ll be reading reports that so and so of such political party was arrested for urinating in public under the influence of alcohol!

Please don’t dramatise this issue of Mr. Felix Kuwema being arrested for forging a Grade12 Certificate there are many out there and these are some of the sticky issues which people ignored when drafting the amended constitution. Its very difficult in rural areas of Zambia to find people with proper grade 12 certificates. The few that got them are either working in urban areas or are in govt. service. Kuwema and the other man from Mufumbwe yes they are charged for their offences as Zambians in their individual capacity not as UPND citizens. Please Mr. Daka give proper statements. When a cop commits an offence he or she is charged in their individual capacity.
