Political Activist Dante Saunders has urged the Zambia Police Service (ZPS) to thoroughly investigate the case of sabotage of Public property and ensure that all the culprits are brought to book.

Speaking in an interview with Pan African Radio, Saunders revealed that Zambians are now living in anxiety and not happy with the current happenings in the country which have led to the declaration of a threat that may lead to a State of Emergence.

Saunders believes that the people behind the attacks could be acting innocent and has urged Zambia Police to be more professional as they carry out their investigations for peace to prevail in Zambia.

And Saunders has advised Government to prioritize uplifting the living standards of citizens unlike concentrating on building a new State House.

Saunders said Government should put the interest of Zambians first to create an economy that will sustain citizens.

“ I urge the Zambia Police Service (ZPS) to thoroughly investigate the case of sabotage of Public property and ensure that all the culprits are brought to book” Saunders said

  2. The Minister of Justice Mr Lubinda last night on BBC Focus on Africa said the government did not know who caused the fires at some public buildings and Zesco pylons since last year. I found this in sharp contrast to what the president, vice president and other ministers and PF have been saying that it it is the work of opposition parties. If the police have no clue how is the State of Emergency going to help them? Looking for unknown enemy is certainly no easy task!

  3. Rumour has it that there was some intelligence to the effect that city market was about to be torched but it seems relevant authorities ignored it.Two markets catching fire in one night cannot be a coincident! Not to mention zesco pylons sabotaged in two different towns within a space of one week! Given the fact that the police cannot be everywhere all the time it becomes a tricky situation. Every responsible citizen of this country let’s take it upon ourselves to guard our vital installations and public property. When we travel abroad to other countries don’t we admire how beautiful they are?
