There is no break down in Zambian governance-Zimbabwe Minister

Share

Visiting Zimbabwean Minister for Mashonaland, Martin Dihna says he has not seen any sign of breakdown in the governance of Zambia.

Dr. Dihna says measures put in place by the Zambian government to enhance peace in the country should be upheld.

The Zimbabwean Minister said this in Lusaka today when he met with Lusaka Province Minister, Japhen Mwakalombe at his office.

The two Ministers met for bilateral discussions on the twinning of Lusaka and Mashonaland Central Provinces.

And Mr. Mwakalombe said Zambia remains stable and that its citizens are going on with their normal businesses.

He also said the visit by the Zimbabwean delegation is an indication that there is peace in Zambia.

The establishment of a twinning relationship between Lusaka and Mashonaland Central Provinces once actualized will see the two provinces cooperate in various sectors such as road infrastructure development and exchange of information in Agriculture.

    • Peace is not the absence of war. For those that belong to the ruling elite, they don’t see the breakdown of governance but for those of us who have refused to endorse the mantra of the ‘king is dressed’ we are saying there is breakdown of law and order. The police have been very biased in some of their actions particularly on the opposition and those that are deemed to give a dissenting view to that of the ruling party.

    • Of course Nana Addo tried to be candid but its rare in our traditions to “tell off” your host. This Dihna’s comment is subjective. After all as a zimbo he can’t even tell the difference.

    • Zimbabwe, a failed state, has now become the benchmark for Zambia.

The other day it was a Somalian refugee girl scorning Zambians.

      Guys, we are finished!!

    • the Monkey party PF is in trouble…!! PF Donkeys are finghting the monkeys in PF – Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo says he is not scared of “little flies” in the ruling Patriotic Front who are calling for his dismissal because, as far as he is concerned, he deals with the Minister and party chairman.

Last month, a group of Eastern Province PF officials led by secretary Joseph Kalosa staged a protest, demanding that President Edgar Lungu transfers of dismisses Kasolo on grounds that he was not giving government contracts to members of the ruling party. This call was followed by a puzzling warning from the PF secretary General Davies Mwila who said “PF members who want government contracts must not inform the media”. Reacting to the calls from the youths, Kasolo said…

    • Lungu must stop hiding behind HH and lack of recognition by UPND leader.:
“What would have been better for the President to say would have been to say ‘we are seating at a time in which we have got tension from two sides, we have PF cadres fighting UPND,’ he needs to acknowledge what is happening in his own party. But I think that not too long ago again we heard Secretary General of PF Davis Mwila who was caught on camera saying some really dangerous things in Kabwe and the President is saying I cant fire him.” She said it was President Lungu’s responsibility to take Zambians out of the electoral mode by stopping talking about Hichilema. “The person who is responsible for taking us further is the person who is sitting at State House, it is not HH. It is not HH’s lack of recognition that…

  2. Of course coming from a fellow dictatorship it’s all gravy because pillocks cab never accept that they are pillocks. Meanwhile today am travelling back to London from Glasgow as I will be returning home to Zambia. It has been very nice here.

  3. Then why are we in a state of threatened emergency if there is no breakdown of governance and everything is peaceful?

    • SO THAT THEY CAN STEAL MONEY AND KEEP IT OFF-SHORE. there is instability within PF

  4. Looks like the Zimbabwean Minister was in our country to beg for our bumper harvest.Starvation will not end in Zimbabwe because of ka dictator mugabe..lol

    • this year will hear another maize-gate scandal.lets watch out because pf bandits are busy looting our resources while we are watching..lol

  5. Honestly, what did you expect a Minister from Zimbabwe to say? He’s from a country where he has experienced how powerful the western world is.How they have managed to turn his country from riches to rags. Donors withdrew aid in Zimbabwe. Who is suffering? Robert Mugabe? No.He still has access to state of the art medical facilities in Singapore. It is the ordinary citizens who are suffering. And here we have leaders who do not care whether IMF leaves or not! If the donors withdrew aid from Zambia who is going to suffer? Of course it is ordinary citizens like me.Our leaders must, every time they speak, speak for the suffering masses

  6. people like this Zim minister will say anything to keep their jobs. He is at the ruling top and does not feel the suffering of the majority. sir please go back to your one party country and leave us our democracy that we fought so hard but peacefully here.

    • President Lungu’s responsibility to take Zambians out of the electoral mode by stopping talking about Hichilema. “The person who is responsible for taking us further is the person who is sitting at State House, it is not HH. It is not HH’s lack of recognition that brings us to this state, it is the President being bothered by HH’s lack of recognition. The President was sworn-in, once he was sworn-in he became Head of State, no matter what HH says, the President of this country is Edgar Chagwa Lungu. It is therefore Edgar Lungu’s responsibility to take us out of this electoral environment, to stop talking about HH, to stop worrying about him, to give him space to be an opposition leader,” said Miti.

  7. Yes there is no break down yet but the threat. No wonder the people in power went for article 31. How else can one describe the burning of so many structures including the cutting down of the PYLONS which needed good time to plan and execute. Yes the threat is real.

  9. Lungu should not wait for HH to accept his presidency…! He got it so let him lead the nation.“The person who is responsible for taking us further is the person who is sitting at State House, it is not HH. It is not HH’s lack of recognition that brings us to this state, it is the President being bothered by HH’s lack of recognition. 10. If we are taking lessons from Zimbabwe, then just know that our situation has really become DIRE !!!! Zambians ! we are in a limbo ! We are in a quagmire and i’m sorry to say only Zimbabwe can rescue us ……….God forbid!!

  11. Lubinda now says: We are not blaming the opposition members for the acts of terror in Zambia because we don’t know the culprits and if we knew, we would have arrested them,” Justice Minister Given Lubinda told BBC Focus on Africa yesterday. And Lubinda challenged BBC that as they highlight incidences of bad governance in Zambia, the International media should also tabulate acts of arson and violence that led to the declaration of a Threatened State of Emergency. “We have not in any way blamed opposition members for the acts of terror. We don’t know them, had we known, we would have arrested them. We have declared this period a period of threatened peace and security to allow the police to investigate and we are determined to bring to book these culprits who are behind these acts. Had we…

  12. African politics here we go !! Already in denial about their poor governance. They choose to keep their eyes and ears closed and they brain wash the poor of this country with false promises and dangerous speeches. I was once proud to tell my British friends that in Zambia we do not practice tribalism, that we are a peaceful nation!! Now ..lol

  13. “He also said the visit by the Zimbabwean delegation is an indication that there is peace in Zambia.” Only if you agree with the current administration.

Ask Mr. Mmusi Maimane, Party leader of the Democratic Alliance of South Africa. He will not agree with you why because he’s for ordinary people. Very few outsiders care for ordinary Zambian people. You can say that because you know people in high places.
