LudoHub , founded in January 2017, is a digital entertainment company that focuses on teaching IT skill to youth aged 15-25, through game development workshops and gaming events.
Its flagship event ‘The Gathering’ is held every month at to Foxdale Court Office Park in Roma. It is a competitive gaming event which aims to spark interest in IT for teens.
Competitive gaming ,also known as eSports , are a form of competition that is facilitated by electronic systems , particulary video games. Most commonly, eSports take the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players. The most common video game genres associated with eSports are real-time strategy, fighting, first-person shooter (FPS), and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). The winners of such events usually get huge cash prizes. ESports are extremely popular in Asia and in the western world. It is slowly gaining traction in Africa and particularly in Zambia. LudoHub Co-founder Eddie Musabula explained in a recent interview that there is a market for eSports in Zambia. What is needed to develop it is improved IT infrastructure and support from telecoms and corporations , he continued. “Internet gaming generates demand for network infrastructure improvements at both local and regional level” he went on to say .
“While the primary purpose is for youth interested in technology to connect and compete, one of our goals is for them to take up keen a keen interest in learning IT.We impart this knowledge in a way they understand. At LudoHub events participants indirectly learn valuable skills such as leadership, teamwork, game development ( computer programing),event management, computer networking and graphic design. We believe that through pedagogical recreation youths can keep away from bad vices by engaging in activities that they enjoy and learn from at the same time.” said Eddie Musabula .

The added advantage of tomorrow’s digital World is that it will help developing Countries (with sensible leadership) leapfrog and catch up with developed World without having to build expensive mammoth motor highways and high speed trains obtaining here in the west.
