Bilton Musonda has hailed his nephew Charly Musonda Jr’s recent competitive debut for English Premier League side Chelsea.
Charly, 20, the son of former Zambia star Charles Musonda, on Sunday featured for Chelsea when they lost to Arsenal in the Community Shield final.
The youngster was introduced in the 82nd minute as the Blues lost 4-1 to Arsenal on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
In an interview, Bilton said the Musonda family was proud of his elder brother’s son.
“It’s long over due to see the young boy being introduced in the main Chelsea team. He is a talented boy, we have all seen him,” the Green Buffaloes coach said.
“We were waiting for him to start playing for Chelsea. We hope and trust he is going to keep that position and do well in his football career,” Musonda said.
The Belgian attacking midfielder has just returned to Chelsea after a loan spell at Spanish side Real Betis.
“We are very proud of the boy. It is very fortunate to have someone playing in the EPL and especially for Chelsea. You can play in Europe but the type of a team you are playing for matters,” he said.
Bring him to play for the national team if you want Zambia go to Russia 2018.
HE IS BELGIAN FOR NOW.
Charlie is good. He played well that day. But he is in wrong team Chelsea. His way of play is best for Arsenal, Tottenham or ManU.
And those penalties, shooting 2 each before switch Keepers.
What are you doing to bring the boy home?
Right, Bilton needs to shut up if he is not bringing the boy to play for Zambia.
I’m sure playing for Zambia is Plan B to Belgium. In fact we’re likely to see more foreign based Zambians coming up now that we have dual citizenship; which we should have done years back!
There is another Zambian player going by the name of Frankie Chisenga Musonda, 19 years old a professional footballer who plays as a defender for League Two club Luton Town, born in Bedford in Uk. He is a well disciplined player, he captained the under 18 team for Luton town and signed a professional contract with Luton in 2015.
I alsoplay for Chiangching Club THE BEST IN TAIWAN , so Bilton stop bragging he is not your son and will never listen nothing from u , these kids born in europe do not behave same with a kid born in zed. A zed kid respects an uncle NOT this one he only listens to ur elder brother Charlie cool. No one else, so dont go bragging kunyenga bakazi babene in the name of saying i have a boy in ESP
Bilton is Charles Musonda senior’s brother so how can Charles Junior be his nephew mwebantu? That young boy is his son!
Awe naiwe in English there’s nothing like that…..
We are not English even if we use the language. We can’t let the borrowed foreign Language dictate our culture
