President Lungu has congratulated Kenya’s President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta following his re-election for a second term, in general elections held on 8th August, 2017.

“Your Excellency and my dear Brother, I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your re-election as President of the Republic of Kenya,” said the President, according to a press statement released to the media this morning by his special assistant for press and public relations Amos Chanda.

The President said he is confident that during Mr Kenyatta’s renewed mandate to steer the people of Kenya to higher levels of prosperity, bilateral relations between Zambia and Kenya will further be enhanced through cooperation of the two countries in areas of mutual interest.

He acknowledged that today, more than ever before, Africa, needs unity, peace and solidarity, therefore, through Mr Kenyatta ‘s able leadership and renowned commitment to peace, democracy and development, he is hopeful that the two countries will continue working together at bilateral and multilateral levels to help realise the continent’s aspirations and dreams.

“Whilst looking forward to working with Your Excellency at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, please accept Dear Brother, the assurances of my highest consideration, best wishes and good health.

Last night, Incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner of Kenya’s presidential election amid allegations of voting fraud by the opposition.

According to official figures released by the country’s electoral commission on Friday, the incumbent secured 54.27 percent of the ballots cast, while his rival, Raila Odinga, won 44.74 percent.

“It’s been a long wait for the last couple of days. But we were determined that we would be patient and wait for the final result, as indeed have now been declared,” Kenyatta said following the announcement.

“We shall continue with the work that we have started…Kenyans want us to succeed.”

More than 15 million people cast their ballots, representing 78 percent of the registered voters.

“Countries around the world have been watching us closely,” Wafula Chebukati, Kenya Electoral Commission chairman, declared.

Chebukati said that he was “confident” that the manner he election was conducted was “fair and credible”.

The announcement of the results was delayed for hours after election officials had said they needed time to review documents from some polling districts.

Shortly before the results were announced, opposition members said they would reject it.

“We are not going to be party to it. Our issues have not been addressed. One can conclude they [electoral commission] are not keen on taking our concerns seriously,” Musalia Mudavadi, a senior official of the National Super Alliance (NASA) and former Kenyan vice president, said.

  1. Congrats Uhuru Kenyatta on your win.Tell our lazy Lungu to let our stoneage ECZ be as truly free, responsive and advanced as Kenya’s IEBC.

    • Both are legitimately democratically elected by their county.

Lungu is better than Uhuru. What sort of name is that anyway.

      Thanks

      BB2014,2016

    • Congrats Uhuru. I just hope the Hakainde of Kenya(Odinga) will accept the people`s choice instead of crying rigging.

    • If Uhuru Kenyatta rigged the election, he was at least, not caught red-handed – in the very act of doing so, the way Edgar Lungu was.

    • Has Odinga launched a petition yet?…no? Are we finally gonna have a grown up in the opposition who takes electoral defeat as only a temporary setback? We can only cross our fingers and hope he chooses a different path to the one taken by his kaili brother (HH) vacationing at Mukobeko.

The all too common influenza of sorts, ELECTION-RIGGINGMALITIS, that seems to afflict every opposition candidate on the African continent needs to be stopped. And the cure is simple and obvious, a good SNIFF OF REALITY!

    • I lived in Kenya, You can’t compare Uhuru and Edgar, Uhuru is a hard worker, Edgar is lazy. Uhuru was well established before he became president, and Lungu is a sudden millionaire. Kenya has no minerals, but hard working people, especially the Kikuyus. Zambia has all the resources they need (minerals, arible land, water bodies) but a very lazy people.

    • Majority of industries and companies (banks, hotels, shopping malls) in Kenya are owned by Kenyans, but in Zambia most of these are foreign owned. Do a survey in Zambia, over 80% of the companies are foreign owned and have foreign top executives. Of all the major banks in Zambia, only one has a Zambian MD, the rest are foreign whites, why?
My point is: don’t compare Kenya and Zambia

    • Lungu and his accomplices were caught pants down. I would have been proud of it was only Zambians who did so. But to ask a Ugandan as though Zambians don’t have computer wizards is hurting. Lungu knows he did not win and all the people around him know that. Chulu and Isaacs know that and they will die of guilt. This will haunt them and it is a curse and burden they will bear. So is it for all PF members who know the truth. Lungu cannot proudly shout we won among his PF, they all laugh. They know he is a loser.

    • @1.6 ManB those Kikuyus have monopolized economic and political power in Kenya for too long. That hegemonic power was part of the reason 2008 violence erupted.

    • Congrats to Uhuru, he is one of the top Leaders in Africa. Unlike our own, who is dead scared of the opposition and put them in jail. Shame on Lungu. # RELEASE HH

  2. Hard work and dedication to the people who you serve is the surest way and key to be their leader as long as the constitution allows. I knew even before the Kenyanstart went to the polls just like her in Zambia that Mr Uhuru would be reelected. The opposition in their rhetoric cannot convince people to change government when developmental results speak volumes for themselves.
An election is won well before the ballot is cast, all you need is hard work, commitment, focus and Strategy as you get to the elections. People are very appreciative when you keep your promises.
Kenya and Zambia have many things in common.
For us in PF the four year working window gives an opportunity to even strengthen our strongholds not by rhetoric but accelerated development and job creation. The rest will…

    • And you are telling me you didn’t hear an unequivocal and blanket endorsement of these elections and results by people like former United States of America Secretary of State, John Kerry, representing the Cater Center?

Which cave have you been hiding in?

  3. Do they have 14 days petition in Kenya? I suggest that Raila consults his counterpart and fellow losers underfive and UPNDonkeys to learn how to mess up your petition. But I hope that Raila does not visit Mongu or Mukobeko, they are bad news.

  4. Look at the Kenyans they annouced the election results within 48 hours…in Zambia you wait for 7 days. This Lazy idi.ot empty tin Edgar has no shame at all

    • Uhuru Kenyatta’s rigging was a fast food – already precooked. For Edgar Lungu, the story was different. They still needed to go and gather firewood from the forest, since electricity was out. That called for time.

    • Is it Edgar who was suppose to announce the election results? Wasn’t he equally affected by the wait like everybody else? So how can what happened make Edgar feel ashamed? I

Uku sabailii. Why can’t you just calmly suggest better ways to avoid the repeat of the same next time.

    • Edgar Lungu’s error was to go and copy from those two old men, Mugabe and Museveni, their archaic methods of rigging. He now has a better mentor in Uhuru Kenyatta, who can teach him how to rig electronically instead. It’s fast and easy, and not as cumbersome as the methods of the ancients.

    • Lazy Lungu hand picks those top brace at ECZ….a properly run govt would have called for a proper branch and root review of ECZ and heads would have certainly rolled but its business as usual even bonuses were handed out without SHAME.

  5. It’s clear what Uhuru Kenyatta’s game plan was. The tech guy they killed was the only obstacle in its execution. While the British and the Americans offered to investigate his death, the Kenyan government declined the offer, because they already knew what had happened. At the end of the day, Kenya is still Kenya.

  6. Technologically savvy America is still reeling from the hacking by the Russians. Of what good are blind election observers in today’s high tech world? What do they get to see?

  7. LT can you move in and regulate jj vulgarity. He is the only low life creature remaining with insults on this site. Let him follow his counterpart in insults to zwd.

Bloggers who want jj to be extincted on this site should press RED .

  8. I second @ HH Oval Head remove bar JJ from this site the way he talks about the Head of State is UnAfrican. For sure he is a low life who grew up with no parents

    • Let’s arrest him ..throw him in Police custody for a week then drop the case all together. Its unafrican to call for checks and balances yet happy to turn a blind eye to corruption, abuse of power, utter recklessness. Let pump this in your thick numb skull Lazy Lungu is not King he is a civil servant being paid by taxpayers like me I have every right to question if you want to bootlick him its your choice ..go and do that at the PF offices.
Its foooolish dumb cadres like you who are taking us absolutely nowhere using state resources to settle petty political scores.
      Wake up!!

    • Your lungu locks up or sacks anyone with presidential ambitions now you want to extend your PF thuggery to the internet , to ban anyone critical of lungu ??

If you want that behaviour stick to ZNBC or daily nation……..

    • This is the only language PF tins understand …there he is angry at me for using such words in fact the words I use I can back them up with examples.
I mean are you not annoyed by the shambles of this reckless govt of Lazy Lungu. Is he your uncle for you to be annoyed to insult me personally, do you know what a democracy is?
      Waste of time….

  9. Whether done electronically or not, however, rigging is still rigging. Someone still has to foot the bill. If Kenyans had complained of “corruption” under Uhuru Kenyatta’s first term, now they are going to see destruction – no abatement may be expected.

  10. @Jay Jay for your own information we are a democracy and the majority of Zambians voted for ECL and if you had a bit of education you would be arguing with facts not that insulting language you lowlife son of a thousand fathers. Yes HH is in prison and we Zambians approve of this as can be seen that the Country is at peace. So don’t think that what is in that low life brain of yours is what is on the ground a big No!.

    • If lungu won why is he afraid of the petition ?? Did the evidence change after 14 days ??

If you want to give the PF rats a bad day just mention ” petition”…..

  11. Being sons of the first president and VP respectively that later turned sour, Uhuru and Raila were proving their dynastical rivalry. But I was aware that Raila would lose convicingly. As Uhuru flew all over campaigning, he spent most of his time in courts demanding for electoral reforms which he was granted. The IEBC was disbanded and reconstituted afresh. The election was biometrically conducted and transmitted electronically from the polling station to the central tallying centre. Intraparty wrangles during the nomination split his votes and boosted his rival’s prowess. Whilst they disagreed on how to share slots with his coalition partners, Uhuru has captured many seats in his stronghoids and swing constituences. He has refused to go to court for lack of hacking evidence.

    • At least Raila was demanding Electoral reforms, in Zambia the biggest opposition party is still chasing its tail instead of pushing for reforms of ECZ…they would rather debate about increasing their allowances than upholding Good Governance. Come 2021, ballot papers will again be printed somewhere like Turkey or China.

  12. Kenya– arguably Africa’s agricultural powerhouse, one of the top exporters of produce to the food markets of America, Europe and Asia… please bwana Uhuru even though your victory is questionable, give the Zambians a crash course on the importance of taking care of farmers, and not spitting on their hard work, all in an effort to create a prosperous Zambia..

    • Little knowledge is dangerous. ?
Kenya under Kenyatta is importing yellow maize and white maize because the farmer didn’t get correct fertilizer. His friends in the middle east delivered.
      Today Kenya is importing sugar!
      Wake up man.

    • Last time I heard, Kenya was buying maize from Zambia. We only have to convince them to start buying our sugar well. Half of Kenya is arid. And yet, Kenya, the country as a whole, is smaller than Zambia; its population four times that of Zambia. Do your math.

    • How is Uhuru’s victory questionable?
Why don’t you restrict yourself to Zambia instead of talking about what you don’t understand?
HH of Kenya has already started behaving like HH of Zambia.
You the blind follower are also beginning to have your BP up again.
      COOL DOWN
      KULU DA

  13. 50%+1 always majority wins. And it’s a seed germinate through tribalism and regionalism.however, even in Zambia seed was planted in 2016 general elections.what we saw in voting patterns is what we shall see in 2021 general elections.no wonder today in Zambia we have politicians who thinks that they were to win elections through court interventions.so like it or not what we have seen in 2016 general elections is what will see in 2021..for more information ask the CATHOLIC BISHOPS

  14. Mr kenyata must be congratulated for not unleashing state sponsored terrorism on the opposition like Mr lungu did and still does….a am 100% sure If Mr odinga has grievances Mr kenyata will not stop him going to court…..because like any one who genuinely won an election Mr kenyata would not want to labelled an election theif like Mr lungu who seems not to mind that label..

  15. 50%+1 always majority wins.

  16. @sparka Lilo you had 14 days in court and not one bit of evidence for your own information Odinga petitioned Uhuru in the last elections and like Zambia it is also time constrained to 14 days. In Africa it’s not about the ruling party rigging but the opposition failing to accept defeat. Like in Zambia voting is on tribal lines

    • The ConCourt did not sit for 14 days. Two weekends off (4 days) and 2 hours only in the days they sat and adjourned. The first week was spend with the defense stating they have to study the case and the corrupt judge adjourned for 2 days. The only full day sitting was the 14th calendar day. PF your counting has to suit you. ComPuter is for interpretation of law not voting for or against. The 14 days was to have been adhered to which included weekends.

    • Lunch and his accomplices were caught pants down. 17. UPNDonkeys, nangu ni rigging do you think that your stronghold can give you 50%+1? You have to be national simple as that you donkeys. How do you win an election when you start off by saying your party can only be led by a certain tribe? As for 2021, ni white wash with lime, unless you think that the other regions have forgotten your tantrums post August 2016.

  18. I’ve just finished my research on Bantu Migration. Hundreds of years ago a clan called the Odingas left the Rift Valley somewhere in East Africa and headed southwards. They reached an area which resembled their home especially where cattle rearing was very ideal and not to antagonize the locals they changed their clan name to the Hichilemas. Ends my report.

  19. These things come from God not from Three Mansions! No wonder they love evil to increase in form of lawlessness – a sacrifice to their evil spirits.

  20. We must congratulate EIBC for conducting Kenyan Election in professional and transparent manner. The Chairman of EIBC explained clearly how the results were counted and tallied at the Polling Station,Constituency and Command Centre.Manual Results were verified against Computer results.Odinga’s complaints were investigated and all Party Agents were consulted and the Commissioners signed for the results b4 the Chairman announced Final Results. Compared to Zambia its clear ECZ rigged the Election Results in favour of Lungu. The Vote Counting, tallying and verification was abandoned to all Lungu and ECZ to steal the Election Results. Concourt became an accomplice in stealing the vote when under the Direction of Lungu they refused to hear the Petition based useless Time Technicalities.

  21. EIBC mannualy checked the Results and compared with those generated by the Computers and concluded that they tallied. Fair enough! In Zambia Emmanuel Chavula a Ugandan Computer expert was caught ready handed in the ECZ Server Room changing the Election Results infavour of Lungu. Chavula was arrested and detained and later spirited out of Zambia back to Uganda and paid thousands USDs by Lungu for rigging the Elections for him. ZPS,ECZ and the illegitimate Lungu govt owe the Nation an explanation as to what happened to the Chavula Criminal Case? What was Chavula doing in a restricted area at ECZ? Who authorized him to be there? No wonder Lungu will not allow the Petition to be heard becoz it will expose how ECZ and Lungu connived and rigged the 2016 Election. Lungu is in State House…
