President Edgar Lungu is welcomed by British High
commissioner, Fergus Cohrne Dyet at Kasama airport for the official
launch of Block 31 Oil and Gas exploration by Tullow Zambia limited. .
President Edgar Lungu says the reduction of prices of various commodities and the drop in the monetary policy rate from 12.5 to 11 per cent is sign that the PF administration is on the right track.

President Lungu says this is because the reduction in prices of various commodities is based on market forces.

He pointed out that the reduction in the prices of fuel and mealie meal is due to fundamentals in the market.

The President said this at City Airport shortly before departure to Kasama for official engagements.

The Head of State said the government is on the right track to developing the country but added that people should feel free to render advice when things go wrong.

And President Edgar Lungu has called for hard-work among citizens.

President Lungu says people will do well to work hard instead of attacking those that are working hard.

And President Lungu says he believes that power belongs to the people.

He says there can never be a leader without the people.

President Lungu also says there is no one special in the PF because all members are equal.

He says being in leadership does not mean one is above the other but that it is a privilege to serve.

President Lungu said this when he addressed PF members that welcomed him at Kasama airport.

And Northern Province Minister Brian Mundubile thanked President Lungu for his efforts to uplift the welfare of the people in the region.

Meanwhile, President Edgar Lungu has directed PF Lusaka Province Chairperson Horrace Longwe and Provincial Youth Chairman Kennedy Kamba to reconcile.

President Lungu has also directed Mr Kamba to work with Mr Longwe and give him the respect due to him as Lusaka Province Chairperson.

The President issued the instructions to the two at City Airport in Lusaka shortly before departure for Kasama.

This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC News by PF Media Director Sunday Chanda.

  1. President Zuma, former President Obasanjo and Commonwealth SG Patricia Scotland were recently in Zambia and we were told there is Agreement on Dialogue and Reform Framework. The President should address the Nation on these issues and shed some light so that we all move in one direction. Is President Lungu committed to Dialogue and reforming the Police,Judiciary,ECZ etc as disclosed by the Commonwealth SG? Was the SG day dreaming or not?

    • Edgar Lungu’s understanding of economics is simplistic and worrying. Bank of Zambia Governorclearly stated that the economy is subdued. The sentiments from Lungu is a clear indication that he has little or no understanding of economic fundamentals. In simple terms, what does it matter if mealie meal is K10 but people have no money at all? Mr President, solution lies in creating jobs!!

  2. Well done ba kateka may God Almighty continue giving you the wisdom and guidance, strength and long life so that you carry on with the good work to create employment opportunities for the people and improve the quality of life for all.
As I have said before on this forum, your excellence just focus on the following and you will see how Zambia will be transformed
    1. Energy development
    2. Communication (urban & rural), air, and water
    3. Agriculture (Fish farming, livestock and Horticultural)
    4. Accelerated infrastructure development.
    5. Marketing strategy, both local and international
The people who have legitimately elected you will forever be grateful to you and the PF party.

  3. But this man what is he talking bout? which commodity is he referring,so it’s true that this man is being misleadd by some people, boss things are bad not the way you think

  4. ” In case you have forgotten, HH was arrested for a traffic offence of obstructing the Presidential motorcade.  When the matter came up in court, the State failed to prosecute the matter and instead opted to enter a nolle prosequi. So just to set the record straight, the reason why HH is still incarcerated has nothing to do with the reason he was initially arrested for,  that is, the Mongu traffic debacle.  So why is he still incarcerated? Your guess is as good as mine but one thing is a fact for sure: The PF government is hell-bent on using and abusing state institutions such as the police, ACC and the judiciary to sort out their political enemies, real or perceived. They will stop at nothing to cage and silence anyone who is holding them to account for their actions,…”

    • The cases he was arrested for apart from endangering the life of the president are the ones holding him in mukobeko. You will hear them when the trial commences. For now keep guessing. His lawyers will be leaving him alone one by one after they get paid.

  6. Please Lazy Lungu tell us what track that is….tell us which policies you have put in place? You see mines changing dollars to kwacha…. you start talking about policies when the opposite happens you are silent.

  7. @HH OVAL HEAD.

When HH’s Convoy Obstructed The President’s Motorcade, Imagine An Accident Happened And EL Died. How Would HH Take Over The Presidency?

How Did HH Plan To Overthrow GRZ When His Convoy Obstructed The Presidency?

Was HH The One Who Was Driving The Car?

Did You See Him Driving The Car?

Who Was Arrested When Kapena Bus Fell Over The Cliff At Luangwa Bridge? Was It The Driver Or The Owner Of The Bus?

Why Has The Judiciary Refused Journalists To Bring Electronic Gadgets At HH’s Trial On Monday?

Why Have They Stopped International Journalists Such As AFP, BBC, Al Jazeera, Etc To Come And Report HH’s Trial?
And Which Constitutions Are They Using?

It Is Very Clear That Your Govt Is Fearing Its Own Shadow.

    • We did our work well to invite international media to the trial…..now if lungu bans them that tarnishes his image further and the dictator label looks more apparent.. ……that you all who took time to invite the international media shows Zambians want transparency…..

    • The worst enemy of a budding dictator is openess and his hummdiga is the need for western aid……

We set the narrative.. ….first with online petitions to highlight the crackdown on democracy by pf for which the usual PF rats thought was a joke and not effective, we were ridiculed and laughed at. Suddenly people in Zambia were talking about western sanctions on lungu and his inner circle.
.in our online petitions all abuse incidences listed are verifiable….we tell no lies.

We are setting the narrative again…. with making international media aware of this impending case……what is surprising is some quarters in pf don’t like the international media to cover the case, we can only guess why.

  8. Dununa reverse at its play reducing the price of maize from K85 to K60 is the development according to oue head of state.

  9. Mr president sir i salute u.thank u 4 the effort u HV been giving 2 us. De issue of mealie meal price reduction I personally welcome it but it hz come at a wrong tym. If u had intention of reducing mealie meal price,u wre ought to deal first with de farming input then later mealie meal price. Farmers last season bought farming inputs at a very high price but now 50 kg @ k 60 . which means 2017 _2018 farming season there will b no bumper harvest

  10. Short term solutions to long term problems. The govt is forcing the price of mealie meal down to please the masses in the compounds highly urbanised urban areas at the expense of sustaining production. The grain prices offered are not sustainable and there is no such thing as market forces when it comes to strategic commodity which borders on food security.
