Chief Nawa to defy other South Chiefs and hold the Guta Mwenze Bbwe traditional ceremony

Share

CHIEF Nyawa of the Tonga people in Kazungula district of Southern Province says he will go ahead and hold the Guta Mwenze Bbwe traditional ceremony slated for next month.

Chief Nyawa says this is despite calls by some other traditional leaders in the province not to hold their ceremonies until incarcerated United Party for National Development (UPND0 president Hakainde Hichilema is released.

The traditional leader, who visited Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale at his office, said traditional ceremonies should not be politicised.

Chief Nyawa also said traditional ceremonies are meant to showcase the rich cultural heritage in different chiefdoms as well as celebrate the harvest and preparation for the next farming season

  1. Go ahead with the brown envelopes from PF bandits but before the said traditional ceremony, we celebrate the landslide release of HH today or this week.

  2. Progressive Chief. I salute you!!! You are the custodian of the tradition for the Tonga people and not for HH.

  3. CHIEF Nyawa is childish like HH, so why even talk about him here we want to here the treason thing wen are they hunging the i,d,i,o,t? its o we care about.

  4. Let’s hope the GUTA ceremony will have enough beds and virgins to edify them about the “bad news guys in bed”.

    • Kikiki you read that also. UPNDO nkeys. This is one wise chief from south. Traditional ceremonies shouldn’t be politicised for sure. This is what kambwili meant by saying tongas are tribal by supporting upnd because of hh.

    • How stu.pid is this kind of thinking, ati “Traditional ceremonies shouldn’t be politicized”. Politics is life, our lives revolves around “politics”. if there is injustice to one of you, how do you go on with life uninterrupted? It means you are stu.pid, – politics / life of the brown envelops. In any case, we expect victory for HH this week!! PF, after making HH more popular will be defeated this week. Thanks to pressure from UPND and our local and international partners

  5. All wise people know that by next month HH will be free if not to today or before end of this week. Edifying, you have been fuulledi by this clever tonga chief thinking that he is defying chuundu orders whilst not! Shibukeni ba Edify Naba PF yenu… Chief amililapofye ulupiya apa!

  6. HH is being released under terms.Just watch whether he will be able to talk about anything concerning last year’s election. So who has won,and who has lost? Only he who has achieved what he stood for!!!!

  7. And you say UPND is not tribal??? Just because HH- a Tonga is in prison then the whole Tonga province should come to halt?? Sure you are confirming what Kambwili said about you. Shame on you all.

  8. Any connection between a lawbreaker’s incarceration and the chiefs’ not to or to hold traditional ceremonies? Was the man giving money to you so that you can register as many children as possible and inflate the register? Southern Province numbers of polling stations beating even Copperbelt’s!

  9. Guta mweenzaabwe is a ceremony meant only to benefit chief Nyawa himself. And nothing to do with preparation for the next farming season. His subjects contribute maizemaize, goats and money out of will but fear for victimization

  10. Ever since the Tonga Chiefs said they will not hold their traditional cemonies in protest against the arrest of HH . Who will lose in this scenarial ? These ceremonies attract tourists who go to area and spend money in one way or another. This will deprive the people of those areas some income. To make matters worse this will not hurt ECL in any way.
