Chief Moonze of the Tonga Speaking in Southern Province has stated that the annual Gonde Lwiindi traditional ceremony for the Tonga speaking people will take place soon.

Chief Moonze says the Gonde Lwiindi ceremony organanising committee will soon announce the dates once they are decided.
He explained that the ceremony was not cancelled but postponed to a later date due to matters he called sensitive.

The traditional leader said the committee now can go ahead with organising the ceremony with a free mind, especially that the Patron Hakainde Hichilema is no longer in prison.

He has advised his subjects not to panic as everything is being taken care of and handled properly by the committee.

    • ECL is cordially invited, and HH being the Patron, will be the last person in that line of distinguished guests that ECL will have to shake hands with. And as such, will sit beside each other. So I am curious, will ECL have the g… to shake HH hand?
BTW, to you dumb analysts who do not think outside the box, this event actually can be the catalyst and serve as the beginning of those dialogue discussions you are calling for. Instead of you encouraging ECL to attend, as a symbol of unity, you are sweating your a.s.ses here saying this event got be cancelled, I just cant believe we have such educated people amongst us. Think through issues and dont just jump to conclusions. THIS EVENT WILL BE A LANDMARK FOR THESE TWO GUYS TO RECONCILE, if ECL means it.

  2. Interesting…I wonder if Lungu will accept the invitation. He will be in hostile territory – especially in light of the election results and recent history regarding the arrest and release of the local favourite HH.

  3. Or it can be cancelled forever, who cares?
Certainly The President of Zambia cannot attend, how will chief Moonze treat him? How will chief Moonze address him? And then with all spears and a bitter underfive? Underfive attempted to block the Presidential motorcade in Mongu, what more on his own tribal territory? Sorry guys, keep your ceremony to yourselves, we will not allow our National President to set foot there. After all he can attend in Northwestern or even the Kulamba Kubwela in esstern.

    • If he is The President of Zambia, why should he be scared of chief Moonze?
So are trying to diminish the value of ECL as the President? In that case, I am sure just as you have a name tag for HH (under five as you say) you should have similar name tag for ECL, even worse than that of HH. Why? Simple. Imagine, being bared to enter the corridor that leads to your bedroom in your own house!!!. Only a …….. would agree to that, right?
The rest you can think it over by yourself, if you are really a grown up person as you pretend to be. Otherwise you are not better than the underfives that you castigate on daily basis.

  4. By initially cancelling it, the owners were confirming that this ceremony is incompatible with national values, national culture, and national protocol. I am sure it has been taken out of the national calender of ceremonies.

    • What is the meaning of this traditional ceremony? I thought that these cremonies follow calender seasons. If the season is gone why not wait for next year. Yaba these things are becoming political.

  5. These tribal elements are shameless. Initially you told the nation that the ceremony won’t be staged this year. What has changed? It it because, your small god has been released?

  6. Police should cancel this gathering using article 31. It’s not a serious ceremony that’s why even themselves postponed it.

  7. To me and I stand to be corrected, our chiefs are just showing how tribal they’re. They are not interested in reconciliation as long as HH is not president. 2021 will be bad and I urge non Southern Zambians to live the province during the elections especially if HH loses again.

    • That is a divisive ton Mr. Ndanje khakis.
If ECL is the President of Zambia, then he should attend. If he doesn’t, then is good to be called a coward, and will just confirm that he is the PF President and not Zambian President. Of course, he will not be allowed to raise that fist which he does even when campaign is over long time ago.

He should attend without 2021 in mind, as simple as that.

    • My point is that chief is aligning himself to Upnd and Upnd is headed by someone from that village. I’m not happy and as a frank I can’t pretend things are ok.

  8. The People of Southern Province are very hardworking and very receptive to anyone.. even a Muzungu. But they do not need to be insulted by any other lazy tribal grouping who earn their liver lives through begging and boot-licking. Would you please leave them out of your nonsense?

    • You can’t call other tribes lazy when you don’t feed them. My friend it’s democracy and a president can come from any tribe but your actions make us afraid of voting for your candidate. At my club Tongas and people from NWP have ganged up and all they discuss is how evil the bemba people are. Even their campaign was always among themselves.

    • Ikalenifye naimwe which hard working tribe? Which lazy tribe come to your door to beg for help? I go to Livingstone all the time what l see along the way is nothing but poverty nothing to show. A hard working individual builds a decent home for himself and his family but what I along the way to Livingstone is nothing equivalent to what a hard working person can build. Stop lying to yourselves that you’re hard working. All Zambians are hard working. We have beggars in southern, eastern western northern provinces of Zambia and we have hard workers in these provinces. Former Zambia Railways MD a Tonga guy stole big time and ZR is no longer the same. We hear the same thing about HH stole from the mines big time. We all have the responsibility of building Zambia no one tribe can build Zambia…

  9. THIS IS TRUE.
THE GREAT NORTH ROAD IS DRY. NO FOOD FROM NAKONDE TO KAPIRI. IT LOOKS DESERTED AND IMPOVERISHED. THE PEOPLE IN THIS REGION ARE NOT AS HARD WORKING AS THOSE FROM SOUTHERN PROVINCE.
    Nothing Tribal here.

  11. @CHINVINDINVINDI # 12, you have been reading a lot of Dog Watchers in Zambia and all you see are dogs daily! You should ask him to run as President of Namwala District! He will do very well!

    • It is showing laziness from nakonde to Kapiri. All I see are fried nut all the way and a bit of banana.
Perhaps you don’t want anything to do with Tongas…… come to Come to eastern. Can you not see that you are lazy along the Northern route?

  12. OMG!!!Don’t you people have anything interesting to whinge about apart from tribal nonsense ??? Talk about your personal achievements and the way forward for this country !!! I am so bored of you all and no wander black people sold each other into slavery, and next time a white person or even another African discriminates against you please don’t raise the race card . You are just like them, full of nasty hate and negativity. Grow up and think outside the box !!! There are a lot of kids born from mixed tribal parents there in Zambia, please dont confuse them. Teach them how to respect and love… move this country forward and stop bickering for once !!!
