Kitwe United ready for Zesco

Share

Kitwe United coach Ernest Koffi has declared that his side will not fear Zesco United as the two teams clash in Wednesday’s delayed Barclays Cup quarterfinal match at Nkana Stadium.

The Buchi Boys set up the clash against Zesco after seeing off fellow Division One side New Monze Swallows at the pre-quarterfinal state via a 1-0 win earlier this month.

“Our expectations are that we qualify to the semifinals and possibly the final. We have worked hard to realise the dream of reaching the semifinal,” Koffi said.

“Zesco is a big team but we don’t fear them. When it comes to football, the winner is decided on the pitch,” the Ghanaian born coach said.

Kitwe captain and experienced defender Moses Lolozi said Zesco are beatable.

“There are no fears in our camp. Any team in the World is beatable. Even Zesco despite being a big team they can be beaten. We just have to do our best,” Lolozi said.

Zesco tackle Kitwe three days after being eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup by SuperSport United at the quarterfinal stage.

Zesco coach Zlatko Krmpotic said his side will not underrate Chingalika.

“Yes we are playing Kitwe United in Kitwe. I know it is very hard to motivate this team but this is football.
Kitwe is from the second division but a good team, so we have to prepare for that team,” he said.

Teams already in the semifinals are Zanaco, Napsa Stars and Lusaka Dynamos.
