The 42 Fire Trucks
The 42 Fire Trucks
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Acting Spokesperson Dorothy Mwanza has expressed concerns regarding media reports on procurement of 42 fire tenders and the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way.

In a statement unveiled to Pan African Radio news today, Ms. Mwanza revealed that Commission already investigated the matter relating to the awarding of the tender involving the 42 fire tenders in 2016.

Ms. Mwanza said the investigations in this matter revealed that processes and procedures were followed and the matter was subsequently closed in the same year.

Ms. Mwanza has since called on members of the public with any new information on the matter to avail it to enable the Commission look into the matter further.

And Ms. Mwanza states that the Commission has also taken an interest in the matter involving the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way.

Ms. Mwanza further urged members of the public who have information on alleged corruption to promptly report such matters to the Anti-Corruption Commission as provided for in the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012, as opposed to only going to the media.

Ms. Mwanza adds that the Commission handles whistleblowers and all other clients with utmost confidentiality and professionalism, ensuring that their rights are well protected because of the nature of its investigations.

“The Commission may not necessarily publicize information regarding cases under investigation, but this does not mean that the Commission is not conducting its work”

“The Commission reports on investigations at appropriate junctures” Ms. Mwanza said

  1. Lets MOVE ON to LUSAKA – NDOLA DUAL CARRIAGEWAY PROJECT PEGGED AT US$1.2billion THOUGH NOTHING WILL COME OUT LIKE FIRE TENDER, ZAMBIANS WILL REMEMBER IN 2021 UNDER PRESIDENT HH

  2. And thats how the people lost faith in the system As anarchy was on the raise and those in charge preoccupied, little did they know how far they had drifted from the majority who did not live up to the standard of life .An elite group is what they created. If only they had any connection to reality they would not have been standing awe struck by the majority reaction.”How come they are reacing thisway?I thought we had it all under control,”they ask themselves.”these ungrateful masses,i thought we were serving them”,they cried. Now it is very easy to be disillusioned if you are in the inside. If you spend less time with the unconfortable majority who endure the heat yet hold the keys to your very existance of status.” We should have followed our first instincts.Ignore praise singers and…

    • The very fact that these vehicles cost more than the average expected stinks corruption.Corruption of good judgement which should be mated by resignation if the involved have any fibre of conscience remaining. Who in his right mind wouldnt cringe at just the idea of spending so much in such quantities at the expense of health and education or indeed many other pressing needs like the commercial Namibia/Zambia road?

  3. Some Bloggers on this site may have information that they are not sharing. To me, it is like the so called corruption is in other persons Head. Those who are in charge of investigations are saying that there was no corruption in this matter. These are the ones who may have looked at the procurement processes whereas for us in Chaisa Compound, we insist that there was corruption; What a fallacy is this? Us Zambians like passing comments on the issues that you are ignorant about. If indeed we can rely of what Hon. Chishimba Kambwiri’s utterances, where was he when the ACC was investigating the matter? Why didn’t he provide them with the information he is saying now? I only hope, there is no soar grapes and frustrations in Hon. CK.

  4. “Shameneni bane-SHAME HH AND HIS SOLDIERS”!!!!!kikikikikikikiki.so what next now bo Kambwili and HH?jealous is sin.let your friends in Govnt work in peace.ACC is an institution responsible for corruption.if it cleared this tender in 2016,who are we to blame it?
Look,Mr Sata’s Govnt which Kambwili was part of,bought a fire engine for Zaf in 2012 worth US$1.3m each.now we are in 2017 (its 5 yrs ago) and ECL’s Govnt buys those engines at US$1m each,is it not fair?plus this tender started under ba Sata and CK was there!!Kambwili is simply an empty tin.
IF HH AND CK CARE FOR US POOR ZAMBIANS,LET THEM CAMP IN CHINGOLA AND FORCE KCM TO STOP THE NONSENSE IT DOING TO ZAMBIAN MINERS!!!this fire engine tender wont win them votes.SO NOW ACC HAS PUT AN END TO THIS!!!BRAVO ACC AND LET JEALOUS…

    • Iwe du.ll kaponya , a fire truck needed to extinguish jet fuels is not the same as a simple water or form throwing truck……

    • I can’t help but reprimand your shallow thinking, you are the reason this country will continue to subject people to mediocrity because you have absolutely no 5 senses. You think this about politics, its your very own existence at stake and your children if at all you have.

  5. So to you ACC if those $380 K trucks cost Zambia $5 million each , this is not corruption as long as procedures were followed ??

  6. The thing is that the PF thinks they will stay in power forever this will be interesting when they lose…most of the PF members will end up in jail…I will personally visit them…while eating my chicken and chips from KFC..

  7. EVERY time I am stopped at a roadblock I have to pay BRIBES to this dishonest PFolice force. I personally have paid hundreds of times. Now multiply that by how many cars are on Zambian roads.

We are SINKING under all this CORRUPTION!

And how many cases have the ACC prosecuted ??????

    NONE! ZERO! NOT ONE!

So should we believe this now? These people are jokers! Parasites living off our taxes for doing absolutely NOTHING except telling us lies that there is no corruption in Zambia.

THEY SHOULD BE HAILED FOR FRAUD!

    • For sure even the.members of the ACC have cars. They must have been stopped at roadblocks themselves!

And they must.have even paid.bribes themselves too!

      And no prosecutions !!!!!!!!!!

  8. They have nothing else to use for campaigns apart from scandalizing government. Maybe if HH’s or Lauras house catches fire no disputed fire tender should be used.

    • HH and Laura PAY TAXES that were used to pay for these trucks.

LUNGU and his gang of thieves STEAL THE TAXES that should have been used on public resources.

They are the ones that should be denied services! Take Lungus plane and chopper away from him to pay this bill!

  9. Corruption is perception and the public is right. Let us support what is right. There were many bidders who submitted lower priced bids but were rejected on flimsy grounds AS PROVIDED FOR IN THE LAW, but which is against international practice. These were Post-qualification matters such as litigation status which does not affect the substance of the bid (price). This tender could have been easily awarded to a bidder who put their bid at US$9 Million and today, no one would have cried foul. Indeed it is surprising that the evaluation committee and the approving authorities were not shaken by recommending award of contract to such a highly priced bidder! Did they have a conscious? They all need to be taken to task. But I very much doubt the involvement of the Minister and President.

  10. After selling the mines for a song HH is saying let the people demonstrate over the fire quenching trucks which issue was investigated and cleared. If this is the opposition we have I can confidently say we have none. Come 2021 Lungu shall win again even when Anglo……..comes to the aid of the so called opposition.

  11. US$ 179,451
This is cost of a brand NEW
MAN fire truck fully equipped with the same specs as our Scania:
    Euro 6 engine
    EN 1028 standard
    4×4 drive
    5,000 litre water tank
    1,000 litre foam tank
    Dual stage pump
    Monitor for water and foam
    50m high pressure hose reel
You can judge for your selves!! Zambia has been squandered.

  12. Ms Mwanza you are a liar. You know the real truth which you have failed to share with the Zambian people. Truth is that those fire trucks are a product of corruption. Zambian institutions can never be trusted as long as they are infiltrated with half baked personnel who are in those key positions not on merit, but as products of corruption and nepotism and tribalism.

  13. Nothing last forever one day someone ‘ll woke up paying back for their wrong doing…one way or another.we have experienced this before…
