    • That Jonathan’s nature from time in memorial, he never sleeps at home often,, he is always out with Maggie or mumbi phiri or dancing carelessly in chez ntamba! Me, this flying around doesn’t surprise me, that’s why SABC call him Jonathan, because he is always picking up new names on his trips out

    • It’s interesting to hear the president say zambia has a lot to learn from such and such a country yet we never learn anything!
For once learn how to provide good value for money on projects !
Once you are done provide true leadership!

    • “I think in terms of democracy, Botswana has gone to another level, unity and stability are exceptionally higher compared to other countries in the region,” Mr. Lungu said.

Why compare to “other countries in the region”, just say compared to Zambia. As simple as that.

  1. Jonathan, Just go back to Zambia and sort out the mess. Stop embarrassing us. You stopped listening to the cries of the poor? You have ignored the high mortality rates in our hospitals. You have amassed wealth via means only you know. You have presided over corruption levels unseen before in zed. You have failed us.

Do you really think your words have weight ?

    Point were you have worked.

No amount of rigging will save you in 2021.

  2. Ba kateka please minimize on your travels remember it was one of the reasons why Rupiah Banda voted out of power. It’s too much!

  3. Lungu will learn nothing! You learn from Uganda=Brutality, You learn from Swaziland=Child abuse, You learn from Kagame?? Tanzania?? Malawi?? Mozambique?? What do you want to learn? Get out of here mate, you will not learn anything. If you learn to be a doctor, you do not become a priest. You are a doctor! You do not go to see patients and pray for them to get better!! You cannot learn democracy from Botswana and practice brutality you learn from Uganda!

  4. Looks like Jonathan Airport Pombe is doing job on training for presidents. He is doing industrial attachment in all those other countries. I hope one day he finally develops a vision for this country.

  5. What EL is doing is right.I know of his recent to some Southern African country that both literally inspired and embarrassed me.
EL through his visit triggered massive demand for particular Zambian products.
I was embarrassed coz no Zambian that I know of ,including former presidents, was so trusted and reliable in the eyes of SADC citizens that they wanted to do business wit Zambia.
    Economic diplomacy is real.
Dont go abroad to discredit Zambia like some citizens do.

  6. We have said this before, if lungu thinks he can use allowances earned by over travelling to launder money he and his gang are stealing, he is mistaken …..it is a fruitless exercise….you will be unmasked.

Just come back and start investigations on how Zambia lost over 25 million US in the fire deal if you did not pocket $5 million.

  7. Ba ECL please “mwikaleko panshi”.You have travelled a lot.
How many times are we going to learn from other countries things which we dont see on the ground?
Enough baba.just work within the country.
WE LOVE YOU YES,BUT REDUCE ON YOUR FOREIGN TRIPS!!!
    GO PF GO!!

  8. WE ALREADY MAGIC ECONOMIC KEY WHICH BOTSWANA IS USING..AS MATTER OF FACT, IT THE ZAMBIANS INTELLECTUALS WHO HELPED TO BUILD THAT THAT STRONG ECONOMIC FOUNDATION. THE PROBLEMS OF ZAMBIA ARE:
    1. IMPLEMENTATION
    2. CORRUPT AND LAZY CIVIL SERVANTS-
    3. FAILURE TO OBTAIN ECONOMIC EMANCIPATION .. WE ARE NOT GETTING MUCH FROM COPPER. BOTSWANA HAS NEGOTIATED A BETTER PACKAGE FROM THEIR DIAMOND
    4. WE TOO POLITICAL….WE POLITICISE EVERYTHING..Politically the things that concern me are the size of government and election campaign financing. Our government may (am not sure) be bigger than we can afford and we need to ascertain whether or not this is true. As for campaign financing, right now our political system is set up such that to campaign even for for the smallest seat you need to expend…

  9. As for campaign financing, right now our political system is set up such that to campaign even for for the smallest seat you need to expend huge sums bribing people. This leads to a highly volatile electioneering process characterised primarily by violence. Violence is horrible for our economy
    5.

  10. African Independence days in October
    October 1st Nigeria
    October 2nd Guinea
    October 4th Lesotho
    October 9th Uganda
    October 12th Eq Guinea
    October 24th Zambia

Just to help you sir. But please remember to visit Zambia on the 24th

  11. Typical of the simple minds we have in this country – almost everybody who comments on Presidential travels is concerned about the frequency of Presidential travels without any close analysis to impact, or is it because the bloggers we have are so dull that this would be too difficult a bone to chew?

    • We see the impact !! And WE FEEL THE IMPACT – NO MONEY IN OUR POCKETS!

And plenty of money in Lungus bank accounts!

  12. If only we could learn even from our closest neighbors! We seem less gift in this art of learning, more apt, instead, grab all the wrong things from every source imaginable.

  13. Welcome back my presido. But please ba presido this is where you are needed the most. Minimise your travelling and let’s show the world that “kubomba twakonka”. Sontapo.

  14. “President Edgar Lungu says Zambia has a lot to learn from Botswana because of the two countries a lot of common interests.”

Mr. President, I’m surprised with your resources you only find out when you visit, some of us knew this before you went to Botswana.

Just with my iPhone in my hand.

The World Factbook is a reliable and extremely popular source of information on all the nations of the world. It provides up-to-date, valuable data for more than 250 countries and territories in a concise, well-organized format whenever and wherever you want.

    • Imagine. He is lecturing us about things we already know.Dont say Zambia has alot to learn,we know what democracy is, speak for yourself If you are serious just visit any household, they will tell you that Zambia is not in any threatened state of emergency, that you locked up Pilato,Laura Miti for no justifiable reason.Mr President when the time comes [and dont kid yourself it will come] you are asked to justify why you invoked Article 31 what will be your answer? As a lawyer like me you should know that exercising your powers based on your own whims and caprices is tantamont to abuse of authority of office. Why,why?Because Kampyongo says you have powers to declare a state of emergency so you went ahead and declared it?Today you can order anyone to be arrested, what will be your answer when…

  15. Born and raised in poverty, Botswana learnt it the hard way, converting its desert into grazing pasture lands for cattle; and to this day a notable beef exporter in Africa. God later gave them eyes to discover the diamond wealth that was hidden under those Kalahari sands. Zambia, by contrast, was born with a copper spoon in its mouth, at its independence – the richest country in Africa north of the Limpopo. Few countries in Africa boast of the kind of rivers and lakes Zambia has, and yet dry Botswana is by far superior in the way it has harnessed its scarce water resource. Can we learn, even from Botswana?

    • I ALWAYS SAY ZAMBIA DOES NOT NEED TO GO TO GERMANY TO LEARN HOW TO TURN ZAMBIA INTO A PARADISE OF AFRICA. BOTSWANA IS THE NEAREST SOURCE OF SUCH LESSONS IN ANY AREA ONE MAY THINK OF. IT BE AGRICULTURE, TOURISM, INFRASTRUCTURE (housing, roads, bridges, power,) DEVELOPMENT. STANDARDS OF DOING THINGS, ETC. A ROAD CONSTRUCTED IN BOTSWANA- THE SAME ROAD CONSTRUCTED IN ZAMBIA EVEN BY THE SAME CONTRACTORS WILL BE DIFFERENT IN QUALITY AND STANDARDS. THE SAME COW BRED ON SAND IN BOTSWANA AND IN VERY GREEN PASTURE WITH PLENTY OF WATER FOR A COW TO DRINK- A ZAMBIAN COW WILL BE THIN WITH NO MILK A TSWANA COW WILL BE FAT WITH PLENTY OF MILK. SO, WHERE’S ZAMBIA SUPPOSED TO LEARN FROM? EEUROPE OR FROM OUR NEIGHBOUR?

  16. Yah right Jonathan! You need to learn some basics From Botswana.

Lesson #1-Let them show you how not to make endless trips
Lesson #2-Let them show you how to be corrupt free.
Lesson #3- Let them show you how to be compassionate and democratic.
Lesson #4- Let them show you how to develop a country, how to build good infrastructure corrupt free.
Lesson #5- Let them show you how to run a country debt free.
And so on and so forth….

  17. Yes indeed Zambia has to learn from Botswana Pula has been one of the strongest currencies in Africa. Nothing wrong with learning even though it maybe late as Zambia’s copper mines are run mostly by thugs who don’t even want pay their electricity bills that’s why zesco hikes up prices so we cover for the unpaid mine bills that Jaluma has failed to deal with.

  18. IT IS REALLY VERY FUNNY THE PRESIDENT SAYING THAT MORE COUNTRIES SHOULD BE VISITED? LOL DOES THE PRESIDENT LIVE ON RED BULL TO GIVE HIM WINGS? SIR WHEN ARE YOU FLYING TO THE AMAZON AND ALASKA AND THE ANTARTIC? YOU HAVE BIG ISSUES HERE AT HOME THAT YOU IGNORE. HOW CAN YOU SWEEP YOUR NEIGHBOURS YARD AND KEEP YOURS DIRTY? AWE BWANA CHILL SORT OUT THE BIG ISSUES HERE FIRST AND LIVE BY EXAMPLE.

  19. Botswana employs it’s citizens based on merit, not on tribalism as it is in Zambia. Almost every managerial position is filled by incompetent and semi illiterate Bemba or Nyanja, what is that. It is these illiterates put on nepotism who have corrupted our Zambian institutions to a level that the country can now not operate due to suffocation. Botswana is far much smarter than Zambia when it comes to governance and delivery of services to the people.

  20. All those visits uhhmmm? But to me Terrible, it proves one point beyond reasonable doubt, that President Lungu is internationally recognised as the elected President of Zambia, otherwise who would invite him to such events?
On the other hand under5 is only recognised “internationally” by Maimane and his DA party and Makema and his EFF party, both in fact minority opposition parties located “internationally” in one country South Africa. I have not heard about Changirai of Zimbabwe or even Odinga of Kenya recognising or even mentioning under5 or his UP.NDonkeys. Odinga actually recognises President Lungu, did you know that?

  21. @25 TRUTH, are you sure you don’t know where the real tribalism is? Let me help you, it is those people and their party where the criteria for elevtion to president is to be a tonga? Remember the convention to replace Mazoka? Do you need any further evidence that in UP.NDonkey party tribalism is institutionalised, starting from the top.
And anyway if under5 has distanced his fellow tribesmates from participating in the affairs of the country there will be no field of tongas to pick appointments from, common sense isn’t it?

  22. Ka Terrible you are supporting the wrong team.Chinja team ukolewe.I never imagined that one day you would go ati “all those visits uhmmmm”.Dont wast your time defending the undefensible.Tell the president to do what is right
