Sunday Chanda

Media Director in the Patriotic Front Mr Sunday Chanda, has commended the Police for taking decisive action against the members of the public that took protests against the procurement of 42 fire tenders, to parliament stating that it was unacceptable for anyone not to adhere to advice from the law enforcement officers as they were mandated to preserve law and order in the nation.

Speaking when he featured on the PF Interactive Forum platform this morning, Chanda stated that the PF youths had shown exemplary conduct when upon being told not to conduct a match at the Parliament Building, in Solidarity for the Budget that was Presented to the house by Finance Minister Hon. Felix Mutati, they exercised restraint and abandoned the planned match.

” There is a notion by the opposition who want to spread the narative that the PF were on site at parliament to go ahead with the solidarity match for the 2018 budget. That is not true.” Chanda said

He clarified that the solidarity match did not take place.

“We as Patriotic Front believe that the Police is a partner in maintaining law and order. And when the police make a directive in the manner that they did, responsible citizenship demands that we cooperate with the police because in the event that we dont cooperate with them and members of the public and different interest groups clashing, and there is damage to public and private property and there are injuries, including lose of life at times, there are voices that will heap the blame on the police for failing to take pre-emptive measures.” He added.

He stated that the PF Members that were present at the Budget Presentation were there strictly by card invitation and therefore those opposition members who wanted to make a comparison between the protesters that got arrested and the PF Members present at parliament were not being realistic in their judgement.

” Its not that the PF youths did not have a right to match in solidarity of the 2018 budget, its their constitutional right. But there comes a time when you must understand that your constitutional rights must take into consideration other factors. And we are glad and proud as the Patriotic Front that we took a decision not to go ahead with that solidarity match because the Police were very clear that it shouldnt go ahead and we obliged. He said.

On Friday last week, Civil Society Member Laura Miti along Side Musician popularly known as Pilato where among the People that where booked by the police for conducting an illegal protest at the Parliament building were the PF youth had intended to Match in solidarity for the 2018 Budget which was being Presented to Parliament by the Finance Minister.

The Police had instructed both groups not to conduct any matches at the parliament premises, an instruction which the PF youths adhered to and which Mitti and her counterparts ignored till they were arrested.

  1. look WHO IS TALKING? JUST YESTERDAY IT WAS MWAKALOMBE SAYING ZAMBIA HAS BEST DEMOCRACY MY FOOT, CHIWAMILA GALU KULUMA MBUZI,,,AMAMBALA IMWE

    • Sunday Chanda , like Kabwili told you, please stay in your lane. The people who are enriching themselves taba bwata bwata. They are busy fattening their accounts and you busy talking nonsense. Who do you think you are, talking to the police as a cadre, the police do not report to you ka swine.

    • Honestly speaking Sunday is an empty tin that talks loud and says nothing. He has severe intellectual deficit but stands out among even more demented elements like Frank Bwalya, Kamba, Mumbi Phiri and Kennedy Kamba

    • Surely this Bemba Id01t is mentally unstable. He just yaps. In future you will find he was behind his brothers slaughter to make money. What a waste

    • YOU ARE THE TRUE SON OF THE LAND – UPND IS LAWLESS I TELL YOU.
      =======================
Well put Chanda. I don’t seem to understand the obsession of the UPND leadership and cadres with the street. When they conflict police mature instruction, they end up behind bars. These street kids, awe sure. Just listen to HH, he is a flip side his father Mazoka.

    • This sack of manure doesn’t look normal. Next he’ll claim Laura miti & other protesters have beaten a PF cadre to death.

  2. So now voicing out converns is now a crime he is too short sighted to think he will be a chola boy forever saturday chanda wait till thingz take a spin.
Their is no horner amongst thieves
    The party and it’s government

  3. Ohh please, Sunday chanda! Maybe help lungu write a book about his foreign trips, instead of making noise……,,,, HH just had his book about his prison stay written

    • Ndobo kikiki
that is a good one.But why should Sunday be the one to write when we have our belly crawling now ambassador to Germany former Rhapsodys beer scrounger the right honourable Anthony Mukwita to do that.

  4. He Even Commended The Police For The Arrest Of HH.
    This Man Is A Saddist!!!
Did The Police Arrest Any Pf Cadre Who Were Protesting Against Felix Mutati?
I Think This Man Has Commended The Police For Obeying To His Orders.

  5. Democracy is allowing people freedom of will and expression. Citizens must be able to carry out a peaceful march in protest against controversial decisions that affect them without fear of getting arrested.

  6. This lier again…..last time he was lying about a pf suppoter being killed by upnd….dont ever belive anything this lier ssys….we know the planned march by pf was just a gimmick to have the fire tender march cancelled as an excuse ….

.we also know lungu pocketed $5 million from this particular corruption..

  7. Nobody has been arrested for the fires in Zambia .They must have done it so that they could award themselves contracts to buy these useless fire tenders at inflated prices .The Minister for Copperbelt was producing fake crocodile tears knowing full well that his Bank account was going to be topped up with tax payers money. Where on earth can those cheap second hand vans cost a million dollars? Only in Zambia under Chagwa.

  8. So Mr Chanda taking decisive action against constitutional freedoms and demanding probity, accountability and good use of taxpayers cash is commendable?

Imbwa iwe fool-ish charlatan going against common sense.

  9. Just what message do you Mr think you are sending to the younger generation? That it is alright to ignore the constitution? That once handpicked by the party you twist the law however it suits you? That democracy is defined by your own interpretation.

    • There is no need for this 1mbecile to embarrass the office of the president, convicted embezzler is doing “great” job himself

  10. Guys don’t take us for fools. This issue wont end until we get meaningful answers. I tell you one thing, the more excuses you give the worse you are making the situation. This is serious, we need answers

  11. Peace will only be achieved if the current leadership in power tame their cadres the way Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) did it. While we know that UPND cadres started the violent trend, for the sake of our children and grandchildren, both HH and His Excellency the President need to come out very strongly against their respective cadres. We cannot leave this task to the Church alone. Remember time for healing is fast diminishing, if we go into an election as things stand, Zambia will remain a time bomb and a political risk for investors and other stakeholders, a situation which may lead to capital flight due to uncertainty. We want a safe and predictable Zambia. The police must also stop making too many political mistakes by arresting citizens unnecessarily.

  12. Let us respect the Republican President. But Peace will only be achieved if the current leadership in power tame their cadres the way Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) did it. While we know that UPND cadres started the violent trend, for the sake of our children and grandchildren, both HH and His Excellency the President need to come out very strongly against their respective cadres. 13. While it is appreciated that government allowed THE ACC as an oversight institution to look into this procurement they must present themselves to be clean by going even further tonlet the agrieved but peaceful people protest. They should not appear to be insulating themselves from transparency as this is the thing that makes people even more suspicious. I am a strong PF member but on this one and a few other issues I feel let down. The party should never have commented on this one too. Sunday Chanda please save our party from midiocrity. It is people like you who are ruining our chances in the next elections, you are making our able president unpopular in and outside the country. If we do not have anything to hide, why should we be so worked up? Was Laura Mit and Pilato going to cause…

    • it is same as “unprecedented development” or “ninety days” or “more money in people pockets”!
Politely said, usual CRAP from Permanent Failures

  14. Protesting is a right. The Police are partisan and acting outside the law. The Police officers who arrested the patriotic Zambians that were demonstrating must be sued for lawlessness their in. Mwaonaula ichalo ba PF but your days are numbered.

  15. Babiya ba kabwalala aaba ya! Why do you always suppress citizens when ever they want to express themselves? The guilty are always afraid.

  16. Corruption under the Lungu and PF Regime is rampant. Corruption destroys economies if left unchecked. Sunday Chanda and ECL should not protect corrupt Ministers.Kampyongo has been accused of having been bribed for giving a contract to ECL’s Friend. Was Kampyongo bribed with 3 Luxury Motor vehicles or not? The back stops with Lungu who must hold Kampyongo to account. Why is Lungu protecting corrupt Ministers? We can only assume that Lungu was a beneficiary in this scandalous deal. NO one will accept that a Firefighter Truck cost $1 million. Lungu and Kampyongo must come clean in this corrupt deal. This corrupt deal must be fully investigated and the culprits must be punished.

  17. Elyo imwe guys I even feel pity for you because you wont have anywhere to hide when you get out of power. We will follow find you wherever you will be in the world and sue you as civilians who store Zambian money. Guess what, in Europe there’s Larry Mweetwa, in the US there’s George Mtonga. You will have no where to hide your stolen property or money. Social media will be used to track you. I’m sure you remember that Chiluba was sued not in Zambia but England. Samweni for now. We know who has done what

  18. Hey Bwana Chanda ,protesting abuse and waste of taxpayers funds is a constitutional right.Zambia is not North Korea silly.

  19. Protesting against irresponsible spending of tax payers money should be encouraged by everyone, this is one of the duties of every patriotic citizen of our country.there was no need for the police not to give a permit for this protest as this was done on behalf of every tax payer in Zambia including the very police .

  20. Banangwa aba ba chanda. He was MMD this chap n doesn’t derseve to be given any platform in PF.
bwafya with his level of thinking.Let us rise up and help this nation otherwise these pipo will destroy the nation.i’m pf but PF doesn’t deserve such clueless member.

    • Why, PF deserves parasitic members like yourself? Once a failure, always Permanent Failure. Just look at your legacy. One word suffice CRAP

  21. To have a job like Sunday’s is like having a nightmare that never ends day and night cause most of the time if not all the time you need to speak against your conscious and common sense.
if you understand leadership and democracy, you will know that its about freedoms and freedom to assemble and speech are fundamental to democracy. Himself Sunday is enjoying his freedom to speech even to insult kambwili and to speak all sorts of nonsense behind an air con. The day Sunday and his pay masters will go through the Grade 5 syllabus on social science i believe they will be better leaders.
its a shame we have leaders with no job descriptions.

  22. Seriously ECL is a democrat, we never heard all this rubbish during Chiluba, Mwanawasa not mentioning KK’s time. All these issues of corruption, stealing, etc. have been there, but no one dared spoke about it but now even the corrupt and thieves are the ones in the forefront to talk. As for demonstrations what is the job of the police it seems this department should be scraped so that everyone should do whatever they want instead of pay people who does nothing.

  23. There was no law and order that was abrogated. People protested peacefully. Sunday Chanda has been spoiled by joining the bad team who enticed us by voting for them in 2011. This young man used to speak lots of sense when he was on the other side

  24. Sunday Chanda, am sorry you are off tune.
You see….law and order is when people violently protest.
In a true Democratic country like RSA the police would even protect the peaceful protestors.
Ba Chanda you have no wisdom. She else needs to take up that position in PF.
I am disappointed senior citizen each time you make a comment…no substance to say the least.

  25. Ba PF try another character for Chanda… A disgrace.
He talks Just to be heard at least to keep the office vibrating.
