Roan PF Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has called on President Edgar Lungu to fire Ministers Bowman Lusambo and Jean Kapata for physically attacking him at Parliament Buildings.
Mr Kambwili who described the two Ministers as guilty corrupt mercenaries said the two Ministers symbolizes the low calibre cabinet that Zambia has.
He said it was sad that the two Ministers choose to attack him physically over his series of corruption exposés instead of taking him to court.
Mr Kambwili narrated that “Lusambo followed me outside when I was talking to Hon Harry Kalaba and Hon Dr Imakando and came straight insulting me with unpalatables saying you won’t get away with exposing our corruption, he then slapped and punched me in full view of my colleagues but being an experienced parliamentarian I controlled myself and walked away.”
“To my surprise as I was walking away Jean Kapata came raging like a bull and poured a whole bottle of water on me and followed with grave insults,” he said.
Mr Kambwili said this is a clear indication that this government is corrupt and they are scared of being exposed.
“How does a minister assault a fellow MP all because of political pressure?”
“As for Jean Kapata I have not even started with you and your Mukula escapades. I look forward to the President firing both of these embarrassing Ministers who have the nerve to get physical with me,” he said.
He added, “I will not stop until you stop stealing, clearly these ministers do not understand “punch for punch”.
“What a low calibre cabinet we have and it makes me so sad.”
And a witness narrated how Mr Kambwili was the first to charge that Mr Lusambo during tea break.
“Mr Kambwili was standing with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Harry Kalaba and MMD National Secretary Raphael Nakachinda outside the floor of the House. Kambwili saw Copperbelt Provincial Minister Bowman Lusambo and immediately began addressing him,” the witness said.
He went into the tirade of insults against Lusambo; “Mwaice iwe chi$&*^chobe, walitumpa ulikabolala, Iwe mwaiche chi$&*^chobe, Kabolala mushibila nsala”
The witness said Mr Lusambo then charged towards Mr Kambwili and before they could know, he had given Mr Kambwili a hard slap and backhand slap.
“Kambwili began to give his mobile phones to Harry Kalaba and Nakachinda so he could fight back! Kambwili’s spectacles went flying to the ground with the slaps.”
Mr Kalaba and Mr Nakachinda were now standing between the duo separating them from what would have turned out to be a fist of fury fight.
At this stage Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Jean Kapata also came towards the scuffle, shouting at Mr Kambwili telling him to stop making unsubstantiated corruption allegations against her or she will “sort” him out!
She then emptied her water bottle on him.
“All happened in quick succession. To what appears to be a safety move and for his own protection, Kambwili walked back in the Chambers,” the witness said.
