Kitwe United petition away loss at Kansanshi Dynamos

Share

Kitwe United have lodged a complaint to FAZ over alleged poor officiating in Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Kansanshi Dynamos in Solwezi.

Kansanshi supplanted Kitwe from the top of the FAZ Division 1 Zone 2 after a first half penalty awarded by Chingola referee Louis Macha gifted them three points.

Kansanshi have 55 points, two above Kitwe, after 27 matches played.

Kitwe chairman Gabriel Akayombokwa said the Buchi Boys were aggrieved by the manner in which the penalty was awarded.

“We have lodged a complaint to FAZ over poor officiating. We are also aware that the assistant referee works for Kansanshi Mines,” Akayombokwa said.

Three games are left to play before the Zone Two season closes.

  1. According to information from ZNBC who captured the match on video, the first penalty was missed when the ball hit the goal post. The referee then ordered that the penalty be retaken; this time Kansanshi scored. The reason for giving Kansanshi the penalty was not clear. It was later discovered that one of the assistant referees was an employee of Kansanshi Mines! If this information is accurate, there must something seriously wrong with the manner FAZ is managing soccer in the lower leagues. How can they allow an employee of Kansanshi Mine to officiate in match being played by a club his company sponsors! Why don’t they assign match commissioners to the lower leagues to monitor such anomalies?

  2. you have left out one point the first penalty hit the post but the rebound was sorced which the referee disallowed because the assistant referee had raised his flag for the goalkeeper having moved out of his line before the the penalty as taken. 2. even if the penalty was not retsken then the rebound could have been counted.

  3. Clear penalty awarded every one could see defender extending his harm from the cross. claiming ZNBC captured video for the game why not then give us the video for people to make own judgment. Yours guys were very poor on the day, never gave out a good fight for that important game. Kansanshi overall best on the day, actually they were denied a scoring opportunity after their striker was clearly fouled inside penalty box leading to the striker sustaining injury and he could not continue with the game. FAZ appoints officiating officials and not the hosting team. If FAZ appointed referee from Northwestern am sure your grievance would have reached then even before the game but they gave you one of your own from Copperbelt. They game was a fare one and the better team own period!

  4. The Buchi boys were lucky not to have conceded another penalty when they fouled and injured Kansanshi Dynamos striker. The ref favoured them. It was the first time I watched the Buchi boys but their play was below par to have even conceded a lone goal.
The ref was from the copperbelt and these guys are from the copperbelt, Kansanshi has not complained about that, and it is illogical to insinuate that the CB ref favoured the boys from northwest. About the linesman, I don’t know the authenticity of those allegations. But it’d would be a big flaw on FAZ and referees association of Zambia if this was true.
KU, you still have 3 games to go, don’t cry foul before the season even ends.

  5. You just lost fair and square. I watched the match and the referee was just okay. One of the Kitwe united officials was even drunk.

  6. The game was poorly handled and with such officaiting i doubt if we are going to produce another Sikazwe. The teams are fighting for promotion they could have been left to play their game so that the best gets it all at the end of the day and not what i saw.Its true Kitwe can petition i have no doubt at all
